All you get from me this summer is artfight and gay Naruto shit. You can probably tell where I am in Shippuden based off this pic alone đ

Keep in mind Madara was in a cave, alone, for many years⌠surrounded by Hashiramaâs DNA. I doubt that chunk he took from the arm was the first he stole from him.đ
Hello Makkoska^^ ! You've been writing fanfiction for such a long time that I imagine you've probably thought about this before. One thing I especially love about your works is that your characters genuinely feel like different people. At the same time, I never get the sense that you, as the author, are taking anyone's side. It feels like every character is allowed to be themselves.
Have you ever had a character who was noticeably easier to write than others? Maybe because they shared some traits with you, so their thoughts, reactions, and decisions came naturally, almost effortlessly.
And if so, did you ever have moments of realization like, "Wait, that's exactly how I think," or "Wow, that's why I react this way in similar situations"?
More generally, how much do you analyze your characters? Do you have a clear idea of their psychology, personality type, motivations, and inner workings, or is your process more intuitive, with those things becoming clear as you write?
Ah, thank you for asking this - I considered this before from the point of view of how to write characters who feel realistic, but never tried to organise these thoughts, so let me see if I can make sense now. I hope I could answer you.
In a way it IS a bit of self-reflection, but instead of an heureka moment like that, I sometimes walk around areas of life thatâs bothering me, or personal traits in myself that could do with some digging, to understand better why I react in some situations the way I do.Â
So, for example, Hidden Behind the Leaves was a big one for my inability to let people go, whether itâs because we drifted apart or because they passed away. Lost&Found was an experiment not just for Madara to try to re-define himself, but an opportunity for me as well to think about what Iâm doing with my life.Â
There are a few, very personal stories like that hidden among all the rest.Â
Hashirama and Madara (and Tobirama and Kakuzu to a lesser degree) come fairly easy for me to write, but thatâs because I have spent lots and lots of time thinking about them. Some personality traits I give them (or rather: enlarge them, I didnât create these characters, just using them for my own needs) are certainly mine, some come from people I know well. Iâm in a long-term, often not easy relationship, so that has impact on my stories too⌠pairings I ship as well, I would say.
So, this is to say, Madame Bovary is me, but also Madame Bovary isnât just one single person in my fics, though no other character in any fandom I wrote is so close to me than Hashirama and Madara.
Itâs a bit funny with Tobirama, as I really enjoy writing him, but from a much less personal perspective. Iâm just curious to understand what makes him the way he is. That leads me to your question if I analyse my characters. Hell yes. All the time. But not so much in a forward way of âwould this character do thisâ but roundabout âthis character did this, now letâs figure out why they did itâ.
Then there is Office AU Madara. I let him have a LOT of my own personal views and thoughts on corporate life in that one!Â

I might be past 40 and not having a clear view of what my life will look like in 5 years, but I do know what stories I will be writing under those 5 years. I feel this should be enough to keep me going.
