Welcome to the MAHOU SHOUJO BRACKET! 

Starting on 3/2/023, with each round lasting for a day, people are welcome to vote for which magical girl they like best! 

Some of the characters were peer-submitted, but the majority of them were chosen by mod(s) themselves - as such, there may be characters here simply because the mods know them, and some characters may not be here at all.  May the best magical girl win! 

Matchup Masterlist - FAQ (below the cut) 

- I submitted something, why didn’t they make it in?  Unfortunately, we wound up filling this one up ourselves ^^;; But should we do this again in the future, we’re sure to take many more submissions to make this even better! 

- Why is [x series/character] not here?  Either the mods don’t know it very well (which is the case with precure) or they weren’t submitted before we wound up filling the bracket up. 

- Why are there male characters, I thought you said you weren’t putting those in?  Because we needed diversity and it became harder than we thought to find girls that weren’t already listed or that we knew. Plus people were submitting some anyways so it was just easier. 

- Why are there some western shows, but western submissions weren’t put in?  We aimed to keep it almost entirely anime as its “mahou shoujo” bracket, but some shows were just so well known (like Powerpuff Girls) that it was hard to not put them in! So partially a nostalgia factor, really. 

- How were the matches determined?  The list was split between the mods and then they used a name wheel to randomize the choices. Could we have done this more traditionally? Yes. But its also fun to have things be purely random. 

- Why is the text in the image so small?  Because its a huge image with lots of matches. We tried to make it more legible by making it text, and adding images, but since it didn’t really help (and the image is really only to keep track as it continues on) we typed up the matchup masterlist!
