The kids that roamed around High Scores weren’t the type to listen to any adults. Even when he started working back at the arcade when he was sixteen he couldn’t manage to get them to listen and they were essentially all just his shorter peers. Shouting found to be the only way he could even be heard above the chaos of games and hollering with the edition of Christmas tunes blasted through the radio. “How’d you get that cast?” Ian asked but instantly regretted it. He got a gut feeling around anyone who was injured in the mall unfortunately assuming the worst. “My partner recently got theirs off after an accident,” he put as vaguely as possible. “Yeah there’s always glitter in my apartment even when it isn’t Christmas,” he admitted. Art supplies found their way into most things in his apartment and glitter was a particularly sticky one. Watching as she helped pick up snowflakes snapped Ian into action. “Oh thanks,” he began taking them from her. “I feel this place is kept too dark for anyone to see any of this anyway.” He likely wouldn’t be stringing much more up for awhile the whole act felt a little unfruitful having had one of his nine lives flash before his eyes as he’d wobbled in the air.
“Own, I would love to tell you the story, but I haven’t found the way of telling it without looking stupid” when she looks at him, it’s almost like she knows what he is thinking, with all those incidents it was hard put your mind on something else “but you can sign it if you want… I mean, since you have experience with your partner, right? I need a professional” she offers a wide smile, those that make her dimples appear, hoping to easy the air. “Really? What is a bit of glitter on your food and carpet and whole live in exchange for all this Christmas cheer, to bring so much joy to these kids?” she dramatizes a little on that way her boss always does, ‘who doesn’t take a hit for the team?’ as them would say. “Employees support each other” she leads out, in lieu of a ‘you are welcome’, and then she cast a look at the snowflakes “Regardless of that, you still did an amazing job, I think, like a little hidden Christmas ceiling decoration treasure… perhaps the light of the machines will reflect into them, and you will have a discotheque effect?” or perhaps she is jut thinking to hard about it, she returns her attention to the brunette, suddenly reminding the reason of her visit to the arcade, a place so unknown to her “I, actually, wanted to exchange some tickets, but there’s no one at the front, perhaps you could...?”

“god- i hate this season. i hope there was no snow on the way- it always happens.” she spoke mainly for herself, but if it served the other as some kind of inform, then so be it. “i don’t know- like ten minutes? ten hours? it’s felt like a whole life time.” she rolled her eyes. “i’m just bored, don’t mind me. i hope it doesn’t take them too long.”
"that sounds god awful, like the setting for a horror christmas movie" she regrets the last part as soon as is out of her lips, it wasn't like they weren't living one, all the holiday cheer almost make her forget "well, at least being outside it's nice?" robin smiles, amused by the rolled eyes "oh, don't worry, perhaps we can do something while we wait? do you- do you want to build a snowman?"

jupiter gasped , hands in gloves wet from snow coming up to cover his shocked expression as he stared at what he had done . his friend had already fled the scene , having bolted down the icy sidewalk out of view , and now jupiter was left to take the entire blame . “ i am so so so sorry . ” he winced as he stepped closer to the person now covered in snow . “ i was aiming for my friend , i didn’t see you coming , you happened to step right in front of him just as i had already thrown it . ” the anxiety made him squirm ; he felt nothing short of guilty and a little terrified after having thrown a large snowball at an unsuspecting victim . “ i’m really so sorry - please , what can i do to make it right ? ”
Robin panted for air as she could feel the snow filling her mouth and nose, choking on her own drowned words, as the projectile reach to her in the middle of a sentence, she coughs a little, bending forwards, with her hands trying to shake the cold flakes out of her face, feeling more humiliated than harm. Hearing the true guiltiness on the male voice, she tries to be not that angry when she finally glares at him, though, the flushed cheeks and unfriendly pout might give her true feelings away “I forgive you” and then, an ugly pause, for a minute Robin has the childish desire of say that there is nothing he could do, the day is already ruin, but then she lets a laugh “quite a meet we just have, isn't it?” she bothers to give him an easy smile, as usual, her anger lasts as long as the blink of an eye “I think a hot chocolate would make me feel a one hundred percent better”.

“could you, please, stop with that? it’s making me nervous” she pleaded, looking more tired than angry, feeling that what was left of her patience hanging by a thread.
maybe it was a bad idea to not wear a jacket today . really , when hayden had first left , it wasn’t that cold . now , as it gets darker and darker , he can feel the cool breeze become stronger with each passing moment , causing him to shiver . what he really needed was a smoke . a joint sat tucked behind his ear , and hayden digs around the pockets of his ripped black jeans for his tye dye lighter , with no luck . that’s when he remembers – shit , i left that in another pair of jeans . unprepared as ever , he has something to smoke but no lighter , how could this be ? he curses under his breath , the weather not seeming relevant at all anymore , since his main priority now was finding something to light up with . “ hey . you’d really be my night and shining armor right now if you said yes , but …. do you have a lighter ? ” @shrikestart
at first, robin foolishly thought that her experience in the sport would make store shifts more bearable, it was a mistake, of course, and with the holiday season hot on her heels, the shifts seemed to lengthen as the days passed, she didn't enjoy getting out of work at night and not having a car to go back to her house, especially with the situation of the murderers hanging in the air, so she constantly had to remind herself the reasons why she stayed in town, and as she heads to the bus stop, nightdreaming of hot chocolates and warm sheets, the interruption of the male voice gives her a start, robin looks at him, uneasily for a second, until the words 'my knight in shining armor' reach her ears, then a smile breaks on her face “as much as I would love to be that, I don’t have any” robin gives him a sad look in a lieu of an apology “you must be freezing” she guesses, a sudden concern filling her words “…maybe a guard from the mall will lend us one?”.
open to all ( @shrikestart )
“hey- do you know if the delivery truck came already?” rory asked the first mall worker walking out the mall’s service door. “please tell me i haven’t.” she begged, mostly for her own mind- she had been waiting for what it seemed HOURS.
“Uh, i think the truck is coming a little late today?... perhaps more than a little late?” Robin wants to put on a reassuring smile, although the exchange with the other has created doubts for herself “Shouldn't I be the one asking you? how long have you been waiting?”

HERBERT stood in the middle of the food court, scanning all of his options. he was there for a minute. five. could’ve been ten. he didn’t know, a half century could’ve passed and he’d be none the wiser. herbert stared at all of the different menus and displays with an almost hawk-like precision. maybe all of this indecision had something to do with the joint he smoked in the bathroom about thirty minutes before his shift ended, but that wasn’t on his mind right now. there wasn’t anything on his mind, actually. “god. fuck.” he sighed, tossing his head back with the slightest hint of dramatic flair. he turned to the person next to him who, if he were being honest, he kind of forgot was even there at all. “now d’you think—do you think i should go, like, sweet? or maybe savory. what if i went crazy and did both. i could be crazy. i could do both. what do you think? i’ve been suffocated with affordable meal options, man. what a horrible way to die.”
Having company at lunchtime was always welcome, at the beginning that job would generally be relegated to one of her siblings, but it seemed that the more time she spent in town the less she could see them, contrary to her wishes, of course, but apparently inevitable. The curse on the other's lips brought her back to reality. She looked up at him, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips "everything okay?" and it was a shame she didn't know him well enough to notice any different between a bad or good day, a joke or serious comment. “Oh, I think you should do both, why limited yourself with all those affordable meals options?” Robin accompanies her words with a slight laugh “You know? When I was little, I loved to dip my fries on my milkshake and just eat them like that… I’m not saying you should try, but” she gives a light shrug, and her smiles widens.

Ian wasn’t sure why the arcade needed a wintery makeover and yet here he was on top of a step stool stringing garland across the wall. They didn’t even sell anything there other than an experience and he was sure kids forced into their holiday sweaters weren’t going to be more drawn to the arcade simply because there were snowflakes taped to the prize counter. Still, he’d rather decorate the arcade over a number of tasks on his list. He was in the middle of pinning some tinsel up when a flurry of kids came running past him nearly knocking him off his step stool as they tipped over the box of decorations sending ornaments rolling across the floor.
“Hey! No running in the arcade!” He shouted at the chaos that’d stormed by him. Fortunately he hadn’t ended up falling over and immediately got off the ladder to assess the scene. “Careful,” he cautioned someone who’d unfortunately had been witness to the incident. “I’m not sure what all spilled out but you get any of this glitter on you it won’t come off,” he explained as he went to work shoving glittery baubles back in the box. The last thing he needed was someone stepping on a tack.
"Be careful, children, you do not want to trip and fall" Robin raises her plastered wrist as a warning, as if the little ones were really paying attention, and is that she is more entertained than annoyed by the chaotic scene, and the shiny trinkets that fall at her feet end up being more interesting, exchange a quick glance between these and the employee. "Eh, don't worry, the worst thing that could have happened to me has already happened" she lets a laugh escape her lips "You tell me, I still have glitter on my hair from when I decorated my store, my shower, from days ago, looks like the day after the parade… I guess I already said too much" she gives him a smile, one of those that make the dimples appear on her cheeks, just before leaning over to pick some snowflakes that ended up on the carpet “Here you have…” .
