Once you get this it would be cool if you posted ten facts about yourself and then passed this along to ten of your favorite followers đ

1. I live on the south side of Chicago, and I really love it. I always take a deep relieved breath coming home after Iâve been traveling outside the city.
2. Iâve been in fandom for 17 years. My best friend in college introduced me to Xena fandom (and then the next year, other friends got me into Buffy & Harry Potter slash), and Iâve gone through about 15 other fandoms since then.
3. That said, Iâve been fannish even longer than that - I started reading SF in middle school, and I remember typing up Darkover fanfiction (not that I knew to call it that) in the computer lab in eight grade. I printed it out on dot-matrix paper. Sadly, that story is long gone, along with most of my middle-school memorabilia.
4. I started knitting in graduate school because I needed something to do with my hands during boring lectures and irritating classroom discussions. Now I have more scarves than I know what to do with, because irritating classroom discussions have mutated into irritating meetings post-grad school.
5. I grew up on the East Coast, but I have no plans to leave the midwest.
6. I really donât like being in leadership positions.
7. Somehow, despite #6, and despite being closer to agnostic than anything else, Iâm a council member at my church.
8. I decided to start jogging about two months ago using a Couch to 5K plan, without any intention of actually ever doing a 5K. I both really enjoy it and really hate it at the same time. I donât know, endorphins are weird.Â
9. I am a hockey fan, even though I feel pretty ambivalent about hockey at the moment for political reasons.
10. Iâm often unsure whether Iâm doing what Iâm supposed to with my life.Â

Ok, I would do this except these ten facts about @shdwsilk are actually already about me. Though I live on the far north side of Chicago. And all I learned to do in grad school was swing wildly between hubris and self-doubt.
