I like that Mickey is canonically an asshole. I like that he’s a thug and a hardcore criminal. He’s soft for Ian and only for Ian. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again hundred times. Mickey revels in his criminality. He enjoys it. It’s who he is. Even when he gets out of that environment, I think he’s restless without it. Again, he chose to work for the Mexican cartel. He canonically doesn’t like people. He’s a traumatised person, of course he is, but by saying that he only acts the way he does because of his trauma and he’s a sensitive softie at the end of it all does a disservice to both, the complexities of his character, and Shameless/writers/Noel/rest of the cast because each character on Shameless is complex, a product of their environment, and so morally grey, and that’s what Shameless does, it strips every one of them down to the bare bones of raw humanity and it’s still multi faceted anyway. Yes, Mickey’s thug identity is partially down to trauma and Terry’s influence. But even when he starts to have the space to be who he wants to be, (e.g Groomzilla) he still is canonically an asshole, he’s still a thug, he’s still violent and aggressive, he’s still barbaric, not just because of Terry, but because that’s Mickey. Mickey is wonderfully complex. He loves and he loves fierce hard but he can be soft with those he loves. But it’s not just tenderness, he’s capable of violence as an act of love-almost killed Sammi, did not give a fuck she was dead, locked her body in a crate. Straight up tries to kill Ian and beat the shit out of Lip in Mandy’s defense. Mickey shows his love through aggression as well as tenderness. He’s complex, he enjoys his criminality, he enjoys the fact that he’s rough, he just has someone he can let the walls down with a little. And he can be dickish to Ian too, but that’s okay because Ian can take it as good as he gives and are we forgetting that fighting is canonically their foreplay.

I love, love soft Mickey. But I love the fact that his softness is a part of his complex character. I love that he’s violent and rough too. I love that he’s not a good person because nobody in Shameless is a good person, but his redeeming qualities are so fucking beautiful. I love him being a good uncle, I love him being gentle around Ian, letting Ian be tender with him, I love him being close to the Gallaghers, I love him being sweet with Mandy, I like reading it and I like writing it. But I also love when he’s angry and aggressive and rude and barbaric and snappy.

If you have children, especially girls I really don’t understand living there and raising kids. I don’t care if Austin is the cheapest place in the US to live, the people who live there and Texas in general with kids get side eyed so hard from me.

I found pod called Financial Audit that is filmed in Austin the people from there he brings on are goblins and so gross and bad with money it’s like watching Jerry Springer trying to get people to have an emergency fund, and stop raiding their kids college fund to be Disney adults. One Austin couple spent 10k taking their 2 year old to Disney for his birthday, by stealing from their kids college fund that their parents set up for their grand kids.

i tried so hard to see the other side but i just can't. i don't know how Jensen fans who defend him do it. Cas' "i love you" was a love confession, loud and proud and clear and beautiful. the fact that Jensen had to twist into a coming-out from a son to a father makes so little fucking sense that i just can't see him as anything but uncomfortable with Cas' queer love confession

I can defend how he did it and what he said. I don’t honestly get how he could have did it any differently than he did. I don’t think during that confrontation there was wiggle room for him to be more gracious than he was, and I think a lot of Misha fans were looking for an excuse to hate on Jensen and they found it at Purcon.

Like i get being taken aback for a second but this months long victimization over his answer is a bit much to take, there is no reason people should still have this in their teeth a month later.

There was something said either during the gold or main in which Jared made some cheap joke about Dean dying on a rebar. I remember my first reaction was what a shitty thing to do. But then I remembered that all that mattered to him was being the last man standing and that’s all.
