Laurence Anyways (2012) dir. Xavier Dolan
Freak Show (2017) dir. Trudie Styler
I just finished Raw, a Belgian-French horror movie written and directed by Julia Ducournau and I am speechless. The movie brought back my love for horror. Ducournau created a piece, which makes you look away, but always peering back at the screen because you might miss something.
Accompanied by European open-mindedness, which shows in a lot of skin and a healthy amount of fuck you-attitude, the movie illustrates the struggles of Justine, the protagonist, as she starts veterinarian school as well as her new love to meat, especially human meat. All that is wrapped up with an unusual sister-relationship and common struggles of adolescents. Lastly, the school, where most of the film takes place, is kinda old and rough. Given that throughout the movie several scenes take place in vet classes and you get to see everything in detail (giving an horse Ketamin or sticking the whole arm in a cow) the title raw is pretty fitting donât you think?
Watch the movie if you like gory horror movies! You wont regret it!

i think tumblrâs idea of boys is utterly misguided at times.Â
boys are just as deserving of love as girls are. a woman fighting to break down a manâs walls is not âa waste of timeâ, a woman being concerned of a manâs mental health/feelings is not wrong. i think tumblr constantly spreads the idea that men are not worth womenâs time and that their emotions are somehow less valid than womenâs, and itâs just not true. at least not in all cases.Â
good young men who are struggling with mental illness need to know that they deserve happiness and that their feelings matter. if we constantly dismiss menâs emotions and act like theyâre not worth our time, weâre just encouraging ideas of toxic masculinity.
what catfood commercials make feeding your cat look like: *person comes into the kitchen with a smile* *cat licks its lips* *cat snuggles up to their leg softly while purring*
what feeding your cat is actually like: *cat emits loud shrieking meow in anticipation* *you nearly have a deadly accident because your cat excitedly runs between your legs as you walk to the bowl*
see also: *cat puts its head in front of the bowl just as you plop the food out, so it lands on their head*
Appendix A: *cat grabs at the dish and flips it out of your hand* Congratulations, now itâs on the floor.
