Responding to the question of vision loss with “blind rage” is irrelevant. “Blind rage/hate” isn’t blindness. Making a connection between Tim and Gawain (in legend) for their uncontrollable anger would have made sense, and while not answering the question directly, would have done so in a roundabout way since the basis of the question is looking for commonalities.

Disabilities are neutral. When describing the terms “rage” or “hate” the word “blind” is actually referring to carelessness or an inability to think outside of that rage or hate. But blindness has nothing to do with carelessness. I know the Mechs use the term blind in this way on the album, but that doesn’t make it correct or any less negative. I don’t think we should be unnecessarily using a word for disability in such an incorrect and negative way, regardless of what the source media does. And I don’t think that this should be a hot take when the characters of the Mechanisms are all disabled and a large percent of the fans of the Mechanisms on this site are disabled.

You could do that beer moss growing trick on Brian. It would need something to hold onto, so probably mostly in the cracks between plates and particulary if he has dirt, pollen, or other organic matter collected there. The water held by the moss would contribute to corroding his metal, which we could argue would the equivalent to decomposing for the majority of his body.

Y’all know BMDs “hug” their people by sitting between their legs (while the person is standing)? Sometimes they will walk between your legs. They do not care that they will knock you off balance, they just love you that much.

IME, they aren’t guard dogs either (they were bred to pull carts, actually), which is the whole point of Cerberus. Ours would bark, sure, and immediately run to his person when something happened. But he also weighed as much as me and was afraid of little dogs. He ran to my mum as much to be protected by her as to be protective of her. Also their expected life span is 6-8 years.
