homework ritual (esp fr ADD/ADHD)
i know this is long so you can reblog as a link but if u have an attn disorder and responsibilities you should really read this. okay so A Thing: people with ad/hd are prone to resisting ritual. because we like being excited, we like doing the things we like to do, and we like to be stimulated. that really sucks because the only way to form a good habit is to keep at it regularly as possible. however, we must squash these compulsions (and it wont be so painful when u get it—it is OK if you CANT DO IT AT FIRST), if there is a continual responsibility to be attended to—like homework for example! this may also be able to apply to when you really try to write or draw idk
PREP
close all ‘non-essential’ tabs, which basically just means everything that isnt homework. bookmark stuff u wanna get to later but re-open NOTHING. if you have to actually make a new tab and type in ‘tumblr’ you will catch yourself, and realize you have your work
(^^^ this in itself may make you think that homework is now easy. NOP)
put your phone on the other side of the room. i’m serious. put it on the other side of the room, or in the bathroom, or somewhere else. if you hear it vibrate you can check it later and you WILL check it later. if it rings then FINE you can answer it you loophole loving papaya
get a jug/bottle/big container of water, keep it near you
DO NOT LISTEN TO MUSIC IF YOU ARE DOING HW, studies show its not actually effective. when you’re studying, instrumental music is acceptable, but when youre Creating Content you should not have distractions of any kind (and youll be inclined to change the song, agonize over what song should play, think about the song etc)
DURING
stay hydrated! take breaks by taking long drinks of water while checking your phone. try to limit it to like 15 minutes before going back
take a break every 20 minutes, then every 30 minutes. 30 minutes is a good timeframe but you can train yourself to concentrate longer and longer. i have v severe adhd but i can now sit and study for about 3 hours before getting out of control tbh
have something you can squeeze, fidget with, etc to discourage nail biting or something else that will come of the fact that youre not Doing anything. i find chewing gum to be very stimulating
try to just get into it. find some angle to appreciate what you’re doing. not about how pointless or boring it is but how much you’ll learn, how you’re exercising self control, feel prideful and Good Enough
FINISH IT NOW. either you’ll have more free time in the future, or you’ll be cramming the end of that project on the due date. just do it. do the thing. you can do it. take a break and then DO IT
AFTER
whatever the fuck u want u marvelous firebird
Have a happy, fun, and safe Independence Day from all of us at Writer’s Relief!
What is better than a little cabin in the woods?
A big cabin in the woods of course!!!
Why I made this page
I made this page because I had to quit smoking. Yes, I had to because i got sick, and my doctor told me in one year's time I was going to have to use oxygen or have a hole in my throat. I got so scared I quit smoking that same day. I had been a smoker for 22 years. Almost 2 packs a day I smoked; and God knows I tried so many times to quit, 27 times to be exact. I was so scared...but now I had no choice. Nothing like the fear of death or illness knocking at your door to knock some sense into you. My second daughter was pregnant at the time and I just wasn’t ready to leave this world, or lose my voice, or look scary for my grandkids! So with a little help from electronic cigarettes, patches, and a lot of help from the man upstairs, I quit!!!
I did not go anywhere for 10 days, not the supermarket, and told all my family members who smoked that if they visited me they could not smoke in front of me, I really needed their support. Thankfully they complied. And here I am, 4 years later. Healed! With now 11 grandchildren, and not worried about being the scary grandma!
When I finally went out, I saw soooooooo many smokers. It was torture, I am not gonna lie. So I holed up in my house for another 10 days. Then I got sick, and the muscles relaxers the doctor gave me made me want to smoke so badly, i had one or two, at a party at my house, but thankfully my family and friends decided not to smoke around me when they saw the torture on my face. The actually hid to smoke. And I survived that party, called my doc the next day and he switched my meds.
Then it got easier, and easier, and here I am. Tell you the truth I never thought I could do it. I had tried so many times. But when I realized cigarettes weren’t my friends, and saw them as my executioners, as murderers, I started to hate them, and things got way better.
So believe me when I tell you, you can quit too. Cigarettes have you brainwashed, a slave to them, but they are INANIMATE objects, so you can beat them. A little prayer or meditation, lots of water, a change in habits, a clean smelling house and car and a good plan. It’s really like any other project... Only this one will save your life!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust! Serves 2 to 4 people
Ingredients:
1 medium sized head of cauliflower 1 egg, beaten 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried basil ½ teaspoon garlic powder a few shakes of crushed red pepper (optional) ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese ¼ cup mozzarella cheese pinch of salt Amy’s Tomato and Basil Sauce Desired toppings (e.g. olives, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc.)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400F, then get to work on your crust.
Step 1: Pulse batches of raw cauliflower florets in a food processor, until a rice-like texture is achieved.
Step 2: Fill a large pot with about an inch of water, and bring it to a boil. Add the “rice” and cover; let it cook for about 4-5 minutes. Drain into a fine-mesh strainer.
step 3: Once you’ve strained the rice, transfer it to a clean, thin dishtowel. Wrap, twist it up, then squeeze all the excess moisture out! (Be careful not to burn your hands!)
Step 4: In a large bowl, mix up your strained rice, beaten egg, cheese, and spices.
Step 5: Transfer the dough out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spray with non-stick oil.
Bake for 35-40 minutes at 400F. Crust should be firm, and golden brown when finished.
Step 6: Spread Amy’s Tomato and Basil Sauce, cheese, and desired toppings!
(we used vegan mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and black olives)
Step 7: Return the pizza to the 400F oven, and bake an additional 5-10 minutes, just until the cheese is hot and bubbly.
Then slice and serve immediately! Enjoy!
This looks so yummy, can’t wait to try it!
If you are a little lost on your “purpose” you might want to read these awesome books. Especially if you don’t really know what you want to do with your life, but you know you can do better.
Some days, 24 hours is too much to stay put in, so I take the day hour by hour, moment by moment. I break the task, the challenge, the fear into small, bite-size pieces. I can handle a piece of fear, depression, anger, pain, sadness, loneliness, illness. I actually put my hands up to my face, one next to each eye, like blinders on a horse.

Hello, My name is Glenda Vidal and as you may know my brother just passed away. It was all very sudden, and he had no funeral arrangements set up. This gofundme is to help his widow pay for the funeral services. This is the most economic we found that includes, autopsy care, 1 day of viewing...
We had almost raised enough money to cremate my lil brother, but there won't be enough for a viewing. The funeral home needs a total of $4K to be able to have a viewing and we are still at least 2k short. If you would like to donate here are 3 ways to do so:
1-Through the link below ( faster) 2-If you have a big donation, try directly to the funeral home: Dobies Funeral Home at (727) 841-7555 Ask for Ken and let him know is regarding Eddy Caballer 's funeral and that you would like to donate directly. (that way no fees will be discounted when we get it) 3-Or in Puerto Rico through ATH móvil using 787-242-1510
This has been a tragedy no one saw coming. If you can help, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. His wife Sandra and sons really need this.
Awesome weekend. Worked out, walked 3.5 miles, did a little disc golf, ate well, and rested. Have a great week everyone
Today I applied at Lims to study Production Management for movies, tv shows, etc. Getting one step closer to my goal.
We asked 15 successful entrepreneurs to share their best tips to stay healthy while working for a startup business.
Very good ideas on how to squeeze time stay healthy no matter how insane your work hours are. Remember, you only have one body, and if you don’t take care of your health it really doesn’t matter how successful you are...when you are dead.
And that is the important thing. Go after that dream. Don’t stop, do not be discouraged. Believe. One thing leads to another and in a blink of an eye, you will be where you want to be.
