Keeping things classic - a few of the latest designs.
So, things have been very busy lately, especially now that Christmas is starting to approach, but I did want to (belatedly) share with everyone these images from Australian fashion designer / label Dion Lee's spring/summer 2015 collection, showcased recently in New York, and which incorporates the awesome Persian Dragonscale weave into several pieces.
The link should kick off at #4, because the purple / silver chain was constructed by yours truly (2mm thick wire, a mad 20 hours of solid work over three days, my hands weren't happy, but they got over it!)
Dragonscale and niobium, a couple of my favourite things together at last :)
Experimenting a bit more with scales, so tried my hand at a top
....and again with the dark purple garden theme :) The chain is a Japanese 12-2 weave in anodized aluminium
Midnight garden crown - going through something of an 'old film costume pieces' phase, this is my first attempt at something inspired by some of the stuff Theda Bara wore
Still love dragons - A stainless steel scale chain necklace - the scale chain is handcrafted with a pre-made pendant to finish.
Free registered shipping within Australia International orders of two or more items will be upgraded to registered shipping at no extra cost
After quite a lot of procrastination, umming and ahhhing, I finally took the time recently to set up an Etsy store for some of my work, with international shipping options available. I only have a handful of listings up at the moment, but you'll find a mix of some of my most popular items and a few OOAK designs there.
Water Orc Bracelet - this was done in anodized niobium, using the Orc Weave
Chain Mail Squared - a little experiment with shape, using a combination of round and square rings, with a purple glass pendant to finish
"Citrus Flower Headband / Choker" - A tutorial project designed for Digital Beading magazine: http://www.digitalbeading.com.au/
Not perfect, but much better than my last attempt at a headdress - celtic butterfly at the centre and adorned with opaque blue beads + celtic knot heart beads.
Chrysanthemum weave bracelet using enameled copper in mint and petrol, plus silver-filled rings and toggle.
I haven't had too much spare time lately, but here's a few things I've been doing...
This is a slight variation on European 4-1 to form little flower units, made with brass, and with pressed Czech glass leaf beads.
Scale armour handflower / slave bracelet (aluminium scales with silver mirror finish)
Candy Cane Cord bracelet in stainless steel
Not Tao 3 drop earrings with UV reactive rings
