i love coquette, i don't think i'll ever "grow out" of it. it makes me feel like i've reclaimed my girlhood that i was ripped short from. i had to grow up fast and i was preyed apon by older men at a very young age, so i had to be a "tom boy" to protect myself. i had to deal with a lot of gross people when i was 11-13, in real life and on the internet. it still happens even now, but im wiser for whatever thats worth. and now at 17 i feel like im finally living the girlhood i always wanted. however late it came, im here now and thats all that matters. i kind of hate when i see people try to justify being into coquette, there is nothing to justify. some of us are the girls who were forced to grow up too soon, who were exploited, who were shamed and shunned. even stunted emotionally. i know i was, without getting into too much detail, i had to learn to become who i was again. more than anything, being coquette is about reclaiming yourself, and loving yourself for everything you've went through regardless of it all. for being strong and allowing yourself to be soft. that's what coquette means to me. i truly do love this community. i feel at home here.
