Obligatory addition not a day goes by where I don't wish we got to see a racially sensitive backstory for Duke that at least very broadly explores his standing as a Black man in early 1900s France whose career is performance art which heavily relies on making yourself a visual attraction. Like I haven't lost hope that it might be touched upon that the guy who sabotaged and murdered him was at least partially racially motivated i.e. fuelled by his resentment for the fact that he was an assistant to a Black man, however I fear they might be going for pure jealousy of Duke's success instead without mentioning the period-realistic race issue at all. I have more to say about how the creators handle race (barely at all) but I digress
