YOU KNOW WHAT? I THINK IT’S ENTIRELY POSSIBLE QUI-GON WAS ALREADY A KNIGHT AT THIS POINT IN TIME. There have been different styles of Padawan haircuts, the short hair + rat tail isn’t mandatory, the Padawan braid is always a sign of an apprenticeship, but Qui-Gon doesn’t have any of that. There’s no braid, no beads, no set timeline for the short to take place in. Dooku calls Qui-Gon “Padawan”, but in a way that’s entirely possible like how Obi-Wan would still call Anakin “Padawan” even after he became a Knight as well. And it’s not like they forgot that! We see Caleb has his Padawan braid in the second Ahsoka short! WHICH MEANS. THESE TWO WERE STILL GOING OUT ON MISSIONS TOGETHER EVEN AFTER QUI-GON WAS KNIGHTED. THESE TWO WERE ATTACHED AT THE HIP JUST LIKE OBI-WAN AND ANAKIN WERE. THESE TWO WERE CO-DEPENDENT DIPSHITS WHO LOVED EACH OTHER AND THE OTHER JEDI WERE PROBABLY LIKE “UGH JUST SEND THE TWO OF THEM OUT ON MISSIONS TOGETHER SO THEY CAN DEAL WITH EACH OTHER” BECAUSE THEY WERE PROBABLY BOTH UTTERLY INSFUFERABLE EXCEPT TO EACH OTHER I AM CHOOSING TO BELIEVE THIS IS A LINEAGE THING THAT DOOKU STILL WENT ON MISSIONS WITH YODA EVEN AFTER HE WAS KNIGHTED AND THEY WERE INSUFFERABLE TOGETHER THAT QUI-GON WENT ON MISSIONS WITH DOOKU EVEN AFTER HE WAS KNIGHTED AND THEY WERE INSUFFERABLE TOGETHER THAT OBI-WAN WOULD HAVE GONE ON MISSIONS WITH QUI-GON EVEN AFTER HE WAS KNIGHTED AND THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN INSUFFERABLE TOGETHER AND WE KNOW THAT ANAKIN WAS STILL COPYING OBI-WAN AND BEING INSUFFERABLE WITH HIM DURING THE CLONE WARS EVEN AFTER HE WAS KNIGHTED THIS LINEAGE IS THE MOST ANNOYING EVER AND THEY ALL GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER LIKE A HOUSE ON FIRE EVEN AFTER BEING KNIGHTED
