in public, its no secret - they lace their fingers into your own, palms clasped tight, shoulders brushing yours. they take care to watch, mindful and weighing everything you say and the ways you react to the world around you. in particular, they're quite watchful of when other people come your way: an arm around your waist, a hasty debrief after, clearing their throat if they disapprove of someone's tone towards you.

you drift off in bed at night, cared for and adored. scooped into your f/o's arms, wrapped up tightly in their embrace, they whisper to you of how much they love you and will keep you safe. your eyelids are heavy, but youre sure, with certainty, they'll be there to remind you again in the morning.
