Important Announcement
It’s come to my attention that people are nowhere near as active as they should be. I’ve been incredibly lax on activity in this roleplay, as I know people have lives outside of it, but I feel as though it’s time I put my foot down. As stated in the rules (X) our activity limit four days. That should be plenty of time for those with busy lives and if it isn’t, simply send the main a message requesting a hiatus or a semi-hiatus. We will never reject one, we just ask that you let us know what’s happening.
Because of this, consider this post an activity warning itself. Everyone in this roleplay has until MONDAY 25TH APRIL, 10PM EST to like this post. Anyone who doesn’t will be removed immediately. This is plenty of time to like the post but I will say this - if you like it, you MUST be active. We’re going to stop being so relaxed on activity, as it’s not fair to let things slide as much as they do. I’m going to revamp this roleplay - it has so much potential and there are several events we want to do but we simply cannot do them until activity picks up.
Thank you.

★ THE SOLDIER is TWENTY FOUR years old and originally from WASHINGTON, DC. They identify as [SEXUALITY]. The role of The Soldier is OPEN.
★ BASIC BIOGRAPHY
The Soldier has always been loyal and brave and it was these qualities that made them sign up to join the military as soon as they came of age. Being a soldier was something they were good at - they could take orders, no problem, and they were smart.
It seemed as though the Soldier would stay in the military until they died. That’s what they thought anyway. It wasn’t until they were forced to see the true affects of their job that they abandoned it. Sure, they knew what they were doing - they were fighting back against the rebels. but the deaths of innocent people? That wasn’t something they wanted on their hands.
Funnily enough, the Soldier ended up finding The Resistance without really meaning to. It was purely accidental but one that has benefit them greatly - the soldier has inside knowledge of the government’s sytems and uses this to help The Resistance in any way they can, knowing they are the ones fighting for good. The government? Not so much.

Hello everyone! I have a couple of things to say regarding our roleplay so this post may be a little long, but it is important so please ensure you read it all, even if I do ramble a little!
Activity
I’m sure you’ve noticed but I’ve been very lax with activity recently, mainly due to my own being rather patchy due to work. However, I’m back to normal now and this means so should you all! I’ve noticed long periods where people have not been on and now is the time to return to normal activity. Remember, we have a four day limit. If you’re not on for four days, you get a warning and if you fail to come back after the warning or contact the main, you’ll be removed.
The OOC
I can assure you all, everyone in this roleplay is lovely and I encourage you to post in the OOC to talk to one another. How else are you going to get to know your other players and plot out events that will happen in this roleplay? Remember the plot - things are going to be pretty tough for our characters and this roleplay has the potential to be incredibly angsty. I encourage you to plot with others and see what you can think of!
Events
I’m not sure how many of you saw Thea’s post about a peaceful protest, but I thought this could be a good idea for an event; all the members would attend the protest and then things could break out and go wrong - maybe some is recognised by police and they are all forced to flee? Or maybe a riot breaks out and our characters find themselves in the middle of it?Â
I mainly just want to see if any of you would be interested in things like this happening because if you do, I’ll work on making an event post and we can make a group chatroom to play it all out in para format.
Let me know - and thank you for reading this post!

★ COMPLETE BIOGRAPHY
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to two young bohemian parents, Maverick had a very vibrant upbringing. Always well versed in art and music, he excelled in the arts - being able to bring his knowledge and experiences into the classroom. He had a real talent for music and would want to play any instrument he picked up - guitar, drums, flute. Anything possible, he wanted and his parents were more than willing to indulge him.
As soon as he started High School, Maverick started to become the victim of bullying. Not only was he one of the very few black kids at school, but he was also chubby, only wanted to dance and sing, and didn’t have many friends. It wasn’t uncommon for him to spend lunch with his head being swirled in a toilet bowl, or go home with a wedgie burn and bruises. He hated school, and soon became very timid. The less people saw him or heard him, the less he would get bullied.
The summer before his senior year, Maverick’s parents saved up all their extra money to surprise him with a much needed gift - summer camp for kids gifted and talented in the arts. Though he was apprehensive at first - having been so out of practice outside of his bedroom, and performing arts classes, Maverick went. Being surrounded my like-minded people, a whole spectrum of races and seeing how talented he really was ended up being an eyeopener for him. He knew who he was and he knew what he wanted.
Senior year was a game changer. Knowing he only had a few months left before he could leave forever and head to stardom, Maverick worked on himself. He would spent an hour in the gym every morning to work on his body, spent all the free time he had writing songs and discovering his sound and after school was filled with dance classes. If anyone had something to say about his race or his skills, Maverick ignored it and even through a few punched back when he needed to. These idiots were below him and in the end, everyone would know his name.
At eighteen, Maverick packed his bags and moved to LA. Though he was young and had no idea what to do with his life, Maverick was determined. Working a day job at a clothes store, Maverick worked on his own music - hosting his own quiet gigs and modeling on the side for some extra cash. It was a slow start, but Maverick never gave up on his dream of having his voice heard. There was a lot of hatred in the world, for young kids, people who were different, be it sexuality, race or anything society deemed as a minority - a lot of oppression and Maverick wanted to do his part to change it if he could.
After a year of no luck, Maverick started to wonder why he even bothered in chasing his dreams if the world wasn’t giving him anything in return. It was then when he started getting involved with people that he shouldn’t. He was a strong guy with a lot of confidence and it attracted the eye of one of LA’s many gangs. It was easy at first - helping punch some sense into whoever he was told to, dropping and picking up low class drugs and stealing from anyone who had apparently done the gang wrong. The money he started to get was pretty great, girls were all over him and he made some strong friends. People respected him for the first time and he thrived.
It all changed for Maverick when a group of them were caught in a street fight with another gang. It started off as nothing more than hostility but when one of the guys against them pulled out a gun, it went sour. Shot in the neck, Maverick remembered falling to the group and waiting for his trusted gang-mates to help him. The last thing he remembered before he was kicked in the face was the sight of his trusted friends running away and leaving him for dead.
Waking up in the hospital, Maverick knew he had no choice but to thank God for his survival. The bullet had only just grazed him but after losing a lot of blood, he had been out cold for a few days. Â He swore to become a better man and the woman who was lying next to him in the hospital was just the woman to help. She talked of injustice and how the new government was corrupt and how a man named Will McCarthy would help change it all for the better. From that day, Maverick swore himself to The Resistance.
Through his work with The Resistance, he finally felt as though he was working for a real cause. While he wasn’t working with them or doing odd-jobs for cash, Maverick started to write songs again. Not expecting anyone to see much of them, he wrote from his experiences, rapping about his time on the streets and his childhood being oppressed due to his race. Releasing a few videos online was all it took for him to become a sensation.
It seemed like a world wind. One day he was rapping in his bedroom and the next, he as in recording studios and on music video sets, performing concerts for thousands of people and becoming a household name. He was finally somebody and this time, he could use it for the good of the people.
Though he’s working on his second album, performing regular concerts and keeping up with the crazy life of being a celebrity, Maverick always puts time aside for The Resistance. God kept him alive for a reason - and that was to see the fight through, no matter how big he got. So much in the public eye, Maverick could use his affluence to sway others to the cause, being careful not to get himself caught in the process.

While the Veteran is proud that The Resistance is still going strong, they can’t help but worry what will happen to them if they are caught - their government has been clamping down on anyone who speaks out and the majority of members of their group are young, something which concerns the Veteran.
Due to their experience, the Leader often comes to the Veteran for advice and relies on them heavily. The Veteran has never wanted the lead role, but they are more than happy to help where they are needed.Â

How old was Will?
Will was twenty one when he formed The Resistance, and he was twenty three at the time of his death.Â
how is the government oppressing them? Both the group and the general public.
In lots of different ways, anon. Their society has changed, so think of this as an AU. People of a certain social class are considered lower-class citizen now and do not have the same rights as wealthier ones do. They live in designated areas and must obey the law or face severe punishments. If anyone differs from the norm, or if they speak out against the government, then they’ll be punished as well and can be killed or jailed for doing so.Â
The wealthy people make the rules and the poorer ones have to follow. There’s very little freedom of speech and news and media are carefully controlled by the government. Most people are just too afraid to speak out.
As for the group itself, the majority of them either faced or witnessed this oppression for most of their lives and they want to make a change. They’re in more danger than the general public because of their boldness and the fact they are determined to fight the government rather than obeying like everyone else.Â
I hope this helped!
These walls that they put up to hold us back?
It is 2015 and all across America, things are changing. The group in the Oval Office and the President of the United States are the most corrupt to date. The Resistance are a group of young adults who are determined to make a change and fight the oppressive authority of their government.
When their mentor died earlier in the year, it caused an uproar and since then, the remaining members of the group have been more vigilant than ever in taking down their so-called leaders.
They’re going to fall down.
Make A Change is a 4x4 Skeleton roleplay that allows people to explore a world of oppression and create their own characters who are members of a rebellion group, determined to fight the authority that is the government.
