I LOVEEEE bees I think they’re soso adorable… I love how fluffy they are and they literally are responsible for pollinating so much of our food 😋 They’re literally the super heroes of insects and also honey is amazing ughhh 10/10 insects!!!

🥲 I’m so glad; how about I grace you with a snippet of the beginning of the next chapter:

Daniella peers around the corner into the hallway, looking for any signs of movement. After finding none, she pulls Dalton forward, carefully guiding him by the sides of the walls. He’s never been especially agile, and the broken leg he’s sporting isn’t helping. Still, he seems to remain in good spirits.

“Quick question—” She glances at him, a nervous expression on his face. He was using a pipe as a crutch, making his movements akin to a baby deer’s in their gait. “They’re not gonna… be mad at me, right? Like the whole breaking out of their creepy bat-lair thing—”

“If they’ve got any opinions, they can tell them to me after we deal with this,” Daniella says while eyeing the flickering lights above. She might’ve memorized the floor plans, but it wasn’t as if she had a tracker on everyone in the building.

They were heading toward where Mirabella likely was still locked up. Daniella had put her mask on again, not wanting to have to explain why she was rescuing Mirabella in her civilian form.

Dalton gave her a funny look by her side. She raised an eyebrow at him.

“What?”

“Nothing, nothing…” He smiles, laughing quietly. “It’s just—I like the get-up. I love a woman in uniform.”

Hello, I’m from Brazil, and this is my first time interacting like this on Tumblr.

I just wanted to say that I really, really love your writing. The way you write… my God, it’s so gripping. Right now, your fanfic is one of my favorite things to read, and it honestly pulled me out of a reading slump I’d been stuck in for months. Literal months.

Your work is incredible. I genuinely have nothing negative to say, and I wish I had discovered it earlier. I wish I had been following it since the first chapter, but I’m here now and I’m very excited to keep up with it and read the next chapter.

I also wanted to ask if you have any other fanfics with a similar vibe. Preferably still with Damian, since he’s my comfort character, but I’m totally open to other characters too. I usually gravitate more toward non-romantic stories, with tension, horror, psychological elements, that kind of thing. If you have any recommendations, I’d really, really appreciate it.

I’m so sorry I took so long to reply: first off, I’m so grateful that you’re enjoying my fic it makes me unbelievably happy!! I can’t quite put into words how much that means to me. And I’m honored to have pulled you out of slump, that’s such a compliment oh my gosh!!!

As for similar fics, “The Disappearance of Damian Wayne” maybe? I think “Crawl Spaces” and “An Ache In His Bones” as well. “Unimportant” too. I read for an increasingly eclectic amount of different fandoms, but these are the Damian ones.

Maybe other people have recs they could give as well (if anyone wants to comment those that would be VERY appreciated)!!

Hi! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the story! I hope to publish the next chapter very soon, here’s a snippet of the very beginning to prove I’ve been working on it haha:

Damian pulled his legs into himself as he watched Dick warily from the couch. His stomach ached. The TV was on, a background news report playing on mute. The captions displayed words he only half paid attention to.

“…strange activity in downtown Gotham… outages near…”

His brother was pouring hot water from the electric kettle into a mug. Damian was reminded of Dr. Dahlman’s office, a dull sense of comfort setting in from the familiarity of the ritual. It felt like a fog had lifted from his head. He could barely remember the last few hours; it was like he hadn’t been there, but rather somewhere that existed only in his head.

Dick walked over, two mugs in his hands. He set one in front of Damian, giving him a strange look. He seemed tired. Damian looked away, knowing it was his own fault for Dick’s current state.

He sat down in the armchair to the left of Damian. His hands were clasped in front of him, and he stared at Damian momentarily, his eyes narrowing.

“It’s… been a long day,” Dick began. His voice was steady. “For everyone. I get that. But,” he paused, letting out a breath. “I’m worried. About you.”

Such a cool allusion to his silent reality, and the black and white makes it feel more eerie this piece is so freaking cool to look at!! Yes, I’m still updating Now and Then! I kind of got swept away with TSDW, but Now and Then is my baby! It’s completely plotted I just have to write it… and I’ve been avoiding doing a deep dive editing on earlier chapters as they’re surely in need of some grammar checking at the very least!

So I'm catching up om Sound Of Damian Wayne and I've got to ask- are counselor and art teacher crushing on each other? Or am I just reading the wrong hints?

Very much loving the unreliable/biased narrating from Damian. Constantine was also a nice surprise.

Oh my goodness so so sorry for not responding to this earlier!! I would NOT say you’re reading the wrong hints, in fact I’m pleased to hear that my hints haven’t been too subtle! I thought Ms. Liesel and Dr. Dahlman clearly having something going on would be a fun addition and help with depicting Damian’s whole unreliable narration you mentioned!! Because the readers KNOW that there’s something there but Damian is… a tad oblivious. Or at least clearly not as focused or observant as he usually would be! 👀

Constantine is super fun, I’m excited for him to play a larger role soon! Thank you for reading, I hope to continue to provide!! Have a nice day!
