I’m sorry you haven’t been able to wear your puppy ears, but I’m glad to hear you’ll be able to again soon! I’m very proud of you for not wearing the ears, even though you wanted to. It can be hard to not have the things that bring us comfort. It was very smart of you to wait until you were better so they didn’t hurt you!

• still have to answer emails, make appointments, go to work/school, or handle grown-up responsibilities even when they feel tiny inside ☁️

• learned “adult coping skills” really young because they had to survive difficult situations 🫂

• are good at comforting everyone else, but secretly wish someone would comfort them too 🌷

• feel guilty for regressing because they think they should always be mature, productive, or independent 🌧️

• mask their autism, anxiety, trauma, or emotions all day long and only feel safe enough to be soft when they’re alone ⭐

• are caretakers, older siblings, organizers, helpers, advocates, or the “responsible one” in their friend group 🍵

• still know how to budget, cook, clean, solve problems, and handle crises while also loving plushies, cartoons, coloring, or bedtime stories 🎀

• regress quietly and don’t always look like the “stereotypical” little one people imagine 📚

• use regression as comfort, healing, grounding, sensory regulation, or a safe place to rest their mind 💜

• feel embarrassed about needing gentleness even though they give gentleness to everyone else 🌸

you still deserve naps, snacks, comfort items, safe people, encouragement, cuddles, and the chance to feel small without having to earn it first!! 🧸✨
