“Lets go,” Roni said as she walked downstairs to the playroom opening the door “Hi baby, remember when I showed you pictures of daddy?” she said as the little girl ran over to him

“Of course you can, do you wanna go down to her or do you want her to come up here to us?” Veronica asked

“Yes baby.” Aaron kissed her for the first time in a while. “Does Kelsea think I abandoned her?”

Veronica ran her fingers up his back softly and returned the kiss “No, she doesn’t, I told her the truth and she understood,”

“It’s become a good thing that you never changed your name back.” He laughed, tentatively wrapping his arms around her waist. “I would say absolutely. i’m tired of living with my brother.”

“I’m honestly glad I didn’t, I never wanted to go back I only see my future with you,” the woman said as she put her arms around his torso and smiled up at him. “Come back home, babe,”

“Then why did we even get a divorce?” Aaron asked, wiping her eyes. “I don’t think I could ever stop loving you.”

“I-I don’t know because I could never love another man, not ever,” Veronica said as she looked at the male “If I asked you to come back home, would you please? I can’t do this life thing without you,”

“I thought this was what you wanted.” He sighed as he watched the little girl leave. Aaron walked up to her. “I love you.”

“I never wanted any of this, Aaron, I never wanted to lose you,” the woman said as she sniffled wiping her cheeks with her sleeves. “You still love me? Even after all of this?”

“I was mad because I didn’t want a divorce to begin with.” He sighed. “I missed out on so much for what? I spent three years thinking you got bored of our family and met someone else.” He looked down

“Why didn’t you ever tell me that, Aaron?” she said as she set Kelsea down “Can you downstairs and play honey?” she asked as the little girl ran downstairs and she looked at Aaron “I could never find anyone else, Aaron, not ever,”

The second those words escaped her mouth Aaron went numb. “What?” The love of his life kept his child a secret for years. He was robbed of all her firsts. “Why? Why did you not tell me Veronica?” He never called her Veronica unless he was angry or serious.

“Aaron, we were getting divorced and barely wanted anything to do with me as it was, I didn’t tell you I was pregnant because I didn’t want you to feel trapped at all,” the woman said “Then you assumed she was someone else’s and I just hated it, I didn’t wanna fight with you”

Aaron was caught off guard by the conversation with Veronica so he quickly left the house he lived in with Alex and drove to her house which was their house. He let himself in using his key. “Roni? What is going on?”

Veronica held Kelsea on her hip as she heard the door and walked downstairs “Aaron, hey,” the woman said as she looked at the male “I’d like to introduce you to Kelsea Vanessa Burriss, your daughter, she was never anyone elses,” the woman said as the tears formed in her eyes.
