Been thinking about Mai in a dress so i tried turning her outfit into a dress lol. Her original outfit resembles a hanfu (vaguely), so I went for a hanfu-style qi lolita look. 

Attempt #1 (top) is loosely inspired by Song Dynasty hanfu (cross collar top and waist-high skirt, but I added a separate waistband). 

Attempt #2 (bottom) happened when I realized her outfit is more Ming than Song lol. This time, I stuck closer to references (insp: standing collar upper garment shiling duijin shan, sleeveless jacket bijia, “horse face” pleated skirt mamian qun).

Sure, anon. I like childhood friendships. I’ll probably draw them practicing with knives next time, if I don’t get distracted by something else lol

Some headcanons:

I think Azula, Mai, Ty Lee, and Zuko learned tricks from one another, but let’s focus on these two. Mai’s knife throwing tips helped Zuko improve his firebending precision, which he demonstrated when he lit the lanterns for Jin. Maybe Mai learned close-combat knife fighting from him. 

As fellow stabby-stab enthusiasts, they “traded” decorative knives like Yu-Gi-Oh cards lol. Superstition warns against gifting someone a knife, so they arranged “exchanges.”

This was supposed to be a shitpost, but I got other ideas while working on it:

Disclaimer: These may not be canon-compatible as I've only seen two episodes of LOK so far. Tbf Mai wasn't there so it's Free Real Estate lol

Mai hunts down criminals as a White Lotus.

Their mission this time is to intercept cactus juice smugglers en route to the Fire Nation. Cactus juice is regulated in the FN.

She and a few other White Lotus members capture the smugglers, but some of the suspects have a lot to say about the Order, as shown here.

Anti-Fire Nation sentiment is alive and well because it hasn't been long since the Hundred Year War ended.

Not everyone's happy with the Order's involvement in public affairs, especially when many of their top members are Fire Nationals. Dragons are closely associated with the Fire Nation. Druk's presence isn't really helping here.

Oh and Druk knows how to be a good umbrella. He knows when to provide shade for the grumpy granny.
