Finished WOF arc 2!!! i cant believe im almost caught up. this has been such a fun ride!! ive been excited to learn about SilkWings and HiveWings and all the new tribes since hearing about them from a friend a while ago. let's go!!! 🐉🌟

Random thoughts/hot takes from arc 2 under the cut~ (spoilers!!)

I think i liked arc 2 as much as arc 1, but i have to say I wasnt as intrigued by some of the protagonists in a couple books. namely, Winter, Turtle, and Qilbi.

Winter is just an asshole who thinks humans are neat. well This human doesnt like him at all. im glad hes banished from the Ice Kingdom- he's nothing to me too.

I really dislike Turtle. Just a sopping wet puddle of a lizard who cant do anything because hes too afwaid. obsessed with the narrative of the books themself. Desparate to be a hero. Screwed over his sister's entire life by cursing her to be an animus like him. to save his own skin. Coward. Massively fucked everything up by the end of his book and even got his own animus magic stripped from him. Loser of the century over here.

Qilbi I just found boring. yeah he had a bad childhood but that doesnt mean you deserve to have epic cool animus powers. Im glad he didnt agree to Darkstalker's magic in the end, but the fact that it was such an issue for him throughout the entire book was annoying. brother you are advisor to the SandWing queen!! a student at Jade Mountain Acedemy!! what are you complaining about!! all you did was destroy the Sand Kingdom with a massive sandstorm that buried everything!! you suck!!

.... Speaking of Darkstalker, I was honestly really underwhelmed by how he was defeated. Struck down by... age regression??? i mean alright i guess that works but huh. hm. he's a little half-RainWing Peacemaker now. hmm. I still dont quite know how I feel about the end of Arc 2. it hit a strange note for me that I cant put my finger on.

okay enough complaining.

PERIL!!!! THE LOVE OF MY LIFE THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A BOOK FROM HER POV. i adore Peril so much. she's just like me. I feel like i have firescales too. She helped defeat Queen Scarlet once and for all! She accepted herself how she is!! She has a massive one-sided crush on Clay that's super adorable!! love love love love Peril forever. she can do no wrong. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Moon and Kinkajou are also super sweet! Kinkajou is such a little firecracker. I love her!!! And Moon is so good and genuine and awesome. I like the two of them as besties a lot ❤️

Overall I really loved arc 2, even if I disliked most of the protagonists. That's how you know it's a good story!! I also was amused by all the convoluted animus magic shenanigans. Literally anything could be anything if an animus is involved 🧐

ive decided im going to ship Peril with my Wild Manes horse oc Molly. molly would have an animus-touched accessory that makes her immune to firescales. so she can go up to peril and smooche her. and then peril would be like ‼️💢⁉️ and molly would run away like hehehehehe
