Victoria looked at Roman at the mention of drinks. Though she knew how much Taisto really wanted one, she knew it would be a bad idea to let him have more than he’d already had. “I’m not to sure about the drink option, but game night sounds like fun.” Taking Taisto’s hand in her own, the nymph squeezed it gently. Even if she didn’t show it as well as she should have, Victoria trusted Taisto to do the right thing when it came down to times like this.

Mallory shrugged. “We have some soda in our fridge, yeah, Ro?” Whatever this crazy guy’s deal was, it sounded like he needed help. She’d hold herself together for the time being.

Roman watched the two of them for a moment, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his lips. They obviously meant a lot to each other. There was something in the way he cared for her and she for him that was, refreshing to see. “Well, I’m getting off early tonight, if you guys want to go do something. Unless you have other plans for the night?” He questioned looking from Taisto then over to Mallory.

“I had plans with you, but I’ll be nice and share you,” Mallory said, blowing a quick kiss to her boyfriend. She’d been planning to give him some Mallory-style love, but she was willing to put that on hold, if only for a little while.

Roman turned to look at Taisto. His brow furrowing slightly, the mention of a moon made him start to think. “I think there is a full moon soon, isn’t there.” He wondered out-loud glancing over at Mallory.

Mallory looked up. “Right! How are you doing?” She hoped he was doing okay this month. She hadn’t noticed him getting any angrier than he might on a normal month, but the rising moon was still young.

“I think it’s been almost two months actually,” Taisto sad with a smile. Two months with Victoria, The last month had been difficult with his recovery, but it had been so much easier to get through while living with her. He finished his drink, then looked down at the empty glass. “May I have some more?”

Looking from the glass then up at Taisto, Victoria sighed. “You’ve been so good about not sneaking it lately. I think one more won’t hurt.” The nymph said softly. Kissing his cheek, she could hear the audible gag noise coming from Roman.

“You stop your gagging, babe,” Mallory said to Roman. “Like you’re so clean in public yourself.” She smiled at Victoria. “Sorry, my wolf can be a little rude sometimes.” To Taisto she said, “And so you know, a beer almost never hurts when taken in moderation.”

Victoria flicked her gaze over to Mallory. A bright smile across her lips. “So you’re Mallory. I’ve heard a lot of good things about you. I can also tell you’ve got Wolf Boy here wrapped around your pinky finger.”

“Oh, you bet I do,” she said, winking at Roman. “Been pining after this one for a year. Took him long enough to realize I loved him, but now he’s all mine.” She blew a kiss across the bar towards her wolf.

“So,” she said. “You guys live downstairs from us, yeah?”

Looking up at the familiar voice, the wolf smiled. “Hey there babe.” Quickly making her usual drink, he slid it in-front of her before making the introductions. “Mallory, meet my friend Victoria, and her boyfriend Taisto. Guys, this is my lovely girlfriend Mallory.”

Taisto. So that was the weird, foreign guy’s name. Very foreign.

“Hi,” she said. “Good to meet you.” This girl was not a threat. This guy didn’t look capable of threatening anyone. All was well. She took a sip of her drink, smiling at the taste. Roman knew just how she liked it.

He saw that look. Clearly Victoria had told this man something. “So I gather my reputation got here before me. What has Victoria told you about me? Nothing too awful I hope?” He managed to smile a little.

“Yes, she has mentioned you. All good things. Mostly that she’s madly in love with you, and you have a great ear for music.” The wolf said with a shrug. Sure there was the whole bit about trying to get him to not drink as much but, Roman figured that didn’t need to be discussed.

Mallory had gotten done with her show up the street only twenty minutes ago. She’d packed up and gone to meet Roman, hurrying just in case he was spending time with Rosemary over her. Thankfully, the vampire was nowhere to be found, but there were people talking to Roman, a guy and a girl. She recognized the guy. The crazy guy from down the hall. Did Roman know him?

“Hey, babe,” she said, sidling up and taking a seat on the other side of the girl, away from the guy who she’d once seen talking to a wall about pigeons. “What’s up?”

Rose smirked, turning back to examine her own reflection once more with an air of indifference. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, sweetheart,” she chuckled, inhaling quietly with her lips parted. She’d made the right choice - she could practically taste the anger coming off of the other woman in waves. “And the same reason I do anything, darling." She grinned again, red lips pulling back this time to expose long, pointed fangs. "Because it’s fun.”

Mallory was too pissed to be scared of fangs. On any other day, she might be, but not tonight.

She turned and stormed out of the bathroom.

Rose laughed, her head falling back slightly as she leaned against the sink. "Oh, they usually do,” she purred, offering the woman a wide, dangerous-looking grin. She kept the fangs sheathed for now, though. “Now, I’m not about to change - haven’t changed in over a century and ’m not about to start,” she smirked, expression somewhat darker now. “Darling lil’ Wolfie never minded, and he doesn’t seem to mind now. So the only one with a problem is you, doll. Don’t be pushin’ your insecurity onto me.”

Oh was Mallory pissed. She was so angry, in fact, that she couldn’t even stand to make the famous Mallory smile. “I’m not,” she said, narrowing her eyes. “And if you’re so damn secure, why be such a bitch?” She turned her back on Rose and took a step towards the door.

Rose smiled at her own reflection, before turning around and adopting a wounded look. "Kinda rude to assume, doll,“ she chided, a smirk playing at the corners of her lips. "A girl can’t be happy to see her old friend?" She shook her head, clicking her tongue disapprovingly. "Jealousy ain’t a good look, sweetheart.”

“There is no assumption. I know. I’m not a fool.” Mallory had done her fair share of flirting. More than her fair share. “If this is how you treat your friends, then your first dates must feature a home run.”

Rose hummed in response, eyeing Mallory with an air of curiosity in the mirror. She could have a lot of fun with this - Mallory probably thought she was projecting an air of confidence, but Rose could smell the anxiety coming off of her in waves. “Mm, that he is,” she agreed, with a secretive smile. “We had some good times out in Texas, I can tell ya.”

“Yeah, I wonder how he manages to get near you,” she said sweetly, tilting her head as if she were truly wondering. “You smell like something died.” She rolled her eyes. “Look, I don’t play games. You’re full of shit. Whatever you’re trying to do, it’s not gonna work, so piss off and save yourself the trouble.”

Rose already had a saccharine smile on her lips when she stepped into the bathroom. Stepping up to the mirror beside Mallory, she pulled a tube of lipstick from her jacket pocket, she leaned forwards slightly to touch up her red-painted lips. “So, you and Roman are cute,” she commented, eyes still on her own reflection as she put the lipstick away and reached up to fix her hair. “Never thought I’d see the day with ol’ Wolfie finally on a leash.”

“Never thought I’d have anyone on a leash, so it worked out. He’s a sweetheart.” She stayed where she was in front of the mirror long enough to assert herself, but then she stepped away from Rose. Rose smelled too much like perfume, but with a sickly sweet tinge under that. Vampires were dead, right? Was that the smell of death clinging to her? Whatever it was, it was the opposite of Roman’s earthy, musky smell.

“Okay, again, you’re the one who kept handing me the bottle.” The wolf said with a wide grin. Shaking his head his eyes followed Mallory as she got up. “Stay safe, and don’t talk to strangers.” He teased.

“Details, details,” she hummed, waving a hand airily. Her eyes followed Mallory as she spoke, though. The two other players in her little game were separate now - where could she have more fun? Making a split-second decision, she stood up. “I’m actually gonna pop into the little girl’s room too,” she drawled, shooting Roman a wink. “Be right back, Wolfie.”
