While I have expressed some playful concerns about Lenore’s decision to pose as a relative that does not exist, I have to give her some quite deserved credit here.

Forging a letter from her father that is notifying the help of ‘Leo’s’ invitation, measuring out the distance from the letterbox to help secure the appearance of a missed letter, taking advantage of how close the Vandernachets are to scandal to aid her vague but reasonable explanation to why no one would have heard of Leo before and ensuring that she would be the first person to receive any mail that arrives at the house, meaning she can be the first person to see any possible message from her father and avoid any unwanted information spreading around the house. It is good to see how on top of things she appears to be
