RIP [2012-2020] Tonight, one door closes and a new time begins for us who choose to soar as free as the birds. . Magnificent Birds of Prey ie #MBOP has been a stable consistent outlet for nearly an entire decade of pumping out purely DIY Philly/NJ original rock music recorded, written, mixed and performed all crafted from bottom up in Lyleâs basement with love from our hearts and minds and it is with a sad overwhelming feeling of dread that it is time to say goodbye and âStart Overâ. . Covid has forced an end to a lot of things and hit us all hard in different ways, changing our lives for an indefinite amount of time. Bands are no stranger to the heavy toll itâs taken on an ability to proactively write, craft and rehearse live together as a unit and stay a unit. On a good day itâs a tough uphill slog to be a completely do it yourself band, add covid to the mix and itâs unfortunately become an impossibility. . The birdhouse here has been a very quiet place for longer then any of us could have hoped for. With no immediate end in sight, its doors can no longer welcome the influx of wonderful guests itâs held in its nest, my nest, the Kelch house. A place iâll be forever grateful to have shared so many great memories of and hangs. . A huge thank you is owed and indebted to EVERYONE who has been a part of this band family since its inception: Jeff, Chris, Scott, Dave, Carl, and Joel and the many family circles, friends and fans who kept us smiling and working harder each go around. It was a real pleasure writing with and for you all. Live shows and honest recordings were the goal and doing it from my house just made it even more special. . Never has a band been so driven by true do it yourselfers, in any of our forms, and it was my absolute pleasure and joy to write many songs with the lot of you amazing musicians. Iâll forever look back in pride at all we have achieved on our own terms. . In saying goodbye, itâs important to mention the rest of our final body of work âScriptâ will still be coming out over 2020.
