Thank you! And yes, we started dating early summer this year, so we’ve had a lot of firsts together lately. It’s been really, really special.
Oh, that is special. I do remember the firsts with my husband. It really is so special.
Oh, that’s so lovely to hear! Family time is always the best, right? And mine was great too! My boyfriend and I spent our first Christmas together, getting to meet and spend time with each other’s families. It made everything feel extra special.
Family time is the best. I am glad that you two had a great time too. The first one? That is always special.
That makes a lot of sense. When something that consuming ends, it leaves a very particular quiet behind, even when you’ve experienced it before. Having family around to redirect that energy sounds like a real gift, even if it’s a different kind of busy altogether. Sometimes that change of focus helps everything settle more naturally. It’s good you’ve had that support around you!
I am still getting used to it though. It does help that my husband was at one point in the show for quite a while so he knew exactly how I feel now. Haha.
That makes sense! The buildup is such a big part of the magic. How did you end up enjoying the holiday? Was it a good one?
I agree. It is a big part of it. Oh, it was so much fun. It always is with my family. How was yours?
That makes complete sense. When something so familiar suddenly stops, it’s hard to know where to place yourself for a while. That in-between space can feel oddly disorienting, even when you’re enjoying parts of it. I’m glad you’re allowing yourself to sit in it rather than rushing to fill it. What’s been helping you settle into the adjustment so far?
Yeah. You can say that again. It feel the same when I had been in We Will Rock You and then I finished that. I would have to say that my family have helped me. They have kept me busy...just in a different way.
I’m sure that’s a big change, but it must feel nice being home for the holidays, right? I’ve been getting ready too, trying to slow down and enjoy the season a bit more. It really snuck up this year!
I mean, I was always home for Christmas. But not having as much time for all the stuff leading up to it. It is nice to be home though. I agree. It has really snuck up this year.
That makes sense. When something that busy suddenly falls away, the quiet can feel very noticeable, especially around this time of year. I imagine it’s a strange adjustment after being so immersed for so long, but there’s also something quite nice about having a bit of breathing room again. I’m really glad to hear things are going well for you. Are you enjoying having a slower stretch, or does it still feel like you’re finding your footing?
It is a strange adjustment. Even in the first week after leaving the show. Honestly, it is kind of in the middle. I am enjoying it, but I am also like...still getting used to it.
"I bet it is and you get to do things you want as well. I can imagine. It would be fun to do my own makeup for shows. Maybe I can convince the staff to let me try one day. That sounds like a good time though plus I can imagine there's a bit of bonding together as well."
You should see if they will let you try it one day. Oh, it is a good time. It is some great bonding time. It does help that two of us are sisters.
How did the kids like setting up the tree? Was there any arguments happening? Khais an only child so she doesn't have to work with others to decorate.
My older two aren't that bothered as they are teenagers. But the younger ones, they were excited. But there was a few 'I want to put that one on. No I want to.'
It’s impossible to keep up once they reach that age. I feel like the list of “things they’re into” grows by the day. K-pop Demon Hunters is at least a very impressive place to start. I’m doing well, thank you. It’s nice to meet you, Mazz. How are things going for the end of your 2025?
It either grows or completely changes. I am glad to hear you are doing well, Emily. It is nice to meet you too. Things are going great. Quieter than it was last Christmas considering I am not doing the show anymore.
Sebstan: I’m so incredibly jealous. I’m beyond behind. I have so many people to shop for and all I have done is my wife and one kid so far 😭 @.mazzmurray
MazzMurray: You have probably been busy. I have had more time this year as I am not doing the show anymore. @.sebstan
MazzMurray: All sorted for Christmas. I think. #therewillbesomething
I’m starting to think my daughters take personal joy in reminding me I’m officially no longer fluent in Tween Wishlist Language. Every year I try to keep up, and every year they slide something across the table that makes me question whether they’re messing with me or if this is genuinely what kids are into now. Not everything, mind you - they're really into K-Pop Demon Hunters right now (who isn't?) so my oldest wants a few pairs of shoes from the Vans collab they did. That I can do. But my youngest has been asking nonstop for something called a Fuggler? And twelve different scents and textures of slime? I've no clue where to even begin. But hi, I'm Emily if we've never met before, and I need to know any other ideas you've got that would appease my girls whilst not getting slime all over my new carpets. @hfrpstarters
My older two are pretty much teenagers now so that is one thing I can't keep up with. There is so many thing they are into these days. I have heard of K-Pop Demon Hunters. So thats something. Haha. Hi, Emily. How are you doing? I'm Mazz.
how is everyone feeling nearly a week away from christmas eve? did we finish our shopping or are we stalling some? i want to know about the good, bad, and ugly of the holiday season. (@hfrpstarters)
I think it is all done. I am sure it is. Maybe a few small bits when it comes to the food. Are you all finished with the shopping?
Totally fair! So, what’s been keeping you busy lately? Are you gearing up for the holiday madness?
Oh, the children have been keeping me busy. Usually I am still doing a show up until Christmas Eve but not this year. I am getting ready for it. You?
no worries, you can if you'd like but i also know not everything is for everyone. just being proud of my work, really. great meeting you as well, mazz. very nice name you have. i don't really do them, just sometimes see or hear things and i think i'd like to check out now, haha. i'm doing quite well actually, how about yourself ?
You never know until you give it a go so we will see when I get the chance. Thank you. It is actually Marianne but everyone calls me Mazz. Yeah, there is always some kind of trend thing going on. I am glad to hear you are doing well. I am fine, thank you.
