They were getting ready to go out, they’d decided on some place in Manchester. It was new, it’d gotten rave reviews, and honestly, Mallory was pretty excited about it. Lyssa was someone she trusted to an extent, she knew she wouldn’t judge her for her alcohol consumption, and she knew that if things got really ugly, she wouldn’t leave her behind. That was trust for Mallory, at least. A simple equation: will they leave me behind if I get plastered? and how much can I drink in front of them before they send me to rehab? She’d never been one to share her problems, or her emotions, with many people. Only Elise, Alex and Ingrid had ever made the cut. Pulling on a jacket, she laughed when she felt Lyssa’s hand on her butt. “You can touch it anytime,” she teased before checking her friend out. “Especially when you look that hot. Are you ready to go?”

It was almost midnight, which meant it was almost time for last call. It was Darlington, of course things closed early. She guzzled her drink down and grinned over at Frankie, “Dance with me before we have to leave.” As she spoke, she was pulling her up out of her chair. Once they were on the dance floor, a slow song came on, and she wrapped her arms around Frankie, “Just pretend to enjoy it, yeah?” She teased and then a glint caught her eye. Above them, there was mistletoe. Without hesitation, Mallory was kissing her. Pulling away, she grinned and kept dancing.

"would you look at that"
As promised, Mallory was taking Joslyn out for her Christmas drink. They were at a bar just outside of town, the bar was supposed to have a band that night. And they did... unfortunately. The bar was fully decorated in Christmas decor, and the band was playing Christmas carols. “I’m not drunk enough for this,” Mallory whispered to the girl, laughing at the scene before her. It looked like it was straight out of Elf. She walked over to the bar and ordered multiple shots to make things a little more bearable, and before long, they were. Instead of annoying, it became hilarious. “Let’s check this out closer,” she suggested, standing, and pulling Joslyn up so she could actually walk. A couple of steps in and she saw mistletoe, although they weren’t standing underneath it, Mallory was kissing Joslyn. “Now the night’s a little more bearable,” she stated as she pulled away.

Mallory had dragged her into the mall, quite literally, to help with Christmas presents. Most people were fairly easy, but once she got around to Nora’s, she’d completely blanked. She’d forgotten how goddamn hard Christmas presents were to buy, and Elise, well, she was genius at everything. She’d help her (and probably come up with something a thousand times more brilliant). As they roamed the halls, Mallory noticed the mistletoe. With a mischevious glint in her eye, she looked at her best friend and muttered, “Come here.” She pulled her under the plastic plant and kissed her sweetly. “Thanks for coming,” she said, pressing her lips against Elise’s once more.

The first thing that Mallory noticed was the eyes. They were bright blue, so different from all the red and green she’d seen at the ridiculous Christmas party. In her drunken haze, they grabbed her attention. All of the girl had grabbed her attention, and she knew that she’d never seen her before, and had never met her before. She was memorable (at least her appearance was). She walked over to her, ready to say something, maybe just hello, and then voila! They were stood under the mistletoe. She pressed a soft kiss to the stranger’s lips with one hand around her neck. Pulling away, she said, “Merry Christmas.” And then left her standing there. Smooth.

The party had goddamn sucked. Really, she expected better, but at least she was with Myra and honestly, the blonde could make anything fun. They’d danced for most of the night, in between shots, and ignored how many men in suits were in attendance (most of which hadn’t even bothered to hide their stares, although they’d never bothered to get off their asses either). Breathless, Mallory pulled her friend back to the bar. After ordering them another round, she looked up to see mistletoe hanging above their heads. She grabbed Myra aound the waist and pulled her to her, capturing her in a passionate kiss. As she pulled away, she smiled, “I am definitely going to have to do that again.”
“There are a few things in life I am addicted to, Macarons happen to be one of them and I like to share them with you. As if you ever needed to pretend with me. Come on, you can have your own bottle.”
“That’s fair. My only addiction happens to be gelato, although Darlington doesn’t make it like home does. If they did though, I’d share with you, promise. Is this true love?”

“I was on the fence about Amsterdam, but it was when you brought up sharing a dog that I took the leap over. Well if it’s only a vacation, there really isn’t a reason for me to say no. Oh wait! When does this vacation happen? I have to notify the school that I may need a substitute. Wanderlust is a beagle. Don’t try to steal him though, no matter how lovable he may be.”
“Understandable, it’s a reasonable thing to be on the fence about. You just never know what kind of person invites you to Amsterdam randomly. It can happen whenever you want it to, I’m just an artist, I can whisk myself away whenever I want to. He sounds adorable. For me, I was thinking a husky or an American bulldog. Thoughts?”
“I have 2 bottles of Jameson and Macarons waiting, are you in or out? We can start planning out for New Years.”
“You had me a Macarons, you always have the real ones. Well, actually you had me at Jameson, but I was worried I may sound like an alcoholic.”
“Both of those questions can be answered with one word; me. Though I am going to have to ask a few questions first myself before I can be fully committed. Now would we be moving to Amsterdam? Or is this just a vacation? Also are we going to be sharing a dog you already have or are we sharing my dog? I can live with two dogs.”
“I like your attitude, it’s to the point. Of course, of course, you need to validate me as a candidate for both. Nope, just a vacation. I haven’t got a dog yet, it’s something that I’ve always wanted but finally feel fully ready to commit to. What kind of dog do you have?”
“I just have two questions. First, who can I take to Amsterdam with me? And second, who can I have shared custody over a dog with?”
