The conversation Kol had previously been having was completely disregarded upon hearing the voice of an old, and genuine, friend. The stranger looked mildly offended before walking off, leaving Kol to glance at a face he hadn’t seen in years. His smile was rather soft, but also curious, wondering why Magnus had chosen to finally join the rebels. “Magnus Bane, what a pleasure.” He glanced down at his clothes, noticing how stained they were. He’d definitely have to change. “Times have changed, darling. I’m much too busy to be fashionable as of late.”

"A pleasure indeed," his smile was warm. It was only natural to want to greet his old friend properly considering how long they'd been estranged, but the blood staining his face and shirt made that tricky. With a wondrous shake of his head, Magnus waved a hand and conjured a damp cloth, holding it out pointedly a moment later. "Clean yourself up, handsome, so I can greet you properly. — How long has it been? A century or so?”

Watching as Kol tidied up, Magnus raised an eyebrow at his next comment, amused. “Rubbish. The world might have been completely upturned, but that is no excuse for uncleanliness. Or neglect. You and I have both lived through far darker, and dirtier eras, have we not?”

For the most part, Magnus was being serious, but he could tell the resolution of the latest war wasn’t the only thing on the Original’s mind. He sighed. “I suppose I should lend you a top, if this is all you have. I'm afraid Rebel chic isn't working for you.” Gesturing with a black matte nail for the other to follow him, Magnus fell into step beside him. “What’s going on, my dear?”

The warlock tilted his head in interest when he heard the bickering somewhere behind him, always partial to a little gossip. But he found himself taken aback once he realised who'd been talking. Equal parts curious and amused, Magnus approached the Original and the mortal stranger he’d been speaking to, interrupting before it got out of hand. “My oh my,” he tutted, only the glint in his eyes revealing the joy he felt at seeing an old friend. “Kol, my darling, I know I haven’t seen you in decades, but I thought I’d taught you to have better respect for your clothing than this. You know blood doesn’t come out easily.”
