Get to Know Me!

Hey there! My name is Tala. I'm a trainer from the Sonsa region—it’s a small archipelago near the equator that shares a sea with Kanto and Alola. My goal in life is to travel the world, meet new friends, and take on as many gyms as I can!

I'm currently in Kalos as a student at Shalour Trainer Academy (académie des formateurs shalour) for my secondary schooling! I have four gym badges from the region right now. Once I'm done here, I'm heading home to challenge all of the Sonsan gyms!

On my own time, I do a bit of field research on nutrition. I like experimenting with different berries in my cooking, seeing how their different properties affect Pokémon. The fact that all of them have varying dietary requirements to properly fuel themselves is fascinating. Maybe I'll open up some sort of clinic when I'm older?

As a reminder, while hybrid babies are often accidental and NOT intentional, please be aware that sometimes it is unethical to purposely try and breed "unsustainable" hybrids. Usually with conflicting type matches.

Got a litter of sprigatito who very clearly have a Incineroar as a dad and I don't think some of them are going to make it. They seem to have gained a fire typing, and it's overheating their bodies and wilting the leaves on their body. They need those, it's not optional. The ones without the fire typing will likely be fine, but a couple of these babies are definitely going to be special needs if they survive :(

[@the-spectacled-trainer] SUNNY! Spring Break feels like it was just yesterday. Give your team lots of hugs for me! I've got a full roster, so I'll answer one question for each of my guys.

Ultra Ball - How easy is it to bathe and groom your pokémon? What is needed to do so?

I just have to pick Zuma her up and place her into the tub for her low-maintenance bath fare. Really likes the scent of Pecha berry fur shampoo, so I’m currently in the market for a cheaper alternative. Absolutely loves being brushed and pampered, so I give her cuddles when I towel dry her. With Alva, I spend extra time making sure that her wings are clean. It’s important that they’re wiped down by hand with a cloth; the nooks and crannies can be infuriating at times. Monty likes soaking in the bath. I’ve caught him sleeping on more than one occasion while I scrub him down. I also have a friend at school that does Monty’s antlers for free every season! She’s planning on becoming a groomer and she needed more work to add to her portfolio. I buy her lots of baked goodies for compensation. Jenkins gets his daily dose of glass cleaner and a towel. It’s like...cleaning an actual chandelier?

Friend Ball - Do you have any close friends? How did you meet them?

Yes! My roommate in the academy dorms is great. We met because we got assigned to the same room. Both of us are international students; she’s from Unova. We've become pros at cramming for Kalosian language tests. I've been trying to convince her to get a Rotumblr account for the longest time. And I know we met on here only three months ago, Sunny, but you're an amazing friend. Thanks for showing me around Mesagoza and Levincia during Spring Break! It was such a fun experience, especially that picnic we had. Paldean food is top tier. And Baguette is such a cutie 😭

Moon Ball - If you have pokémon that have evolved, how did it happen? If they haven’t yet evolved, do you or your pokémon ever plan on doing it?

All of my team has evolved at least once! Biggie hasn’t evolved into Rhyperior yet, but he’s interested in doing it eventually. While I'm in school, I'm pretty sure I will be incapable of washing and feeding an even bigger Biggie. I also recently learned that Ruffles has a Mega Evolution form during class. I haven’t brought it up yet to him, but I know it’s going to be a strenuous journey if he chooses to take it on. I've got to do some more research on that!

Wow what a coincidence! And I see you're in Kalos too, in Yantreizh right? That's so cool!

It's pretty simple really, I was a little kid when I met her, and Seel are all white, and Alva can come from Alba, so albus, white! And I just thought it fit her too!

You can kind of say it's also the va of vague, wave, so it's even more perfect since we always go swimming together!
