Salud! 🍾🥃 #LaQueSabeSabe https://www.instagram.com/p/B21YJZeBatz/?igshid=x9ahprc79b46

This is me trying to see some of the patches my chiropractor placed yesterday. Patches were all over my back to support manage a stress discomfort. She asked me yesterday; “How many people do you support weekly as a healer?” Having no idea where she was going I gave an approximate to later hear her say “ For every 3 people you support on their journey, you must do something to comfort and heal your body”. And I think she has a tremendous point. Healing your body while trying to supports others healing is challenging. Reality is that this is the first time in my 6 years in Chicago that I’m able to afford a Chiropractor for more than one initial appointment. I’d usually only had the opportunity to take care of my back thanks to the Community Healing spaces many beautiful people organized, in the name of Healing a Justice. Without them I wouldn’t have done anything. Self care shouldn’t be a privilege, yet it really is. I’m thankful for Community Organizers into the Healing Justice groups in Chicago healing our people, specially the ones with less access. ♥️ https://www.instagram.com/p/B2jhO19hzZR/?igshid=1h4gea282w09r

This is going to be my week’s motto! ✊🏽♥️ Posted @withrepost • @fatlibink I’ve been thinking a lot about how we resolve conflict, how we treat each other as we try to survive and transform our existing societal nightmare. I’m listening to the campaign we started last month about #NoBodyIsDisposable as a way to connect experiences of marginalized bodies with Systems of disposability, specifically ICE and the governments in the so-called US and around the world that commit genocide after genocide in service of white supremacy and power. I want to look at how disposability culture is a tool of dominance, and how we use it as a way to tear up our own communities. While it might feel satisfying to do a public call out, or “cancel” someone, I see it creating dangerous rifts in our community/ies. I say “dangerous” because we need to seriously be joining together right now in the biggest struggle we’ve had, for our lives, and the lives of the planet. We don’t have to like each other, or love each other, or have perfect trust. But I believe we do need to work together, and build our collective power toward getting through this mess and maybe having a world our kids and nibblings and other creatures could grow up in. So I’m offering this as a plea, to myself and all of you, Fat comrades, friends and allies: let’s try and be kind to each other, even when we don’t like each other, even when we’ve been hurt. I’m not saying let someone walk all over you — boundaries can be a form of kindness to both yourself and others. I’m not saying ignore your pain — honoring it and being honest about it are kindnesses too. I’m not saying we all have to be friends — work with folks who help you thrive, as much as possible. That’s kindness too. I’m saying let’s stop using our energy to take each other down, and instead look toward the bigger thing/s we need to be taking down right now. And let’s find ways to support each other in that direction. Are you with me? . I’d love if folks would share supportive resources here for countering disposability culture. . Thanks for listening. —max . [image from @amithystfist] https://www.instagram.com/p/B2eH_PQhoaa/?igshid=1rt3gpfljcxo6
