Thunder curdles. Thick clouds soak up the darkened skies. Pouring cold water down upon the civilians of our little townies in the boondocks of Japan.âWhy donât umbrellas exist here?âMuffled out a complaint, betwixt pouting, cold lips. The regale of purple that oft cascades their shoulders was now a slumpy sloshy mess.Rain rain, go away, come back some other--no, never come back.Ellen couldnât figure it out, their eye had the cognition to decipher the fates and ends of others, but bad weather? No, it happens on its own whim and no amount of fortune telling could alert them to that. GAIA is her own beast, and the one who permits her fortunes to be known. Ellen can only read them if she wills it, but who would willing expose their own secrets to somebody? A fool, mayhaps. GAIA is no fool, the oldest of beings to exist in this world--nay--she is the very composition of it. Without whom, nothing could exist. As the cruel rain mockingly fell atop the sickly scalp, Ellen had all but enough of this and stood upon their thin, muddied knees. This park is stupid. But even yet, there had still been one nicety to it...âAre you cold, Ellen?âA kind voice called out, in the blindspot of Ellenâs eyepatch, the seer could feel the presence of something reaching out to them. Turning only slightly to the left, that presence took shape of a hand. A familiar one too, that Ellen did not hesitate at all to grasp. Lifting their gaze, if it hadnât been apparent already, the face of a boy whom had long since vanished had appeared before them. Wearing a blue uniform of sorts, and in his other hand had been the wooden handle, connecting through a steely rod to a red covering of sorts. An umbrella!!!What was he doing here? Hadnât that man gone away in a journey to some place far away--in Canada? Ellen was at a loss for words.âI... ah... ...â *Ahem*Â âGood to see you again.âWere all the words theyâd muttered out. Circling around him once, the hand still intertwined with his, from behind. Ellen leaned forward and gave him a small hug.Under the rain, below a cold dark sky. The scene played out a variegated melody, resonating happiness and loneliness. It had felt as if the two had overcome some sort of tragedy in their separation. And if this were a film, this would be the part where the rain stops falling and the sun peaks through the clouds signalling a happy ending. But, this is reality. Such anomalies canât be expected to happen on cue!So uninterestingly enough, the rain continued to pour.âHowâve you been Ellen? I swear to Gord itâs been ages!âGrian sounded happy, and why shouldnât he be? Turning about to face Ellen, he lifts a palm to pat them on their head, smiling beneath the darkness. The duos romance had always been a different shade than the other couples in the town. They were undoubtedly an item, sure, but their affections were much purer and akin to that of a regular friendship. In kind, Ellen laughed, shutting their only eye as the precious one and only made a mess of those wet purple locks.*Zip*There was a sudden whisk in the air. Grian suddenly clung to Ellen tightly, releasing his parasol in the process, as he held their form close to his own.âGrian..? Why are you crying red...âHis eyes faded to a glass like emptiness and his mouth began to bubble red saliva. Ellen had been perplexed as to what had happened...Before it dawned on them.I once had a vision to call Grian . . .He would come back to me if I wished it hard enough, it said. But, do not be too anxious -- it added. Stray from his sights until the time is nigh.If he comes home too soon, the enemy will strike. If he comes home too soon... there wonât be a home to return too.Ellen whom had neglected their feelings as well in exchange for Grians...Ellen was warned to wait in hiding, no matter how strong the urge to see the man again, until the enemy was defeated, they mustnât ever come to pass with their lost loved one.âBut it was too soon...âEllen says sadly, glimpsing upwards beyond the horizon. Far off -- in the distance. It was Master Chief the Pie Lord, armed with a silent but deadly sniper rifle. How lamentable.
