biography:
Growing up in London, with five siblings Maia knew to be independent from a young age. Her family were extremely wealthy, and with one set of grandparents in Sydney Australia, and the other in Aurora Bay, California - Maia was definitely well traveled throughout her childhood. Between her parent's dinner parties and jet setting off to Spain for family holidays, Maia's childhood was busy and chaotic.
When the opportunity to go to college came along in the states to study art, she jumped on the chance for a change of pace, and she got just that. Most people's college years were wild, and it wasn't even that Maia's weren't - it just seemed like peace and quiet in comparison. Maia found herself a job as a tattoo apprentice whilst she was studying, it quickly became a dream of hers to own her own studio. Over this time, Maia met her first girlfriend and began to come to terms with her sexuality, even though she was left completely heartbroken by her.
After graduating, Maia had realized that working for someone else was not her thing, so she asked her parents to help her set up a studio in Chicago. Maia had already perfected her work, so finding clients to her wasn't actually that hard. Before she knew it, she had employees too. Her business was really starting to take off and so was her love life considering she had met a woman she was about to marry. Maia's life was finally falling into place.
Kids came after marriage, they spent thousands on IVF only to find out the pair were both infertile. Maia's still slightly traumatized from the whole ordeal, she never liked hospitals so being a patient and watching her wife be a patient was not easy. They could throw as much money at the situation as they liked, but it wasn't happening, so the couple decided to adopt. Wilder arrived into their house as a bustling three year old, ready to own the place and he did.
It was a few years later that Maia had a bad car accident, on her way home from work - a drunk driver crashing into her. He got away unscathed whilst she nearly ended up paralyzed from the whole ordeal. She needed months of rehabilitation before she would walk again, and she started to become depressed, withdrawing from her son and her wife. Months in hospital, more months in rehab. Sure, Maia had people working for her, but she deeply missed the person she used to be prior to her accident. On their sixth wedding anniversary, Maia's wife filed for divorce and full custody of Wilder. They were already sleeping in separate bedrooms, so this should not have been a shock to Maia, but it was. She claimed Maia was mentally unfit to look after their son, and perhaps she was somewhat right.
Nothing was finalized, but Maia got a call her grandmother in Aurora Bay was sick. She rushed to be by her side - her entire family did. Maia hadn't realized that her grandmother had left her tiny little boutique to her. A shock when the will was read. Maia then returned to Chicago, only to wrap up her business and pack her things before coming back and making herself at home in Aurora Bay.

The last time Ariya had been to the nightclub was when she had been feeling down on herself after a breakup. Something about the music and getting to dance while enjoying drinks made it much better. So here she was now, letting herself get lost in the music. It was nice and she missed this. She'd have to come here more often instead of forgetting about this place.
She finds herself moving away to where there are less bodies, accidentally bumping into someone on the way. "Oh, I'm sorry. Just had to get out of there for a bit and take a breather." She gave a small smile. "Hope you are having a good time though. I won't bother you."
Oasis was sweaty and hot, really the last place Maia wanted to be but she'd been dragged out by a couple of friends after drinks at the Reef. She was sobering up while her friends were just getting started. At 34, she felt far too fucking old to be in a night club these days.
"Oh good, you too!" Maia said, realizing the stranger might accompany her to the smoking area outside, she was still drunk enough to make friends right off the bat. "I definitely also need a break lets go, please.".
Aylin had hoped that there was some way that she could move through this divorce with nothing by style and grace, but Kodi was making this more difficult with each passing day. Getting her hands dirty was only a last resort as far as she was concerned.
"Maybe you're right," Aylin mumbled into the rim of her wine glass. "I guess we'll see."
Raising an eyebrow as she placed the wine glass back on the table. "Oh," was all she could say. The urge to psychoanalyze the situation kicked in, but she held off by forcing herself to remain silence. "That's so much to handle on your own." Gabby being in town definitely changed things for her friend. "Have you thought about askig for joint custody of Wilder?"
A flicker of worry crossed the blonde's face as she looked towards her friend. Her own divorce was so messy and heartbreaking that she was concerned for Aylin. Yes, she suggested she fight dirty, but she knew how messy it could get, Aylin still needed to fight for herself. "Divorce is still what you want, right?"
After a big gulp of her wine, Maia was quick to shake her head. "I did originally, but because I moved...like, across the whole country, it didn't go well." Things between her and Gabby just crumbled. "I don't wanna rock the boat now when she's letting me see him in case she takes that away from me." @aylinxc-s
“ yeah?” Ramsey asked when it came to the mom being accustomed to her and friendly. She just always say her and kept a can of food in her party for her when she’d stop by. She really didn’t think the cat distribution system was real but here she was with a whole litter of kittens. “ I think that’s just me always having wanted a pet growing up. “
“ yeah i think that’s would be the safest place. I definitely would want the mom. She’s really sweet and whichever kitten she is the most closest to? I wouldn’t want to take her away from all of them. “ she added before a smile appeared on her face. “ please. I think you deserve as many kittens as you want for helping me “ @maiaxanderson
"I feel you," Maia let out a small chuckle at the other woman's admission. All she wanted growing up was a pet too, she ended up with a fish. It didn't live very long - after that Maia was too scared to parent any other furry friends. At least her son could vocalise. She didn't dare tell Ramsey that though. Now that Wilder was around perhaps it would help build their relationship and she was responsible now.
"You might need to observe them for a few weeks to see which one her favorite is," Maia said it in a whisper as if the other kittens would understand get offended. "Don't tell me that I'll end up with all of them." @missxrivera
“ yeah, that’s the safest option right? I’ve literally never tried to do this before “ Ramsey admitted as she kept her eyes on the tiny little fur babies by the bush. “ yeah I’ve been sort of keeping in an eye on them in case the mom takes off. I just didn’t want to walk away to find something without anyone else here “
“ I mean the mom is nice. She’s a stray I think but she’s always been really friendly “ she admits and it was why she’d sometimes have a can of cat food in her house for her. “ that could work? Maybe the mom would follow if we take the kittens?” She asked before letting out a nervous laugh. “ maybe? I don’t think I could keep all of them but I’d definitely keep the mom and at least one of her babies with her “ @maiaxanderson
Maia crouched down beside Ramsay, careful not to spook the mother cat or the kittens. A smile forming as she watched the babies tumble around on top of each other. "If the mother cat is used to you, that's a big deal babe." She said, glancing towards the other woman.
"We could take them to the shelter? Once you decide who you want t keep, that is." Maia replied, contemplating a kitten herself. "I might even be able to have one once they're old enough." @missxrivera
Was that a hint of jealousy in the other woman's voice when she questioned if the person Gabby was here with was just a friend? It made her heart skip a beat, which Gabby was choosing to ignore, because she wasn't going to read anything into it. She was probably just hearing want she wanted to hear. "Yeah, we met at the aquarium." But Gabby chose not to clarify any further.
A breath escaped her when Maia mentioned that she looked like she wanted to bolt. "I mean... I don't have the best memories from my own prom, I'm not entirely sure I want to relive it." She hummed, glancing around. "No, it's not you." Brow furrowed a little, as she shook her head. They were on much better terms now, and Gabby was glad they'd had a proper sit down conversation before bumping into each other like this. @maiaxanderson
They were certainly doing a lot better but Gabrielle not elaborating on her friend from the aquarium did make Maia more curious. Perhaps it was a date. However, the person she was here with didn't seem to be hanging out with her so Maia wasn't sure and she wasn't going to ask. "Oh, cool." Was all she managed to say in response.
"Ah," she nodded in agreement, just thankful it wasn't her that put the brunette off being here. "You didn't ask for my advice, I know." She let out a small laugh. "But have a drink, Elle. Make some new memories. Some that replace the bad ones of your prom. Maybe we could even have a dance." @gabby-anderson
Eddie laughed, shaking his head at Maia. "Temporarily it seems." he joked as he grabbed his iced coffee. "No, I had lunch earlier. Just needed some coffee to get through the rest of my workday. But I got you next time." the man said with a smile. "How've you been, though? I haven't seen you in a while."
"Yeah I feel that," she replied as she sipped on her drink. "Though yours involves more brain power than mine." It wasn't always true, sometimes Maia had to put her brain to work. "I'm good, did I tell you my son's in town?" The blonde's face lights up mentioning her child, naturally but it also included her ex wife being here. "What about you? What's going on with you?" @eddieferguson
with summer just around the corner, isabella found herself spending a day on the beach. it was the perfect day to soak up some sun and maybe wade into the water later on. with school just out, the beach buzzed with students enjoying the start of their freedom as well. stretching out on her blanket, isa pulled out her phone to snap a photo of the sparkling waves. however, just as she was about to take the shot, someone stepped directly into the frame. " hello? " she called out, her tone light and teasing as she tried to grab their attention. " can you move a little to the side? unless you want to be the highlight of my instagram story, then please strike a pose. " // @aurorabaystarter
“Oh Jesus, I do not have enough makeup on for that this morning,” Maia calls to her as she steps out of the shot, rubbing her face. Easy for Isabella, she was gorgeous and glowing all the time. Maia felt like she needed a little bit of something even if it was just tinted moisturiser but they were at the beach attempting to get a tan so today wasn’t the day for that. She plopped herself down on the hot sand next to her. “It's a beautiful day huh? Did you get your shot?” @isabellahq

Lucy sits on a bench in the middle of the shark tunnel, looking directly up a large stingray that shared the tank gently swim over her. Delighted, she looks like a kid in a candy store watching the cartilaginous fish mosey on by.
"Look how massive it is!" She turns to her company beside her, palms clasping together im the midst of her glee. "Okay, okay, I promise we can keep moving on now. I just wanted to see the Stingray go over one more time."
"Kind of looks like a swimming pancake," Maia joked as she looked up at the stingray that glided though the water above them. She really regretted not bringing Wilder but at least she knew it was a good time to bring him next time.
"It's easy to keep you entertained," Maia grinned at the other blonde, taking a few more steps. "I don't mind if you wanna see him again." @lucydriscoll
Many of Ramsey’s days off were spent at her moms; they had been bonding more lately and since they lived close it was easy to just walk over to visit. However as soon as Ramsey was about to head up her driveway after such a visit; she heard a noise and was almost startled. “What?” She asked out loud as she followed the noise and saw a few kittens and their mom in a bush. “ oh my god “ she replied after looking at them a moment and scrambled to try to find something to catch them in so they wouldn’t be outside for too long.
After looking through her house she couldn’t seem to find anything useful. Not even a cardboard box and she walked back out to see if she could call someone for help. It was only when she heard footsteps that she was pulled from her spot next to the bushes. “ excuse me? This is gonna seem random at first but do you have a box or basket? Ideally a cat carrier would be best but I’m willing to try anything “
"A box?" Maia queried, pulling up in the driveway of her house with an expression of confusion on her features. After she got out of the car, she could hear the soft kitten cries and her eyebrows raised. "Oh, kittens!" She exclaimed, finally reaching the bush. "Good, the mom's still with them. Are they tame?" Too many questions, she needed to go find something to hold them in.
"I'll go inside and see what I can find, I don't have any cat carriers, but I probably have a few shoe boxes for the kittens. Not sure what we're gonna do with the mom though." It took Maia about ten minutes inside her house to return with two shoe boxes, both with holes cut in the lids and a couple of hand towels folded and placed in the bottom. "You gonna be a cat mama now?" @missxrivera
Maia shrugged her shoulders, "Well, it's not my fault you look hot in everything so I'm just gonna have to keep saying it." The blonde would always shower her with compliments. It was nice to be in a little lust bubble after so long, to forget about everything else being so complicated.
Listening to the brunette's history brought a wide smile to her face, it didn't surprise her that Celine was valedictorian. "Way more dope," she agreed. "Is it strange for you to be back here? I was invited to my reunion a few years ago. I didn't go. I didn't wanna go see those people again." @celineaargon
Celine rolled her eyes playfully. "I'll take it. But you look amazing, as well. Next time we go to an event together, we need to match our colors though." the woman said, bumping her hip with hers gently. While she was assuming they'd continue going to events together, but things were so far so good. There was no reason to assume others, right?
"Not really. I mean, it's definitely been a while since I last been here though." Celine said with a slight shrug. "Was high school that bad of an experience, or you just didn't fuck with people like that?"
“I was stubborn, I know. I wanted to look like seaweed, okay?” Maia then holds up her hand, her (short) nails were lilac but duochromed green in certain lights. It didn’t bother her at all that they were planning future events, in fact, she welcomed it. “I also do think that green and purple look kinda cute together.” Maia then leaned in closer to the brunette, whispering. “Plus, I may or may not have lacy lilac underwear under this dress for you to take off me later.”
The blonde shook her head, they really hadn’t discussed this sort of stuff so Maia was kind of happy she’d got the chance. “Nah, it wasn’t really a bad experience. My family is quite academic, I’m more creative.” Although she could definitely be seen as both. She was book smart and street smart at this part of her life. “I was head girl, it’s not the same valedictorian. Think, like, student body president and stuff. So I was very…involved. I think now, I’d just rather not be involved? Plus I went to private school.” @celineaargon
Nearly choking on her drink, Cherry's smile widened over the rim of her glass. "Oh my god, yes!" The college memory might've been hazier than she remembered, but it still got a laugh out of her. "Then you threw up in the plant they had in the entry to your dorm and I swear, it still smelt like puke until graduation." Her nose crinkled at just the mere thought of the smell.
"You've always been a very classy drunk," Cherry teased, knowing she was definitely one to talk. "Let's hope the straps on your dress are more secure tonight."
Maia had happily forgotten that part, blocked it out even. In her defense, there were a lot of drunken nights she'd blocked out from that time period. "That poor fucking plant did not deserve that," the memory had returned, and Maia could swear the smell had for a moment too.
She pulled on the strap of her dress with one hand, the other cupping her boob. “Nah, we’re all taped up and nipple covered in tonight.” She’d at least come prepared this time.
“I did see a nice planter box on the way in though. You might need to guard it so it’s safe from me.” @cherryxkoch

"Thank for spotting me, mate." Eddie said to the other person after he received his coffee. "The one time I leave my wallet in the office, Apple Pay would act up." he said, chuckling lightly. Being within walking distance from the coffee shop, he had decided to just stop in for a quick afternoon coffee. The barista was ready to leave it as is, knowing he'd come back to pay for it later, but the other had stepped in to cover it.
"You haven't gone broke, have you?" Maia teased her old friend, the chances of that for either of them were slim to none and she was well aware of that. The blonde motioned for him to sit as she grabbed her tea off the counter, settling back into the booth. "It's fine, next time it's on you and I'll make sure to order up large. You sure you don't want any food?" @eddieferguson
