KISSMET (क़िस्मत/کسمٹ/కిస్మెట్/কিসমেট/किस्मत) is a 5-member kpop-inspired south asian girl group under GEM records, consisting of Misbah, Saira, Diya, Sonia & Avantika. They debuted on April 15, 2023, with the single "Killshot" from their first album, Garden of Us.

KISSMET was formed by GEM records, a company based in Los Angeles, which the kpop boy group TXT joined in 2021 after previously being under bighit enertainment. the girl group is a multinational group, composed of members with heritage from all over south asia. preparation for GEM Record's new girl group began in 2021, which was when global auditions took officially place. the group's line up was finalised in 2022.

the group officially debuted in 2023 with a magical fairy concept (don't have the lore scripted...we will find out !!) rooted in south asian aesthetics. although the girls primarily sing in english due to it's universal nature, they are not limited to it & even have songs in their mother tongues ( hindi, urdu, telugu, bangla & nepali ). they are known for their elegant choreography, airy + pretty vocals & majestic visuals of their unique concept and styling

𓂂 ྀི𓈒 ׁ 𓊆ྀིྀི GROUP NAME MEANING 𓊇ྀི KISSMET (a re-spelling of the word KISMAT, a word used across south asia which translates to destiny) describes events that feel "meant to be" which perfectly describes the girl's desire to work with one another. it also stands for a group that doesn’t wait for destiny but rather they create their own path, which is evident in their creative freedom in their songs & choreography. they were originally supposed to be called KISMET but Misbah suggested KISSMET for a more unique touch in which the creative team admired.

　　i miss the urgency of finishing a pani puri before the vendor guy would give you another . i don't understand how they could make it so quickly , but it doesn't matter genuinely because the more the merrier . even though the price went up through that as well . however , the pani puri was sooo delish . that brings me to my married life in india dr , one of many realities settled in my motherland because i miss not waking up to the breeze and the open windows , instead of air conditioners and fans . i mean yeah india had the same , but it felt different when it was all natural and you could hear the birds chirping early in the morning . in my dr , matt ( my husband ) and i would definitely venture out after he comes home from work and i've finished my dance classes with the kids for the evening . we would head to the streets , walking hand in hand , him closest to the road because he's a gentleman , and we would find our favorite streetside pani puri stand . we've been to the man who sells them to the point he knows our exact orders and names . sometimes we switch it up on him , we meaning me , since matthew only gets the same thing every single time . dahi puri . because it's sweeter than the other options .

　　me on the other hand , i like to spice it up everytime we go . i usually pick between the same three options , but it's better than always getting dahi puri . . . yes i throw shade at my husband all the time but he knows i'm only joking . or am i ? anyways , i usually go for the dahi puri , pani puri , or the puri with the spicy things inside . . . i'm not sure what that one is called but whenever i explain it to the man , he knows . i often just get pani puri though , eight count . i could go for more , but i also steal matt's dahi puri because he always says he's not going to eat all of it . i've got a hunch that he actually would but he rather me eat it because he likes seeing me happy , i don't know i've overheard him on the phone before with his brothers saying this ! while matt stands behind me , watching the streets as he zones out and eats his dahi puri , i am competitively finishing the pani puri . i don't think the man who sells them knows this , but i'm usually racing against him and time altogether . my goal ? not let him place a single pani puri on my plate for longer than two to three seconds . right . do i accomplish that ? well yes , i'm indian ! eating pani puri quickly is like drinking water for a human . second nature .

　　after matt pays , the man hands me a random puri combination , either one of the three i always get . i'll just say being on first name basis with him has your benefits . yet little does he know he is my biggest competition . matt knows about my competitive streak , has seen it flare up first hand . he thinks it's funny , but this is serious for me . i don't know why he doesn't understand ! whatever . he can stand on the side eating his dahi puri like a dork while i fight for our honor . matt and i walk back home after , under the street lights , hand in hand , while i tell him how he should've tried a pani puri and seen me absolutely destroy the man . . .
