here’s your daily reminder that gong yoo is more than a hot man in his forties. not only did he play a character who fell in love with someone who he believed to be a man - and continued to love this person regardless of gender, he also pushed production of a film about the real experiences of disabled minorities being abused. he starred in this film and at its release it sparked massive public outrage which actually forced the investigation of these crimes to be reopened. this birthed new laws that were placed in order to protect abused disabled children in south korea. and that’s not all; he’s an actor that’s been so open and honest about his difficulty in dealing with depression, his lack of confidence, self esteem and abilities as an actor as he grew to be an adult. he’s humble and kind and has been vocal about the importance of an actors platform in media. he’s so much more than a lovely looking man with fantastic heart eyes.
