The last fic I published was back in January thatâs really sad
Apologies for not writing anything, again, university has been killing all inspiration to write anything. My writing might be rusty, so this might just be a bit of a warm up into getting back into writing!
With the Chronicles of a Fallen Warrior series, I guess this is a follow up to this fic, even if I said there wasnât going to be a follow up to this. Not proofread, but itâs whatever I guess. D:
CW: Mentions of physical and verbal abuse, blood, mentions attempted murder, bodily harm, character deaths(non canon characters)
The House of Lamentation stood in complete silence as the wind blew furiously at the brothers through the broken window. Courtesy of Mammon after his outburst and the realization as they would never change themselves for him. As if the skies were outraged with the rumble of thunder and an impending shower started to fall upon them, all the brothers do is let those words sink into them.
âIf I knew this was the family Iâd have after we fell, I would have never followed you Lucifer.â âMaybe if youâd all let me die, Iâd be lucky enough to go back to the Celestial Realm. And never see any of you again for as long as I live.â
It was a betrayal to their brotherhood, they had treated him like they would with the lower demons. Worst than that, they treated him like an animal, with disregard to how he felt and how they had treated him over the years. Mammon suffered in silence and never fought back, all for the brothers to thrive in their literal hell. He forever loved them, even with his body, heart, and soul, his very being was beaten down by them over and over again. But yet he still put his brothers first.
They failed their big brother. Mammon had sacrificed his well being to make sure they had it good. He was the one who tried to keep them together and safe from the new dangers of the Devildom. He was the one who had decided to take on the challenge in raising the raging ball of wrath that was Satan. Mammonâs favor towards his brothers was why they got to live it up. At the cost of his own happiness, even if he gave them the world.
He failed his favorite little brother and his right hand. He may have been a gleeful sadist and never outwardly showed affection to his brothers as the Avatar of Pride, but now it was his sin that brought his brother down. Mammon had kept the family together while he grappled with their fall and the deal with Diavolo about Lilith. How could he have repaid Mammon back in kind with such cruelty and Mammon stilled called them his brothers, his family?
Demons they were, but the bond between the brothers were supposed to be stronger than anything else in the universe. Yet the bond must have been at breaking point if Mammon of all demons had gotten so outraged by them. Did he even want to come back to them even if they would be kinder to him?
Such wishful thinking.Â
Mammon is the fastest demon in all of the Devildom, it is a known fact. Not even the most powerful demons, Diavolo and Lucifer could match his speed. And even in his weakened state, Mammon knew he was leagues ahead of his brothers if they chose to foolishly pursue him.
The rain had turned into a downpour and hindered Mammon from heading towards the casino districts where heâd feel more at home. The constant thundering gave way to lightning that danced across the dark night, not wanting to get struck by the elements, Mammon flies into an abandoned warehouse near the district.Â
Crashing through the worn down windows, glass shatters as Mammon crash lands into a pile of cardboard boxes and into the old and worn packing peanuts. He groans as he groggily lifts himself out of the pile and hobbles to the closest wall and leans against it, at least he was sheltered from the rain with a conveyer belt hanging overhead.
âFuck me man...â The Avatar groans as he feels over his wounds, he grimaces as he still felt the wounds still healing. The wounds were healing, thanks to the work of Satan or Lucifer. He closes his eyes as the thoughts, along with the tears started forming.
Would his brothers treat him with more kindness now that they almost lost him? What if it happened again? Was he worth the trouble? Was it worth the insults and the physical torment from his brothers? Why did it take near death for them to realize that they could have lost him forever?
Maybe if they did, all their troubles would just go away. The perpetual burdens that he shouldered upon them, the shame and embarrassment that came from him; that the brothers would rather pretend that he didnât exist. His constant sin of greed was always punished, whereas his brothers were barely acknowledged. Maybe a slap on the wrist for them while the more crueler punishments were always reserved for him. Â
He knew one thing, he was tired. So tired of being the designated stress ball, punching bag, and the target of their problems. Since when was it decided that he was the whipping boy for everything that went wrong in this family? Did he deserve it though? If he died instead of Lilith, would the brothers have acted the same?
Oh god Lilith.
If Lilith was here instead of him, they wouldnât have all the problems that Mammon brought with him. No one would be complaining of their belongings going missing and the complaints of Mammon just being himself and his sin, all their troubles would have just disappeared. Maybe he should have died instead of her, everyone would be happier. The thought itself was almost too tempting to fulfil for the needs of his brothers.
Would that solve all his brothersâ troubles once and for all?
He screams loudly at the thought, the sound echoing through the empty warehouse, soon being muted by the loud sound of thunder boomed up high. The Avatar soon found sleep with his thoughts as the sound of the rain soon lessened over the hours. He must have made a decision then, a set frown gracing his facial features.
Morning came as the storm had subsided, leaving the Devildom streets slick with rainwater dripping down from building signs and puddles formed on the sidewalk. The citizens could have sworn it was Lotan who caused the storm last night as the day before was a bit of a dry heat.
Things seemed normal as everyday folk went on with their day, a crowd gathered around some dead bodies that stuck out in a nearby alleyway. Mangled limbs that had been tossed around like rag dolls, the rain had washed away the blood. Of course there wouldnât be a case if there wasnât enough evidence on who committed the act. The passerby-s would glance and continue on their way and made their comments on such a sight and the bodies were either eaten by the gluttony demons or claimed by family.Â
It was the way of the Devildom as demons would either kill or be killed to survive. Â
Mammon walked past the scene as he headed down into the Devildom slums, the last place any of his brothers would find him. Knowing them, they were desperately looking for him in the casinos or the horse racing downs. He scoffs and wryly chuckles, as if his brothers would actually go out and find him.
If anything, the thought of his brothers looking for him and wanting him to be home with them was laughable. If something like this happened to Lilith, they would have dropped everything just to have her safe and home with them. Him though? They would have waited days, maybe weeks after and then wonder where he was, and then theyâd act on finding him.
As the glittering streets of the Devildom soon turned into the dirt cobblestone pathways, Mammon looks up at the less than stellar housings and the lesser demons who stared at him as he walked through the neighborhood. Some stared with raised eyebrows, others with forced reverence for the Avatar, and some acknowledged his presence before going on with their business. Itâd be the perfect place for him to reside in, after all, what better place to house a scumbag like himself?
A raven caws and lands onto Mammonâs shoulder and nuzzles against his head, reprieving him of his thoughts. Mammon gives the familiar a small smile and strokes the raven, it caws lowly before cooing into Mammonâs ear, âReally now? They said that?â He shakes his head as he continues on his way.
His brothers? Kind to him? Back then maybe when they were little cherubs and little demon, but right now? It didnât seem likely now, and maybe not in the future.
Stopping in front of one of the housing projects, Mammon knocks on the door, his ring clinking against the worn down entrance. Silence at first, but the sounds of footsteps shuffling to the door soon came as the occupant opens the door slightly ajar. âWho is it?â A demonessâ voice quivered on the other side as she dared not look out.
âItâs me Prislea.â Mammon answers as he remains where he stands before hearing the frantic fumbling of the door locks coming undone. And Mammon yelped as he was dragged inside before the door was locked back up once more.
The small dwelling where Mammon was pulled in was common for the lesser demons of the slum as he stood in what was more or less a living room. As Mammon groans and rubs his arm and turns towards the demoness, giving a small smile. âYa look well, I mean, what happened last night and all.â Mammon starts as he gives the latter a once over and frowns as he rubs the back of his head.Â
The pale demoness rubs her arm and nods as she wrinkled her nose at the white haired demon. Her ebony locks contrasted greatly against her pasty skin as Mammon could see bruises from the night before on her arms and wrists. Bright topaz eyes shyly looked up at Mammon as she lets out a sigh, the smell of blood wasnât lost on her despite the healing spells from his brothers. âYes, thanks to you of course.â she replies before going quiet and gives the Avatar a weak smile, âYou didnât have to go and do that Lord Mammon.â
Mammon shakes his head and shrugs, âListen dollface, it was nothin the Great Mammon couldnât handle. And whaddaya mean? Course I had to do somethin. I wasnât about ta leave yer boys without their ma now.â He gives her an equally weak smile as he plops down on the worn sofa, dust popping off as he sat, âAnd consider ya account with them demons closed, ya ainât gotta pay money to no loan sharks now.âÂ
âWhere are tha boys anyways?â he asks as the demoness turns her head towards the sound of footsteps coming from the other room, âSpeak of the Devil-â âMamma! Iâm hungry!â Out from the back bedroom were two demon boys, little carbon copies of their mother, but with citrine orbs, though just as equally bright as herâs.
âMr. Mammon!â the boys chirped loudly with joys as the jumped onto where Mammon was and let out a squawk as they piled on him. âAy! Easy now boys!â he cautioned, even with his wounds healing, they still felt tender. The second born lifts the older boy off him and chuckles.
âYou beat the bad guys, didja Mr. Mammon?â The younger boy asks him as the older one tries to get a hold of Mammonâs attention, âCourse he did! Thatâs why heâs here!â Mammon was in a fit of squawks and chuckles as he tried to pry the boys off of him and Prislea shakes her head. âCome on boys, get off Lord Mammon, heâs still recovering.â The boys groan as they did as they were told and Mammon gives the boys a half smile, âOf course!~ There ainât nothin the Great Mammon canât do!âÂ
Mammon ruffles both boys on the head, âHowâs about the Great Mammon treat ya to some lunch? On me!â he offers as the two boy light up as they turned to their mother.
âCan we Ma?â The younger one asks as he bounces around her, and the older one nods fervently and tugs on her hand, âPlease Ma!? Can we get some real food this time?â Shooting Mammon a look of âlook what you didâ, Prislea sighs and relents to the pleading eyes of her sons, âI suppose if itâs Lord Mammonâs offer, we shouldnât decline it.â
Well fuck. Mammon left the house without his DDD and his wallet of course. His mouth always did find a way to get him into trouble and this was no different. Well, there was no time to turn back as he followed Prislea and her boys to a small cafe just outside the slums.
As the boys skipped ahead of the grown ups, Prislea noticed how quiet Mammon was as she nudged the Avatar, âSomething wrong Lord Mammon? You donât have to do this for us.â The demoness looks ahead to keep an eye on her boys before turning back to Mammon.
âWha-? Oi. Of course I gotta, gotta make it up to ya after last night. Yer boys got the scare of their lives of course...I couldnât let âem lose ya. I mean...They ainât got a papa around..Sooo...â Mammon trails off as the demoness comfortingly puts a hand on his arm.
âYouâre uncharacteristically kind for a demon Lord Mammon.â she comments as she chuckles, âIt seems your angelic traits havenât been lost even after your fall. Your brothers are lucky.â She hears her boys call for her and Mammon as she shakes her head and continues on her way.
Mammon shudders, the early years in the Devildom was quite the troubled times for the angel turned demons. Not only did they had to transition into demons, they had to deal with the ball of wrath that was Satan. Mammon did what he could to keep his family together. He tried so hard to protect his younger brothers, though Lucifer seemed to come in time to steal the thunder from him.Â
All Mammon did was for the good of his family, so why was it he was paid back in pain and suffering? Mammon couldnât remember Lucifer punishing any of his younger siblings with the severity dealt on him.Â
Satan and Beelzebubâs penchant to destroy and consume, Asmoâs partying and revolving doors of lovers brought to the house as his brothers looked the other way, Leviathanâs constant cursed games from his Akuzon purchases causing trouble for the boys, Belphegor using the baby status of the family letting get away with just about anything and everything, and Lucifer. Dear god, if this is what he got for loyally following his big brother to the depths of hell, then maybe he might as well quit while he was still ahead.Â
It was only fair that they got what they give.Â
âMr. Mammon!â The younger of the boys called for him as Mammon shakes his head and catches up with them. The younger one leans forward and squints at Mammon as he tilts his head, âWhatâs the matter? You ainât hungry? You still hurt?âÂ
Mammon chuckles as tussles the youngerâs hair, âNah. Iâm aâight. Ainât nothing the Great Mammon can take!â The older brother nods as he pushes the door open, âOf course he is! Heâs the Avatar of Greed, heâs the second strongest, heâs tough!âÂ
Mammon chuckles as the family heads on in, though it dies down as heâs left outside for a moment. The title of the âsecond strongestâ, it didnât really mean much to his brothers, did it? They were lucky he never unleashed what he was truly capable of was onto them for all they did to him. He could easy wipe the floor with them, and maybe put up one hell of a fight with Lucifer if it came down to it.
âTough huh. Iâm tough. Iâm so tough I can handle anything...Except my own damn brothers.â Mammon shakes his head as he heads on in.
âJus put it on my tab!â Well damn, his mouth struck again, but he wasnât going to heave this on Prislea and her boys. Mammon said heâd pay off the tab if he could just get his beloved Goldie. He had assured the staff at the cafe that heâd return with payment if theyâd give him a chance to head back to the House of Lamentation.
Mammon dreaded coming back to the House of Lamentation, especially with his brothers being there, probably planning to be all sweet and kind to him. All he needed was his DDD plus the charger, and his wallet. Heâd never step into the house again.
Mammon crept over to where the window to his room was. The window looked like it was untouched, perhaps unlocked even. Perhaps it was a trap to lure him in and his brothers would get him then.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
Stepping into his room, it was surprisingly clean and organized, nothing like it was normally was. He had been expecting Leviathan to trash it, in the search of the figure he never stole. Or Satan coming in to trash his room as well, itâd be understandable that the fourth born would trash the room since last night?
And now was the part where his brothers jumped him, right?
Yet there was silence as Mammon silently shuffles around to gather his essentials. Reaching for his wallet and the phone charger, he frowns at his beloved Demonio 666 Lexura. How the hell was he supposed to get that out of here without his brothers knowing he was here? He huffed, some sacrifices had to be made.
The House of Lamentation was no longer a home to him if he was the only one singled out for his sin and inappropriately being punished for it. For so long he had to endure the punishments so Lucifer didnât punish his little brothers. And in turn, his little brothers followed Luciferâs footsteps in abusing and insulting him. Lucifer always called Mammon his favorite brother. Favorite brother to take out all his frustrations and to get off on his sadistic pleasures. By now he was sure he wasnât even considered a brother if theyâd continue this treatment of him, it was easy to cut his losses now.
Mammon takes what he needs as he lets out an exhausted sigh, and he heads towards the window. Not before a warm and familiar wind gently engulfs him what he figured was a hug.Â
âIâm sorry Lilith, I just canât do this anymore.âÂ
And with that, Mammon leaves the familiarity and safety of the House of Lamentation. Since then, the crows and ravens that hung around the house were no longer seen or heard. The House remains silent as Mammonâs absence was felt, the brothers could go on with their business, yet there was a gaping hole that theyâve tried to cover up. One that always tore open if the second born was ever mentioned.Â
Another sibling lost to the brothersâ actions, and one that could have easily avoided. But then again, they got what they deserved, didnât they?

A/N : So itâs been awhile since I wrote anything, this was mostly to see if I could back into my writing, so this might not be the best thing I wrote. Hated how I ended it but I didnât know how to end it.  Still, I might bang out some other fics when I get back into my writing groove. Thanks again for reading!
Had this at the bottom of my drafts(since Dec 2nd 2021 yikes), I did say U&Me would be written next, but I decided to plow through this since the motivation for it is long gone so it might not be good. Not proofread and somewhat coherent. Have a long fic for the lack of content here!
Another Replaced!AU. Inspired by this but with a spin where MC goes to the Datables instead of going on her own.
(Aftermath)
Feat. Poly!FemMC x Brothers and the Datables. MC is female here, their child will be referred as they/them.
The father of the child will depend on the reader, will be written as he/him.
CW/TW : Angst, mentions of alcohol, mentions of childbirth. Brothers being ooc
It was late. You marked another day off your calendar which could mean one thing, along with the other symptoms you had been experiencing. Not only did you miss your period, you had recent bouts of morning sickness, and how fatigued you felt recently. There were no other explanations for how you were feeling so it had to mean one thing. How the act happened seemed so long ago as your hand rested over your growing belly.
So Iâm borrowing an idea from my dear moot @rainiishowersâ(check them out btw ^^) and this request since Iâm in a writing rut, I wanted to do something short and angsty. Enjoy the subpar content! :â)
A/N : This ended up being longer than expected. Oops. And it might have lost the plot somewhere as this is probably just word vomit at this point. Probably not proof read, so let me know if thereâs anything missing!
CW/TW: ch 16 spoilers, angst, bodily harm, no comfort(?)
Pacts with demons.Â
To angels, such a deal with the diabolical beings was a foolish thing for a human to forge. To have utter disregard for their soul to have power of a demon waiting in the wings, or to be foolish to believe that making a pact with a demon would grant them their greatest wishes.
In return for your soul to be dragged down into hell, in the possession of a demon. There was no salvation for you once you got to this stage. But for you, your soul, pure and shiny in the eyes of hungry demons. Would be split by the seven demons who were no different in pulling you in different directions at once, just to have your company.
At the price of your own well being, in which you would selflessly put aside just to appease the brothers.
And yet here you were, marching down to Purgatory Hall to seek the power of the witty sorcerer himself with the angels at your heels.
âAre you sure you want to do this MC?â Simeon questions as you stop in front of Solomonâs door. You pause before you knock and turn to gaze upon the worried faces of the angels.Â
âWill you stop me Simeon?â You ask, by now your usual cheery tone had been broken down and drained of all life. You look to your little brother, Luke had been unsure about this. âAnd you Luke?â
He was right in not to trust demons, he did try to tell you after all. And you chose not to listen. So in having seven pacts with the Avatars, Luke had wondered why you did so. You didnât tell him but, he knew something must have gone awry if that was the case.
âBut you wonât have the demonâs protection...Not that youâd need it in the human world.â Luke murmurs and you turn around and patted his head. âNo. I wonât be needing them when I go back home. Where I belong.â
Two knocks on the door and an answer came next, âCome in.â
You knew there was no going back.
âOnce you break a pact with a demon, you can never make the same pact with the same demon again. Nor will you be bonded to them in any way.â Solomon explains as he observes how tight Luke was holding your hand, and how Simeon held your shoulders in support.
And you had lost your glow, you lost your light. The human innocence that could only be eaten away by the actions of demons. Tired eyes were pleading with him to break off pacts which he would envy, in order to return to normalcy.
Perhaps you should have stayed here with him and the angels from the very beginning. None of this would have happened to you.
âYes.â You reply, with the utmost of confidence you had left. âPlease Solomon. Itâs all I ask of you.â You nearly beg as you knew your time in the Devildom was coming to an end, what better way to end it off with a bang?
Solomon gathers every material needed to start the ritual, and takes in your form. The only human he allowed himself to get close to, had been bearing the brunt of every wants and needs from the Avatar. You had confided to him, and to Simeon about the attic incident, Lilith, and the aftermath.Â
The sudden change of the brothersâ behavior and treatment of you was overwhelming. You had thought they had adored you, for you, and how you pieced the broken brothers together and reformed their family. But on the account that you were Lilithâs descendant? That seemed to be the only thing theyâve come to value you as.Â
âLilith this, and Lilith that. Lilith did that too...Lilith would never do a thing like that! Hey Lilith- I mean MC.â That was all you heard from the brothers now, you were just a replacement for their lost sister. It wouldnât be surprising if they were trying to mold you into her liking. They didnât see you as MC anymore, did they?Â
You couldnât help but feel betrayed not only by them, but by Diavolo and Barbatos, whom knew about your lineage the entire time. You were just a pawn in their game of getting the family back together again. Your death was quickly forgotten about, swept under the rug in order for Belphegor to make amends with his brothers. Â
âMC. Come. Let us begin.â Solomon calls for you as you settle down on the couch. Both angels were at your side as Luke holds your hand, âWill it hurt them?â The little angel inquires as Solomon shakes his head, âNot physically. But it will take a mental and emotional toll on them.â
Solomon gently strokes your head before having to begin. âThis will be exhausting MC, but I assure you, we will be here to protect you when itâs all said and done.â
You nod as Solomon begins the ritual, chanting in Latin as both angels held your hand in theirs. You closed your eyes and took in a breath, you told yourself you were doing the best thing for yourself.
Soon you feel the pacts leave your body, you wince as if you feel the visceral bonds with the brothers breaking. Your eyes fought to stay awake, yet the sorcerer was not kidding on how it took a toll on your physical state. You were just an ordinary human beneath the pacts of the demons after all.
You felt your eyes droop as your energy was spent, and you were off into what seemed to be the comfortable sleep youâve taken in a long while. The Purgatory Trio being the last thing you heard before you succumbed to exhaustion.
It wasnât like you were seeking a pact in the infancy of the exchange program, the only thing on your mind was to stay alive in the demon world for a year. And then you would be free.
It wasnât like you signed up to be the family therapist, to have all the brothersâ problems heaved upon you. All the while of your problems being on the backburner while they went on and on about theirs?
It all started with the two tsundere brothers who dragged you into their problems.
Make a pact with Mammon so heâd give back the money he owed to Leviathan. But that never panned out, did it?
Then came along that voice that called you in the middle of the night, begging for you to help him. Making that pact with Leviathan so you can get past Lucifer and find out for yourself on who was calling you.
And there it started, you made pacts with Belphegorâs brothers to free him and to make amends with Lucifer. Beelzebub, Asmodeus, and Satanâs pacts soon followed. And it was then were you able to free Belphegor and hoped that the latter would make amends with Lucifer. Thus finally reforming the family once more.Â
If only it were that simple.
You had died that day, Belphegor showed no remorse in killing you, nor did he apologize once you were brought back to life. Now that you thought about it, not one of the demon brothers, nor did those two Royal demons apologized to you after putting your life in danger.Â
Belphegor only apologized to Lilith though, never to you.
The months of your silent suffering, they had forgot all about the incident. Of course they did, it wasnât like they were the ones who truly suffered. The long nights of you crying yourself to sleep and the phantom pain of your neck being crushed by invisible hands. It was a wonder you got any sleep.Â
You had constantly kept a sharp object on hand and every time you saw Belphegor or he wanted your time, you wanted to die all over again. Every time he touched you, you couldnât help but recoil and pull away from him. Much to the disappointment of him and how all the other brothers didnât pick up on it.
And when you had been offered a pact from Belphegor, and when you had asked of Luciferâs pact. Extra leads to put on the dogs to keep them in line, right? An unofficial and unspoken apology for everything theyâve done to you?
What other use did you have for these pacts then? They were useless in the grand scheme of things. Pacts were a sign of trust between both parties, werenât they? These pacts were made out of a lie.Â
It was their turn to face the consequences of their actions.
âI canât believe MCâs goin back to tha human world.â Mammon mutters as the brothers settle into their seats at the Student Council Hall. The very same place he had met you, it seemed so long ago and they all knew it had to end.
âOh? Whatâs that? Is Mammon going to miss MC?â Asmo teases as the latterâs face turns red and he crosses his arms, âWhat?! The Great Mammon missing some human? Shut yer mouth!â
âAwh~ See? You are going to miss them~~â Asmo snickers as Satan sighs and rubs his temple, âJust admit youâre going to miss them. We all are.â The fourth born points out as a hush comes over them all.
âWeâre all going to miss them, they fixed our family. Theyâre a part of our family now.â Beelzebub points out as the brothers collectively nod. Lucifer especially, even the mightiest of the Avatars couldnât fix his family without the help of a human. The same human who managed to worm their way through his family and their hearts, especially his.
To think a human would have such an effect on the Avatars of Sin. A human did the unthinkable and reformed the once broken family. Of course the Avatars were grateful, once knowing of your true lineage of course.
âItâs not fair.â Levi complains as Belphie shoots all of them a glare, âThatâs my line! I didnât get to spend that much time with MC compared to you all.â The youngest complained loudly as Diavolo and Barbatos step into the room.Â
âThen the exchange program was a grand idea, wasnât it?â Diavolo chimes in as he smiles at the brothers, the Avatars were back together once more, thanks to his program. âItâs all thanks to MC being here in the Devildom.â
âBesides, there will be more opportunities to see MC. Maybe weâll visit them in the human world.â Lucifer comments as his brothersâ mood lighten up. Though he shares the same sentiment of the baby of the family. Oh how he regretted putting MC through so much to protect his family.
Belphegor scoffs as he chooses to ignore the Prince, speaking of MC, where was their little human? They had been dodgy of late, rather than being with the brothers, they had been visiting Purgatory Hall more often than not. As if the second born was reading his mind, he quickly rises from his seat as heâd rush out and seek you out as usual.
âHey, we should get MC ova here-â Mammon suggests before he stops short before he clutches his chest. He feels it tightening as if something or someone was choking the air out of him. A sinister snicker from what sounded like Belphegor echoed in the back of his mind as he looked to the baby of the family, whose eyes bore into Mammon, as if they were mocking him. âFuck...My chest is hurtin.â Mammon groans as he gasps for air.
âDo we have to get a report on everything your body does something?â Satan remarks as Asmodeus sighs as fiddles with a nail, âJust ignore him Satan, heâs doing for attention. How sad.â he mutters as Mammon groans once more.
âNo...MC...Ya canât go...!â Mammon wails as he drops down, his arms hugged at his chest, âMCâs...MCâs...I canât feel âem!â He gasps for air as Lucifer rushes over to his right hand, âMammon?! What..is going on?â
A sudden and sharp cry comes from Leviathan as his game console drops to the floor, and just like his older brother, he was clutching his chest. âCanât..breathe...!â he pants out as his body shook violently and the about same words left his lips. âMC...Theyâre gone..Canât feel them!!â
âWhat is going on?!â Lucifer looks to the Royals for answers before a loud thud hits the ground, and a loud howl came from Beelzebub this time as he fallen under the same effect of the other two brothers.
âItâs MC...I canât-â Beelzebub groans loudly as he clutches his neck, âBreathe-â he gasped out the last word, his twin starting to feel the effects from the twin telepathy as his own chest started to feel a heavy weight pressing down on him. You were disappearing from him as his stomach was in uncomfortable knots, until the sting of his pact with him was completely gone.
Asmodeus was next as he let out a loud whimper as he quickly fumbled with his uniform, as the clothing was shed, he managed to see what was left of his pact with you disappearing. âO-O-Our pacts! MCâs...! Theyâre...!â He could only think of the worst as he started to violently sob as the last of your presence was ripped from him.
As Satan was trying to tie together everything that was going on, it was his turn to feel the pain. The same thing was happening to him as his chest tightened and it became harder to breathe. âMC...Somethingâs happened, our pacts-â Satan hisses loudly as he attempted to tear at his neck of the invisible hands that squeezed the life out of him.Â
One by one, the brothers had dropped down by an invisible force. The endless laments of the brothers repeating how they couldnât feel an ounce of your invisible bond and how they claimed they couldnât breathe. The feeling of helplessness was palpable in the last two who were standing.
It was just the eldest and the youngest brother who were the last two standing. Belphegor felt himself fall with his brothers, and he was feeling his chest tightening and he felt invisible hands suddenly choking his airways. As if the pact was ripped off his skin, an echo of his sickening laughter rang in his ears.
âNo...no!!!â Belphegor lets out a mournful wail, âMC!! Iâm sor-â He gasps for air as he drops down, what seemed like the weight of your pain and suffering was finally caving in on him. Belphegor felt the tears starting to well, he was the one being your suffering once more, if only he found out sooner.
Lucifer could only look in horror as he knew he was next, âOur pacts...MCâs either-â He drops down to his knees as the same knot formed in his chest and his breathing labored. He dared not look to Diavolo as he joined his brother in their loss. As his pact disappeared from his very being, it was like losing Lilith all over again. Though this time, he couldnât get you back.
âMCâs pacts, either theyâre being broken. Or either-â Barbatos faltered on the worst thing to happen to you, once again. Diavoloâs lip quivered as he knew, âWe must find Solomon at once.â
Solomon ignores the influx of texts from Asmodeus on his phone, as he does the same with the missed calls and texts from your phone. He scrolls past Asmodeusâ calls and texts to find Barbatos and Diavolo had contacted him as well.
In the meantime, you had been resting as the brothers had suffered. You stir yourself awake, the ritual was more tiring than you thought. You check your body of the pacts that had used to etch your skin, but true to Solomonâs word, they were gone. The invisible thread that tied you to the brothers could no longer be felt and you let out a sigh.Â
It was time to go home.
âMC. You should rest.â Solomon advises you as you struggle to get off the couch. But true to your stubborn nature, you shakily stand up as you shake your head. âNo. Iâm going home.â You simply state as Simeon and Luke come up to help balance you and Solomon puts a hand on your shoulder. âIâve had enough of being here.â
âIf youâre that determined, let me come with you for protection. Youâre just a normal, defenseless human now.â Solomon decided on as the two angels might as well made up their mind as well. âWeâre going with you MC!â Luke proclaims as you shake your head.Â
With all the strength you mustered, you bent down to his level and put a hand on his head. âNo Luke. This is between me and the brothers. Iâd rather not get you and Simeon wrapped up in my troubles.â
âB-B-But...â Lukeâs eyes were now downcast as you ruffle his head, âYou probably wonât understand it now Luke, but youâll understand someday.â You told him as you give Simeon a knowing nod. âWeâll still have time to say goodbye Luke,â You assure him with a half smile, âI just have to settle things with those demons first.â
âMC!â Luke shouts your name suddenly, and you look back to your little brother. His lips wobble as he sniffles, he was always trying so hard not be looked at as a child once more. âCan I at least give you my blessing before you go?â
You smile, âOf course, Luke. Youâre my guardian angel after all.â As Luke chants his prayer for you, you feel an invisible yet warm light engulfing you. âNow not even Diavolo can hurt you! Or those awful brothers!â Luke exclaims rather triumphantly, though he frowns even at the thought of the butler thinking about hurting you.
You hug Luke as you decide to best get on your way. âThank you Luke.â You look to Simeon who gave you a nod as he comes to collect the younger angel, âWeâll see each other again before we leave here for good. I promise.â
And with that, you and Solomon set off to see the demons off, one last time.
The sudden creak of the student council roomâs door alerted the demons as Solomon saunters his way in. Seeing the weakened Avatars brought a smile to his face, of course, they were expecting you for answers.Â
âSolomon. I trust you know what has happened to the Avatars here.â Diavolo implicates the sorcerer as the latter looks over the brothers and hums. âHm. Now why would I be the first one to know whatâs happened to the brothers?â He glances over at Barbatos who side eyed his master.
âMCâs pacts with the brothers have been severed, MC had gone to Purgatory Hall today, have they not?â The butler questions Solomon as the latter looks thoughtful as he chooses not to answer, only his eyes danced in amusement as he watched the gears turn in the demonsâ head.
âWhere is MC? What have you done to them?â Lucifer snarls at Solomon as he struggles to stand up, the rest of the brothers following suit. Solomon lets out his hearty chuckles as he motions towards the door. âWhat have I done to them? The real question, oh mighty Lucifer, is what have you all done to them?â
âYou impudent human!â Lucifer roars as he shifts into his demon form, and with his brothers following suit. Even in their weakened state, he had to applaud them for their tenacity.
âThatâs enough Lucifer.â
You emerge from the dark halls and stand between Solomon and the demons you had once considered your friends. Your once vibrant self to the brothers was now replaced by a dark cloud that hung over you. A part of you felt as if you were the scared and defenseless little human at the beginning of the program, now that you removed the pacts. A part of you was just done with being here, playing family therapist without any compensation for the amount of pain you had been put through.
You narrow your eyes at the brothers, who had halted like a pack of dogs on their masterâs command, and shifted back into their regular forms. They looked so hurt, so lost, so confused. A perpetual frown graced your features as you scoff at the scene before you. You almost felt bad for them. But it wasnât as sad as you had been hurting the entire time, and yet none of these greater beings were smart enough to figure that out.
âMC!â Your first man was the first to call out for you, it was a mournful cry as a barrier stops him from coming any closer to you and sends him backward. Mammonâs face twists in utter disbelief as you remain silent, yet observant of the demons before you who shared the same looks.
âWhat tha hell?! MC...â Mammon never looked so hurt, at least from the vulnerable Mammon you saw that opened up to you behind closed doors. âMC...Whatâs goin on?â Mammon begs of you as you remained unfettered to the anguish of the brothers.
âListen well brothers, and your little king and his butler as too. These will be the last words youâll ever hear from me.â You began as an explosion of protests, screams, and begs before Lucifer steps forward. âEnough!â He bellows at his brothers and silence comes over the room.Â
âMC...Please. We just want answers. Why have you removed our pacts?â Lucifer asks of you, his voice soft, as if it were just the two of you alone in his room during those late night visits. Those nights where his pride was put aside just for him to love you behind closed doors. But it was soon to be a memory now.
You look to Solomon who simply nodded, âLike I said, these are my last words to you. So you better listen well.â You glowered and you take a breath, it was time to get things off your chest.
âI was the one who asked, no. Begged, Solomon to remove the pacts. I suppose after fixing your problems and putting my own feelings and well being aside, I decided to do something for myself.â You scan over where your pact marks used to be and scoff.Â
âI suppose I was naive enough to think pact between a human and a demon would need some sort of consent, trust, and maybe love.â You gag at the last word, before you continue. âBut I was used as a way to get back at two dumbasses of brothersâ to end age old feud.â You fumed as you point at Mammon and Leviathan, who immediately shrink away as soon as the old memory was brought back to them.
âAnd then...? I stupidly believed that I was going to help brothers reconcile with each other, fix a broken family. All I had to do was make pacts with them, easy right? Even though at one point or another, my life was put on the line for each pact.â You state as it was Belphegorâs turn to shrink against his twin, daring not to look at you. Your eyes linger over the brothers who had exchanged glances towards each other before all of them looked at Belphie at once.
âOnly for me to meet death himself! But it was an easy fix! Just replace me with another me and erase that timeline! Surely I wouldnât remember being killed by your dear baby brother. Problem solved! The brothers are back together again! Surely this wouldnât have any repercussion on the human!?â You let out a sardonic laugh and you grin at the brothersâ expression twist and turn with a sickening realization of what you had kept under wraps the entire time.
You wiggle your finger mocking at them as your smile bore into the brothers and the royals, âBut letâs give a hand to our dear monarch and his dear handler!â You rail on derisively and applaud the two demons behind the brothers, only looking horrified of the aftermath of their actions. âThey both got a taste of playing God! I was a just a pawn in their scheme to get this damned family back together again!â
âOh...And to put the cherry on top? Your dear prince and his loyal butler revealed my ancestry...to your dead sister!â You felt your blood boil, even Satan could feel it, even without the pact. âWhich is probably all the worth Iâll ever have to you demons! Without it, Iâm just a worthless human who wouldnât mean jack to any of you! But what if I was the descendant of her lover? You would all kill me on the spot, even if I âfixedâ your family, wouldnât you all?â You accuse them all as the horror on their faces brought you such glee.
âAnd none of you never apologized to me, for all those times youâve put my life in danger.â You mutter bitterly as you glare at the Royals, âAnd you two never apologized for putting me through watching myself die. And why would you? You played me like a fiddle, so long as it got you your results. Well congratulations, you got them. And for one life of a human? Damn, you got yourselves a good deal!â
You laugh in broken pauses and you run a hand through your hair, the brothers were the most silent as they had ever been. The normally loud bunch stunned into silence as their favorite human poured their heart out, any love they had towards them seemed to have diminished. Your eyes had welled up as you gaze at them through glassy lens.
âMC! Please!â Belphegor leaves his twinâs side as he drops in front of you, on his hands and knees, âIâm sorry MC! Punish me, instead of taking it out on my brothers! It was my fault, it was all my fault! â he begs as you barely acknowledge his pathetic gesture.
âYou stupid demon. I am punishing you. How does it feel to lose the last thread to your dead and dearest sister? You apologized to Lilith instead of apologizing to me. Is that was your pact was?! An apology to Lilith for killing her dear descendant?!â You snarl the words as Belphegor recoils from the statement, and couldnât find his words now.
You then look at the eldest brother, and you point your finger at him, âAnd youâre guilty of this too, donât you dare say otherwise. Youâve tried to kill me three times, plus a baby angel and your own brother! Lilith would so proud of her big brother. This pact is no different from my murdererâs. These were more like half assed apologies, considering you all went straight to Belphegorâs side. Not once had any of you considered my feelings after my death.â You growled at him as Lucifer faltered in his steps forward towards you as he met your glare.
âAnd what, you both think a pact would absolve all the pain and suffering you demons put me through? You brothers really are stupid when youâre together, you know that?â You let out a dry cackle, âThose pacts meant nothing, they were nothing more than lies.â You were washed clean of the pacts, the memories your time would soon follow as you felt Solomonâs hand on your shoulder.
As he tried to figure out his words he swallows hard, and Lucifer gets onto his knees, âMC. Please, allow me to apologize to you now. For every moment Iâve threatened you, every moment that Iâve brought harm to you. On behalf of my family, I beg of you to forgive us, for all the pain weâve put you through. We will beg for forgiveness even if you refuse to do so.â If Lucifer was on his knees, groveling for forgiveness then the rest of the lot were as well.
You scoff at the Seven Deadly Avatars of Sin as eyes begged for what good was left in you, the human that they all loved apparently to forgive you then and there. You turned your back on them.
âLuke was right all along. I should have never trusted you demons.â
âMC? It is time to go.â Solomon informs you as a portal opens behind him. You dared not to give the brothers any satisfaction or any sympathy, it was only fair that they never did the same for you.
âIf you really want to honor your dead sisterâs wish, then you all will stay out my life, and you will stay the hell away from my descendants.â And without another word, you crossed through with Solomon.
And with that the portal closed and silence had settled indefinitely. But nothing would close the gaping hole that a mere human had left in the hearts of the most powerful demons of the three realms.
Okie dokie. I've been putting off making this post, but I think it's time I do make it.
About a year (ish) ago, I wrote a little crack fic called Guard Rat. I didn't think much of it. It was cute, yeah, a little funny, but far from my best work (at least in my opinion).
You guys evidently thought otherwise đ
So for the past year, my notifications have been FILLED with people demanding a part two to Guard Rat. Now, I made a post shortly after the fic was first published saying it wasn't getting a sequel. That it's a stand alone. That it was a one and done kind of situation. But the notifications and the sometimes rude demands persist.
So I shall say again: As grateful as I am for all the love and support you all give Ramen/Bruno and Guard Rat, and as much as I love to see you guys excited over my work, there will NOT be a part two.
I have so many other exciting projects like Sister's Keeper, For Forever With You, the Deaf MC AU, and even more individual requests in my inbox that I've yet to get to that I cannot give energy to begin a new series that I never intended on continuing.
I love the comments and excitement! Just please don't yell or demand fics from me đ I'm a person. A very busy, easily distracted person. And as much as I wish I could, I don't have the time or energy to constantly pump out every single fic asked for.
That being said I have an extensive Masterlist that I highly reccomend you check out if you enjoy my writing! It has over 70 fics and you're bound to find something of interest there! It means a lot to me.
Thank you all again for the love you give Guard Rat. I assure you, Bruno would love you all just as much as you love him.
Chronicles of a Fallen Warrior -Gone to the Dogs- -MCâs Visit-
A/N : Wanted to write something short, @rays-doodles27ââs question if MC was here, so I wanted to give MCâs side of things if they were here.
CW: mild cursing and general angst
First part
The Devildom.
You hadnât been there since you left the exchange program, you did keep in contact with the boys though things had gone radio silent as of late.
They had kept in contact with you and talked to you daily. Though they knew they couldnât bombard you with texts and calls once you had to get back to your life in the human world.
You missed them all, especially Mammon. You were worried since he always came calling to you whenever his brothers gave him hell. You were always there to comfort him and to defend him from his brothers. It was odd to you that he had gone silent on you too.
Itâd be foolish to think that everyone was getting along while you were gone.
As Solomon had escorted you to the House of Lamentation, you felt a chill run down your spine. Something had to be off as the house was still and dark, any sign of life wasnât seen from the outside. You let Solomon know when you needed him to escort you, and open the gate, the old creaking must have alerted the inhabitants living the house as you can see the lights come on.
As you stood at the door, you could hear a stampede of footsteps behind the door before the door opened up, your demons almost falling over themselves.
âMam- MC?âÂ
âHi,â You looked at the group of Avatars, they had looked quite disheveled and even Asmodeus looked like all self care had gone out the window ages ago. âWere you guys expecting Mammon?â You inquire as the fact that they had called you Mammon was telling.Â
You knew Mammon was going to snap eventually, you just didnât expect it so soon.
âDarling~~!!â Asmo throws himself on you as you stumble back, âOh, weâve missed you...And we need your help.â You could tell he wasnât himself as well as the other brothers, as they were in the same shape.
Oh, were you supposed to fix this family again?
âMammonâs no longer living with you?â You asked as you sat in the living room, though youâre not surprised. You knew the brothers werenât the greatest with treating Mammon with any love or respect. Yet you knew Mammon always let them use him as a punching bag out of love for his brothers.
A love you couldnât understand and wondered how Mammon put up with it.
As you sat in the living room, the brothers were looking at you with hope that you could fix them again as you had done before. You shake your head, âSo what happened now?â You ask as you knew the brothers were the cause, once again.
The brothers proceed to tell you about the dog incident, and the entire time, you couldnât help but feel angry with them. You groan as you rub your temple, surely the strongest beings of hell had no idea that their actions and their words had an impact on Mammon?Â
Mammon of course, for the greater good of his family, let himself be used and abused. That never sat right with you, of course, human morals were vastly different from demonsâ morals.
By the end of it, you couldnât help but understand why Mammon had finally had enough of his brothers. Even you could feel yourself feeling the same, Satan of course could feel the waves of wrath emanating off of your shoulders.
âSo none of you questioned why Mammon was acting strangely? No one asked about the only book that was just laying on the ground? No one questioned the dog that was just watching all of this going on? The fact that Mammon wasnât talking at all the entire time didnât hit you like a brick that something was wrong?âÂ
Your fists were clenched into tight balls as your nails dug into your palms, âI canât believe you would treat a strangerâs dog better over your own brother!â You scream at them as they all visibly flinch at their masterâs outburst and rightful outrage. âOf course, I can see why you would. All you ever do is point out his flaws, you never say anything good about your âdearâ brother.â
âDear god. No wonder Mammon felt like shit seeing you all treat him as if you all actually loved and cared about him. Quit lying to yourself that you all would actually want him back.â
âMC, perhaps you can help us bring Mammon back home? Heâll listen to you.â Satan suggests, feeling slightly meek as your rage was still felt as the brothers all murmur in agreement. Why in the Devildom did they ask you to fix them the moment you came back to visit them?
âNo wonder he left this family. Iâm disappointed- Disappointed would be too generous.â You mutter as you get up to leave, only for Lucifer to grab your hand.Â
âMC. Please. Weâve made a grave mistake. We had taken Mammon for granted, we will try to do better.â he admits as he dared not look at you, his pride wouldnât allow it as you groan and flicked your hand out of his hold.
âI canât be the only person fixing this family, I did it once, and it looked like things were looking up. But as soon as I leave, it goes to shit. As if I was never here, why are you all surprised that Mammon left?â
You could only shake your head in disappointment and you head out the door, but gave the brothers one last look. âChange starts with you, and I doubt youâd all change for Mammon.â
With Solomon escorting you to the casino districts, you felt the heat of a thousand lights and blares of the various jingles and sounds of the district. The casinos looked like it had become more alive than your last visit as you could have sworn the little casinos werenât here before.
Something of course must have changed since you last visited the casinos with Mammon. Of course, the days of Mammon inviting you out as his lucky charm were long over. You had missed those days, you and Mammon had good times, even if Mammon lost some nights. Mammon always showed his gratitude, in his own way of course whenever you did accompany him.
When he won big, heâd shower you with whatever you desired, and when he didnât, he appreciated your comfort and your unconditional love. Even when you were both out late and in for a lecture from Lucifer, you were always quick to defend him.Â
As you and Solomon stepped into the biggest casino building, it was like blood in the water to sharks as the demons all stared at you. A pretty little soul ripe for consumption before a tanned demon in a maroon suit stepped forwards towards you and Solomon, the sorcerer quick to guard you.Â
âAh, you must be the little human Mammon brought here many times before.â he greets as he watches you light up and step forward from the sorcerer at the mention of the Avatarâs name.
âSo Mammonâs here?â You ask as Archemond chuckles and you give Solomonâs hand a squeeze to ease his worry. âMay I see him?â you ask the other demon as he muses at your excitement and Solomonâs wariness.Â
âWell, that depends on your handler, doesnât it?â he asks as you give Solomon a pleading look, Mammon was the reason you had come back into the Devildom after all. You give a small, but assuring smile. âIâll be fine Solo. I know what spell to use if he turns on me.âÂ
The sorcerer relents as he lets you go. âNo harm will come to MC?â Solomon dares the demon as the latter holds up his hands in a mock surrender, âPlease, if that were to happen Mammon wouldnât let me leave the premises alive. Heâd throw me to my own dog once heâs done with me.âÂ
Archemond turns as he motions you both to follow him and you and Solomon followed him in the elevator. As elevator kept going up from the ground up, you could only imagine the scenery get smaller as you could see the whole Devildom nightlife from how high up Mammon was living now.
As soon as the bell chimed, Archemond steps out first as you follow him out, at a reasonable distance of course. There was a knock to a door as you could only sit back and watch everything unfold.
âWhaddaya want?! Iâm busy âere!â Yup, that definitely sounded like Mammon, with an extra bite at the end. You did remember some days where they were mostly associated with Mammon having his bad days where heâd rant and rave about his bad luck or his brothers giving him a hard time.Â
âThe human has come to see you.â the underling responds as there was silence on the other side before the jingle of grimm could be heard along with the sound of a chair screeching.
âWhat human?â Mammon snapped from behind the door, but since you couldnât wait, you moved from your spot and went to blurt it out just to see Mammon.
âMammon! Itâs me!â You called out. And as soon as your voice was heard, the door had flung open with such force, it might had crushed Archemond between the wall and the door.
âMC?!â Mammon appears before you, as if heâs seen a ghost but turns into relief now that you had come. But he approaches you as you flash a smile, one just for him. âMC.â he speaks your name so fondly and so softly as he takes in your presence as you were here with him now.
Your moment with Mammon was interrupted by the groan of Mammonâs underling groaned as he tossed the door aside, and Mammon snarls at his right hand man, âWhaddya still doin here? Get yer ass outta here and back on the floor!â he commanded as his beleaguered demon huffed and made his way out.
As soon as you two were left alone, you immediately hugged your first man. You were taking Mammon in and you still remembered the scent of Devilish No.5 as it clung onto his very being. Despite how warm he felt, you could there was a coat of coldness that hung on his shoulders. He was different from the last time you had seen him since departing from the Devildom. His goofy self was there, you figured, yet it seemed buried deep inside of him.
Not to be seen by anyone again.Â
âI missed you Mammon.â You finally breathe as you melt into his embrace. It was as if you never left him, he always did give you the best hugs. It was a familiar gesture you both shared with each other. His arms wrapped around you as you look up to see that winning smirk of his.
âOf course yer did, who wouldnât want to miss the Great Mammon? Ya oughta be grateful!â He replies as haughty as he had always presented himself. Yet with you, he was more than willing to drop that facade. It was only you who know who he truly was. As he gazed upon the unconditional love that graced your face and eyes, he sighs in content.
â...I missed ya too Treasure.â Mammon whispers in your ear as he stroked the back of your head as he held you. âItâs been lonely since ya left.â he confesses as you would have been what he needed since that day of the dog switcheroo and the fallout with his brothers.
He had everything he wanted, his penthouse was fit for a top boss like himself. The glitz and glamour of the rich and famous adorned his shelves, countless material wealth stood as trophies of his wealth as they decorated each space of his suite. But they were not as rich as the love and comfort you had given him.Â
His new digs lacked the familiarity of your things that heâd secretly keep. A shirt or two, or those little notes and gifts you left for him when he wasnât looking. He makes a note to himself to get some of his belongings from the House back to his penthouse.
Speaking of the House of Lamentation. He gently releases you from his hold and studies your face as you look up at him with questioning bambi eyes. He groans lowly and he half heartedly releases you from his hold.
âYa ainât here cause of them, are ya? If yer are, I ainât going back!â Mammon asked fervently, not that the surprise visit from you was something he was wanting from you. He just had a hunch that his brothers sent you in their place to get him back.Â
You sigh as you shake your head, âOf course not. I had to see them first before coming to you.â You rub your temple as you couldnât help but frown, âTo say I was disappointed in them was an understatement. They should have seen this coming for a long time. And they deserve it.âÂ
You look at Mammon as he wonders over your words and you go up to cup his face in your hands and let your foreheads touch. The sudden flush of red on his cheeks appeared and you couldnât help but smile.
âIâm proud of you Mammon. You finally stood up to them, and now youâre free. No more insults, no more accusations, and no more punishments.â
Mammonâs red cheeks were warm against your hands, and he let the words sink in. No more abuse from his family, whom were supposed to love him as much as he did them. But alas, they had always taken advantage of his devotion to his family.
âYeah...It is. It really is MC.â he gives you a sad smile and before you can say more, a loud yip had interrupted you.
âI think I have what youâre looking for Mammon, but why the need?â Archemond questions as he guides Mammon to the antechamber of his penthouse suite.
âJus something, I just wanna teach my brothers a lesson.â Mammon mutters as the other demon chuckles, âThat so? You done rolling over for your brothers?â Archemond snickered and stopped at one pupping pen.
Before Mammon was one of the many hounds that his underling bred and he observes as the hound growls lowly at him. Archemond holds up a white pup by the scruff, and as he whined, blue eyes upon blue eyes gazed at each other.
âHeâll do.â
âTheyâve gone completely gaga over the little pup for the last couple of weeks, itâs amazing.â Archemond reports as Mammon muses over his latest profit reports and he huffs.Â
âSo you were right,â Mammon grumbles and lays his head in the papers as the latter chuckles, âOf course, everyone loves a puppy. Until they grow up, then they lose their charm. You know all about that donât you?â
âSo...This is him?â You ask as you peer down at the hellhound pup that wiggled excitedly in between you and Mammon and you had squatted down to pet him. To think, something so cute and innocent was enough to tear the brothers apart.
The little hellhound that Mammon had used against his brothers just to prove a point, was scampering around the both of you until you pick him up. âI have to admit, he is cute.â You comment before you notice the pout on Mammonâs face and you laugh. âHeâs nowhere as cute as you though Mammon.â You assure him as you give him a peck on the cheek.
âYa donât hafta tell me that, I know Iâm cuter!â Mammon complains as the pup decides to snooze in your arms. You chuckle quietly as you look down at the pup and gently placed him in a little dog bed near Mammonâs desk. There were some toys, a food and water bowl, and some pads for him. You tilt your head before returning to Mammon, giving him a hug.
âAre you keeping him?â You ask as Mammon sighs, âYa know I like cats better than dogs. But I guess I can make an exception.â He sighs as he pats the pup. âA brutal reminder for my brothers if they see us. Punishment for them this time huh?â His eyes were forlorn at the thought, but you both knew they had deserved it. His arms stayed close around you as he sighs, melting into your warm embrace and you both knew that youâd be like this for a while.Â
Itâs been 1 year since I wrote my first full length fic here on tumblr! And one I wrote on a whim too, where I wasnât sure where the plot would go. Also because I didnât think Iâd be writing more than just this series, Iâm looking forward to writing more things once the semester is done! Cheers! :D
Itâs finally here! I realize the last time this was updated was back in June. So this might not be written as well as Iâd like. But Iâve finished up the Replaced!AU so I can get onto this again! By now youâre probably wondering if I have a well thought out plot. Maybe? This chapter is a bit shorter, sorry!Â
âPlease Belphie, can we go? Please? I want to see the human world again!â Lilith excitedly pleads with the twins as they both share a look of uncertainty.
These trips to the human world had been exhilarating but they knew they would be caught eventually. Here stood the three little angels as Lilith nearly peers down the edge of the clouds where the human realm sat.
âErm...We shouldnât Lil.â Beelzebub mumbles as he cautiously looks over his shoulder as his twin scoffs lowly, âItâs alright Beel, no oneâs going to find us here.â The Seventh Born confidently holds Lilithâs hand, âLetâs go!âÂ
âAnâ whaddaya think yer all goin?â
The trio stiffen slightly before Belphie groans at the second born who makes his presence known. Beelzebub lets out a sigh of relief and Lilith immediately goes to her brother with puppy dog eyes.
âItâs just Mammon.â Belphie mutters as Mammonâs face scrunches up in annoyance at his baby brotherâs bratty attitude. âJus Mammon? Itâs The âGreat Mammonâ ta you!â Mammon retorts as Belphie groans. âAt this point we wonât be able to go to the human world with Mammon here blubbering about.âÂ
Lilith giggled as she watched her brothers bicker before quickly going to Mammonâs side and gave him a hug, âPlease big brother? Can we please visit the human world? Please?â she begged as she gave him her best puppy dog eyes and a wobbling lip for emphasis.
Mammon groans as another lecture from Lucifer and Michael would be coming if heâd let the triplets go out to the human world on their own again. But with the sets of pleading eyes staring back up at him, Mammon relents and quickly looks behind him before waving them off.
âAlright! Fine! Go ahead and get in trouble! See if I care!â Mammon grumbled as Lilith gave her brother a squeeze. âYouâre the best big brother!â she beamed as she gazed up at him as she let go of him before joining the twins.
The tripletsâ laughter rang in Mammonâs ears as he watched them descend into the human world. âBest big brother huh? Of course, Iâm the great Mammon!â Mammon boasts before leaving.Â
As the trios descend, the last thing the triplets would hear was his angelic laughter.Â
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
âBeelzebub!â The eldestâs pointed voice breaks Beel from his memories of old. Beelzebub shakes his head as he looked down at the instant noodle pack for Mammon, if he ever did come back.
âI heard his laughter. His real one. From the Celestial Realm years ago. But it wasnât him.â Beel explains as he shifts his weight. Mammonâs real laughter, it was a distant memory now. His fake laughter must have been the only laugh track Mammon had on repeat. A broken record fitting a broken demon. âI know his laugh from the olden days.â
Satan rubs his chin as he looks to the eldest, âIt sounds like an advanced masking spell, perhaps some witches or wizards helped him out. Perhaps he must have come across them in the human world?â Asmo fiddles with his scarf as he sighs, âBut would Mammon be that desperate to get help from the witches he hates so much?â
âHe must have been desperate...If he doesnât want anything to do with us now.â Leviathan mumbles as he slumps in his seat. Belphegor however, looked hopeful. âEither way, it means Mammonâs still here in the Devildom, right?â
âIt is an advanced spell,â Lucifer confirms as he shakes his head, âWhoever used it on Mammon must have a superior amount of magic in their possession. And theyâre obviously using Mammon for their own gain.â Lucifer pulls up his D.D.D. as he scrolled down to MCâs number.
Or it could have been an illusion to fool the brothers should they be looking for him. If they would have, but why would have they bothered to check on him? They should have been looking out for him, dare Lucifer say he should have checked up on him after he had punished him. But heâd understand that heâd leave his own family for the one person who cared about him unconditionally.
If anything heâd run back to you. You were the one who always defended him, even if he was in the wrong and you had always done so while calling out himself and the rest of the brothers. You had shown him more love and kindness than his own family, of course, why would he come back to them?
Lucifer proceeds to press the Doom call on the D.D.D., the dial tone was the only noise that filled the room as the brothers awaited your answer. They could only hope Mammon was safe with you, and as futile as the thought was, you could convince him to come back to them.
At this rate, theyâd do anything to make it up to their lost brother.
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
You had just come home after an interview, and you had felt great about it. All you had to do was to wait for a call back. You slip off your shoes and shrug your coat off while tossing all your things to the side as you plop down on your bed.
It had been a good few months of you adjusting back into your old life. It was almost strange being back in the human world, it was strange having a mundane life again after all the fantastical adventures in the Devildom. But your ordeal with living with demons while trying to stay alive, which failed at one point was truly stressful when you looked back on it.
So much so that the brothers and the royals understood why you wanted the normality in the human world than spending another year with them. And they let you back into the life you had before.Â
Photos of the demon brothers, the Royals, and the Purgatory Trio sat on your nightstand. As much as you missed them, you still had a life in the human world that you had been plucked right out from. And you were more than eager to move on from your time in the Devildom.
But the Devildom had not moved on from you.
You hear a sudden dial tone on your D.D.D., you kept it to keep in contact with your boys but you mostly wanted the normality of the human world back in your life. You stare down at the Doom app calling you, seeing Luciferâs name on the screen.
Your eyes narrowed at his name and you couldnât help but feel a rising anger bubble in you. You knew why they were calling you out of the blue, and you couldnât decide if you wanted to ignore them and let them suffer further, or youâd answer and ease their minds.Â
You had chosen the latter.
âMC!â The brothers called out in unison as you stared back at the brothers on the screen with a blank expression, âBrothers.â you respond as you didnât hide your exasperated response. The brothers easily chalked it up to being back in the human world and the mundane hardships you had to deal with after having your life derailed for one year.
âMC,â Lucifer starts as he clears his throat of any distress that still in him, âI should apologize for the lack of communicating with you over these past few months. I trust youâve been well?â he inquires as you nod silently.
Satanâs voice comes in next, and unlike Lucifer, worry lines his words. âThatâs odd, if heâs not there in the human world and heâs not in any of the layers of the Devildom, where could he have gone?â
You could only roll your eyes at them, none the wiser on where Mammon actually was. You could feel relief knowing that Mammon was safe with Diavolo and that he had followed through on your last will.Â
Which only left one last thing to do with the brothers.
â...Mammonâs gone?â You ask as you see the brothers on the screen nod solemnly. They were not quick to pick up how you grit your teeth as your D.D.D. shook and how quick your mood had shifted.Â
âWe were wondering if heâs there with-â
âYou will all be silent!â You shouted suddenly as your pacts with the six brothers activated and as if a thread and needle sewed their lips shut, none of them could respond to you. Eyes widen as they stared back in you in panic as you glared at them, like a dogs trembling at their master being outraged at what theyâve done.
âMammonâs gone? Good. Maybe itâs how it should have been from the very beginning.â You started and shook your head, âI canât believe Mammon calls you, this pathetic and unforgivable bunch of idiots.â The same names youâd call them affectionately was now laced with utter disgust. âI canât believe he calls you his family.â You didnât hide the venom in your voice as Satan could feel your wrath rolling off your shoulders through the phone.
âIâd fucking leave too if my family treated me like shit. I canât believe it took him this long.â You stare at the shocked eyes of your demons as you take a breath.
âItâs because of him that you all get to live the life of luxury, and you act like ungrateful spoiled brats. Need I remind you that Mammon the second strongest brother? A reminder than heâs stronger than five of you, and heâd beat the shit out of you for every slight you. And if he wanted to Lucifer, heâd fight his main abuser with all the might he possesses. Brothers or not.â
âI canât believe Mammon loves all of you.â You gag at that statement before berating them once more. âOnly to be treated like shit because of his sin, and his âstupidityâ that you all despise so much. How does it feel now that youâve got your peace and quiet? Is it satisfying not to have someone lesser than you keeping things interesting in the house?â
âYouâre all a bunch of fucking hypocrites. Iâm glad Mammonâs decided to leave this fucked up family. Itâs fucking clear as day you all donât deserve Mammon.â
And with that, you hang up on the brothers as they were left in silence, and your your words echoed in their ears. Even you didnât feel Mammon was meant to be in their family? ..But you were not wrong. They had treated Mammon horribly and it wasnât hard to believe that Mammon had finally had enough. You had enough of them as well.
â...Lucifer?â Leviathan meekly speaks up after a while and the eldest sighs lowly and responds, âWhat is it Levi?â For once the elder brother sounds almost defeated if their dear human had lashed out against them from how they had treated their brother.
âDo you think wants to come back if we find him?â he questions, his voice small as he and the brothers could have felt much smaller now that their human had turned their backs to them.
Lucifer has no answer, it all comes back to him. Of course Mammon wouldnât come back, he was the very source of Mammonâs pain. He couldnât remember the last words he had spoke to him. He knew the last thing he did to him though, which made his heart ache terribly.
âBut heâs our family...He has to come back..â Beel mumbles as his hunger had disappeared and Belphie sighs as he leans against his twin, âYeah...But we havenât been acting like his family, not to MC anyways.â
âWe will find him...And we will let Mammon has his way, anything his heart desires he will have. So long as he comes back home to us.âÂ
Perhaps now theyâd ask Lord Diavolo for assistance regarding their missing brother.
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
Over the past few days, it was apparent that his Young Master had been more productive as the butler completed the meticulous and painstaking task of scanning over the documents that Lord Diavolo had completed.
Even the mighty Lucifer couldnât get the future king to get through his work.
And yet here, the Lord of Fools could make the prince work than the uptight Lord of Corruption and his loyal butlerâs insistence. Perhaps if Barbatos knew that was all it took to get Diavolo going, then he would have gotten Mammonâs aid ages ago. With the promise of extra grimm of course.
Perhaps it the fact that Mammon had lived as free as a bird, albeit tied down by the threads of family obligation. Threads that had slowly coming undone by the brothersâ own hands.
The butler turns his heels towards the royal treasury, assuming that the Avatar of Greed would most likely be there no matter what the Prince had warned him. Hopefully the little Ds were enough to deter the determined demon from getting to the vault, if not, the thought of his torture chamber was always available.
This time though, the Young Master was a step ahead of him.
There was the jingles of grimm dropping to the floor as Barbatos peers in from the open vault door. And the sight before him, of which Diavolo had Mammon pinned against the wall. The latterâs hands pinned above his head, squirming as Diavolo simply listens to Mammon sputtering his excuses.
âO-O-Oi!!! It ainât what I was plannin ta do Lord D!! I was jus passin by the vault and it was open!! I was gonna close it up aftaâ makin sure everythin was in there! Honest!!â Mammon blurted out as Diavolo merely listens, his golden eyes almost dancing in amusement.
âMy lord, shall I punish Mammon for this brazen act? This is the second time weâve caught him, perhaps more than a scolding should prove itself effective?â Barbatos suggests and makes himself known as Mammon looks away from the butler, as far as he knew he was talking the long walk to the famed torture room.
âNow now Barbatos, Mammonâs only acting on his sin after all. How can I possibly blame for something he cannot control?â Diavolo reminds his butler as he glanced over at Mammon, whose eyes were trained to stare down at the floor. âLike a moth to a flame.â
Barbatos shakes his head as he frowns at his master, âAs in his nature, yes. But you cannot keep an eye on him forever. As the expression goes, his greed will come back to bite him. You will have to keep him in line as Lucifer has done tirelessly.âÂ
Mammon visibly stiffens at the mention of Lucifer as Diavolo hums lowly, âWhile this is your second strike Mammon, I suppose I have been lenient with you since you are my guest after all. For your third strike, I will have to punish you. Do I make myself clear?âÂ
Mammon only nods his head furiously as Diavolo loosens his grip on the Avatar who slumps to the floor. Still unwilling to look at them, Diavolo knelt down and lifts his chin up to him, âDo not worry Mammon, my punishments are not as harsh as Luciferâs, nor as humiliating as Asmodeusâ little Deviltube and Devilgram videos. I just want the best for you, do I make myself clear?â
Mammon could feel himself pale, did Diavolo know about those? Did you report them to him? He quickly looks up at the Prince, nods, and takes off running. Not caring if he stepped over what would have been some prized grimm.
âAh, I must have scared him off, I ought to apologize.â Diavolo says as he leaves, Barbatos sighs loudly and rubs his temple, and the Prince looks back at him. âItâs only a matter of time my lord.â
âFor what?âÂ
âFor the consequences of your actions?â
âNonsense. Mammon will make sure that my actions are justified. He just needs a little more time to consider that I am the only one he can trust.â
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
Making a mad dash towards his room, Mammon must have run over some little Ds in the process as he opened the door and slammed it shut behind him. Once under the safety of the covers, Mammon screamed loudly into his pillow.
Oh, he done fucked up, didnât he? Lord Diavolo gave him such a simple task not to get his grubby hands on anything in the castle in return for safety and refuge from his brothers.Â
And as per usual, he fucked up once more.Â
It was impossible to do one job, even you had tried to help him with his greedy tendencies. How could the Prince think this would be so easy to manage? He knew his sin was such a problem that wouldnât be solved easily, your best intentions for him never fully panned out as you had hoped.
As he had curled up under the covers, there was a tapping at the window and Mammon crawls out of the safety of the blankets. To his relief, his crows were at the windows, the only companions besides Diavolo he could turn to.
âHey kiddos.â Mammon opens the window as the crows came bouncing in with small trinkets in their beaks. A small smile crept across his face as they presented their treasure to him before hopping onto him or crowded around him.
A few bottle caps, lotto tickets, a plastic ring, and a cork from a demonus bottle. Mammon groans as he stared at the cork, had Lucifer and the others been celebrating the peaceful nights without him there, when he was just being himself?
Being himself just made the brothers wish they werenât related.
Mammon grunts loudly as he throws the cork out of the window, and his crows watch the material fly out. He falls back onto the bed and groans as brought his arm to his eyes.Â
His brothers didnât miss him. They were better off without him. They were always so disappointed in him no matter what he did. They were never happy when he spoke his mind about everything and anything.Â
Maybe theyâd be better off if Lilith was here instead of him? Mammon shudders at that nightmare as he scurries back under the covers. For now, he was safe here, away from the brothers. Diavolo himself said he wasnât like Lucifer, and not like his brothers either, right?
âIâm safe here, Iâm safe here.â Mammon tells himself as he rocks himself to sleep, as pitiful as a refuge it was, it was nice to forget to be awake to deal with his depressing reality.
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
âMy Lord.â Barbatos calls for the young master from behind the door as the sound of scribbling pauses for a moment. Late night paperwork? And his master was on a streak in finishing his dreaded daily task.
âCome in Barbatos.â he instructs before the scribbling resumes and Barbatos makes his way in, a night snack and tea in hand and the prince looks up at his steward. His face was ever unreadable and Diavolo leans back in his chair, âIs something bothering you Barbatos?â
The butler hums as he pours the tea and taps his chin, âAre you enjoying this?â he asks suddenly as Diavolo calmly places his pen down and gazes up at his butler before he chuckles and leans back in his chair.
âMammon is essentially your pet crow in a gilded cage, is he not?â Barbatos confirms as Diavoloâs chuckles said it all and his golden eyes smoldered at the thought. It was a wonderful thought, courtesy of MC of course.
âWhat of Lucifer and his brothers? Sooner or later they will find out, my Lord. Lucifer may be loyal to you, but his brothers do not feel the same.â his steward continues before Diavolo lets out his signature chuckle.
âIf there was anything MC has taught me while they were here, it is the simple lesson of not knowing what youâve had once itâs gone. It is fitting, isnât it? They need to know what it feels like to lose another one again.â
Barbatos hums lowly once more as he gazes into his masterâs eyes, âI would advise you to be aware of the brothers. They have lost one sibling, they will not hesitate on doing whatever it means necessary to get Mammon back.âÂ
Diavolo rises from his desk and gives the older demon an assuring pat on the shoulder, âDo not worry Barbatos. I know what I am doing.â he says before he leaves his study to see his Little Crow.Â
Barbatos sighs as he resigns himself to the fact that his Master is doing as he pleases, but he cannot ignore the looming worry of the wrath of the Avatars once the truth had to come out. Â
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
As night had fallen, the Little Ds scurried away for their slumber and the ghosts of the castle and paintings made their nightly hauntings. There was no way Mammon would venture out with the ghosts out and about.
The dark halls carry the echoes of the Princeâs boots as he heads down the corridor to Mammonâs room. For the whole day, the second born had steered cleared of him after his little incident at the treasury earlier that day.
Barbatos had even noted that Mammon didnât show up to eat his dinner, yet when he had returned to the dining room, the plate had been snatched.
The poor thing, he didnât mean to scare him and remind him of Lucifer. That was the last thing he wanted his Little Crow to see him as. And of Lucifer? Of course the elder must have been worried sick about the whereabouts of his âfavoriteâ brother.Â
A sudden bump and thud in the dark made the Prince stop as his golden eyes glowed and stared down at the demon before him. A familiar white haired demon had been skulking around the halls, at this hour?
âMammon? What are you doing out this late?â Diavolo questions the Avatar as Mammon backs away and merely stammers in response.
âIt ainât whatcha thinkin! I wasnât snooping around or nothin like that!â Mammon exclaimed rather defensively. And even in the dark, Diavolo could see the sweat and the slightly red tint that graced the second bornâs face before Mammon turns away from the Prince, as if he was being stared down by his brothers again.
Diavolo shakes his head, âI havenât said a word Mammon. I should apologize for reminding you of your life back home.â he says as his gold eyes soften for moment as if Mammon was awaiting punishment for the slightest misdoing. âDo you want to go out for a stroll in the gardens?â he offers as penance.
Mammon was silent for a moment. Maybe this was a bad idea, you probably meant well, but Mammon couldnât stay here even if he agreed to. His sin was too overwhelming, even for the Prince, heâd probably understand why Lucifer had treated him the way he did.
Sooner or later Diavolo would have to throw him back to his brothers. And he knew he wasnât going to be welcomed back with open arms should he end up crawling back to them.
âJusâ leave me alone.â Mammon mutters at the Prince before turning away to sulk in his room, and maybe make his getaway when Diavolo was none the wiser.Â
Diavolo simply gazes upon Mammonâs retreating figure and sighs lowly, âBut havenât they done that enough to you Mammon?â he calls after him, making the Avatar stop in his tracks.Â
Mammon couldnât fight the facts. After you had left, he had found himself more often than not, sleeping alone in his bed or in your room. His brothers acted the same as they had done before you came, more vicious than before.Â
Demons would be demons, and even your kindness couldnât stop them from treating your first man like the scum they saw him as.
âDo you think youâre better off alone?â
âEveryone thinks so. So should you.â
âI know what itâs like being lonely. Surrounded by so many, yet you feel so alone.â Diavolo confesses, as he takes a step forward. Yet he kept a good distance, should the Avatar shrink away from his touch.
âYou donât have to be alone anymore Mammon. I promise. I gave my word to MC that youâd never be alone.â
Mammon turns around as Diavolo slowly holds out his hand for Mammon. In the dark, the other demon looks hopeful as the second born sighs in defeat and takes the Princeâs hand in his.
ââă»àš ⊠à§ă»ââ
âCome Mammon, youâve always hated the feeling of being alone, donât you?â Diavolo beckons the second born to the bed. Mammon shouldnât have felt embarrassed when sharing the bed with Diavolo. The Prince had no shame in holding him and any physical contact with him might as well made Mammon die of embarrassment.
His heart ached terribly. He had missed the nights of you and him, the two of you spending nights in his bed holding onto each other. He felt so safe, he felt so loved and accepted by you and loved the time he spent when it was just you two cuddling and sleeping together.
Now it was but a fond memory.Â
Diavolo wasnât you, but he offered the safety, comfort, and attention that he didnât get from his brothers. His family, they couldnât even provide an ounce of love for him that you had given him unconditionally.
He crawled into bed with the Prince as he settles on his side of the bed, only for the Prince to bring him closer to him. A terrible shade of red touched Mammonâs face, quite visible to Diavoloâs amused golden eyes. âI uh...Sorry. I ainât used to bein treated nice, ya know? MCâs always been the one...The one ta look aftaâ me.â
Silence settled between the two for a couple of minutes before Mammon spoke up. âOi...Diavolo? Do ya think my brothers miss me?â he asks almost quietly as he leaned against the other demon, his chest was quite warm as Mammon couldnât help but cuddle closer to the source of warmth.
Diavolo hums as he gently runs his fingers through Mammonâs hair, âHm. If they did miss you Little Crow, they would have come storming here to ask me for assistance, wouldnât they? But they havenât. Perhaps what MC has told me about how they treated you is true, theyâve always seen what theyâve considered the horrid traits in you. And they probably are overjoyed without you.â
âDo you remember what Lucifer had said to you before? That I was the only demon in all the universe who actually cares about you. The only one.â
Mammon dips his head down as he couldnât help but feel the statement to be true. He honestly canât remember any positive interactions with his brothers without MC being there to dispel their cruelty. And here Diavolo was, giving a life of luxury, why was he thinking about throwing it back in Diavoloâs face and running back to the harsh treatment of his brothers?
âMCâs last will was to have you here with me, do you remember? Where you can feel safe and loved. Clearly they knew that you will be unloved and unappreciated once they left the Devildom. Despite the bonds between them and your brothers, MC still feels you arenât cared for as the treasure you are.â
Diavolo lifts Mammonâs head up, with his thumb gently caressing Mammonâs chin and gently kisses his forehead. His forehead was warm against Diavoloâs lips as he was sure Mammon was blushing quite badly.
âYeah...I guess yer right...If this is where MC wants me ta be, I guess itâs fer the best. Right? Everyone wins.â Mammon questions as he felt his heart felt heavy with acceptance and his eyelids drooped from exhaustion. The last thing Mammon felt was Diavolo gently rocking him to sleep as he hummed a lullaby for him.
Into the night, Diavolo was still very much awake as Mammon was asleep, cuddled close to Diavolo no less. Diavolo couldnât help but let a satisfied smirk creep across his face and stroked Mammonâs hair, âOh Little Crow, this is where you belong. Why do you continue to fight it?â
You had given Diavolo what he always wanted, a companion who wouldnât and couldnât leave him if he tried. And Mammon? He had the love and security of a companion who would not fault him on his sin, and there was no reason to leave Diavolo at this point.
A match made in hell? Perhaps, but there was going to be trouble in paradise soon...
Waaaaaa it's been a while since I read your work and damn is it good
Don't overdo and make sure to get some rest
AH~ Thank you so much for your words! T.T I've honestly been in a funk with my writings, mostly me having ideas and just blanking out when I have time to write it.
But thank you, I'll try not overdo myself when it comes to writing. <3
A/N : So I was going to write the next part of All We Do, ended up writing some Mammon angst based on Episode 8 of Season 1âČs anime. Itâs coming soon, so enjoy this little bit of angst while youâre waiting! Not proofread!
CW : Angst, abandonment, cursing, mentions of torture and bodily harm. Brothers being ooc
âNo! Youâre not the Mammon weâre looking for!â
âOur cute little Mammon...Give him back!â
Mammon sobs heavily into his pillow as the events earlier that day had shaken him to his core. Heâs lucky that none of his brothers could hear him as his body trembles and Mammon sniffled loudly against the damp fabric.
His brothers valued his very being more as a dog than their actual brother.
It shouldnât have surprised him, even Lucifer showed more pride in Cerberus than he had ever in his second in command. And he was there in the beginning before that stupid three headed dog!
But he was there. He. Saw. Everything.
They had interacted with him in things he couldnât see them doing at all with him. They treated him with so much more love and adoration that heâd never felt in so long. They were so much happier when he had the mind of a dog and were absolutely repulsed by him once the body switcheroo wore off.
Perhaps they did deserve a cute little Mammon. Someone who wasnât him. Someone who wasnât a constant disappointment to his family, someone who didnât constantly steal and burden them with his financial struggles. A dog would have replaced him and his brothers wouldn't have known any better, as long as it got him off of their backs, right?
Finding the blankets and sheets crumpled around him, Mammon sighs as he fumbled to find his car keys. Once the familiar jingles were heard, Mammon gets out of bed and gets ready.
None of them would care if he was gone for a couple of days, would they? No one ever looked for him or communicated whenever he was out away from home. Other than Lucifer but it was always him barking at him of why he was out in the first place. Hell. Theyâd all celebrate him leaving the house for a few days. They always seemed more happier when he wasnât there.
None of his brothers hear the rumble of Mammonâs car backing up and leaving the House of Lamentation behind.
âWhere is Mammon?â Lucifer questions the younger brothers as his foot tapped on against the floor. Breakfast was not going to start if all the brothers werenât present, and this included the scummy second born.
Beelzebub was left chomping at the bit as he drooled at the food in front of him and his stomach grumbled mockingly at him, âNot even a nibble?â he groaned as a glare from Lucifer quickly shushed him.
âProbably being an idiot somewhere.â Asmo quipped as he picked at his nails, and Satan huffed, âHeâs probably sore about yesterday.â he suggested as he flipped through the page of his book. Belphegor groaned as he lifts his head from his arms, âKinda wished Mammon was still like that to be honest, heâll probably spouting out nonsense when he gets here.â
âLeviathan, go fetch Mammon.â Lucifer directed as the third born frowned as he kept going with his handheld game, âDo I have too?â Levi groaned as Lucifer gave the same glare to Levi, as the third born clutched his game.
Levi mumbled something under his breath as he dragged his feet to Mammonâs room. Since last night, Mammon had retreated to his room and stayed silent since they all berated Mammon for coming back into his body as the dog had made its escape without the brothers noticing. Why couldnât the scummy second born be more bearable like yesterday?
Once he stood in front of Mammonâs room, Levi banged on the door, âHey Idiot, get up and get out so we can eat!â Levi barked as he was met with silence. Levi groaned as he banged the door again, âHEY IDIOT. GET UP!â Levi screeched as the hallway was filled with the echoes of the serpent like screech.
Groaning in frustration, Levi turned on his heel to leave and report back to Lucifer. Not before he heard a squeak, then a whimper.
âMammon?â Levi tentatively uttered as he held the doorknob, finding it unlocked and turned the handle. As the door was let open, a ball of white fluff ran over to the otaku and as quickly as it came, Leviathan let out a piercing shriek as it caught the brothersâ attention.
As quickly as they came, they quickly notice the tail end of the pup scurry back into Mammonâs room.
"Mammon?â Asmo questions as all the brothers stare at the hellhound puppy before them. The brothers stare down a the white pup, who with bright blue eyes stared up back him with a goofy smile on his face.
Lucifer reaches down and picks up the pup, who was now wiggling in his grasp and yipped at him. âMammon?â Perhaps this was a desperate attempt to recreate the moments from the day before? He could feel a presence of his favorite brother there, albeit a strange one.
Satan hums as he rubs his chin. âI can say with the utmost confidence that this is desperate, even for Mammon. Heâs used some part of his brain for this.â he considered as the pup squirmed in Luciferâs grip before Asmo squeals as he grabbed âMammonâ from Lucifer.
âAwh~~~ Heâs a lot cuter like this~â Asmo coos as the pup yips and wiggles his rump as Levi cautiously approaches, âErm, I guess heâs more bearable like this.â he mumbles as the pup merely gave the nervous third born that puppy smile.
Beel and Belphie peered over at âMammonâ who looked at the twins and yipped excitedly at them. âCan he stay like this for a little while Lucifer?â Beel asked, giving the elder his best puppy dog eyes. Belphie nods, âPlease? We can all take a break from Mammonâs idiocy.â
Lucifer was met with five pleading little brothers as he huffed, âFine. I suppose we keep Mammon like this for a bit. A little peace and a quiet wonât kill anyone.â he relents and gives Mammon a stern look. âI expect you to behave yourself.â
âDo I make myself clear Mammon?â he demands as the little hellhound simply barks excitedly at the brothers. As if he was more than excited to be with the brothers.
It must have been a few weeks since the brothers had âMammonâ pup in their care and as expected it was quite blissful for the normally chaotic household.
Lucifer didnât have to worry about the credit card debts that Mammon would have normally had, nor did he steal any of his brothersâ belongings, and there was no complaints of any. Though his little spurts of mischief did not go unnoticed. A missing boot, a gnawed rug or two, and maybe catching him pawing at the musical records. However, with a stern warning, he was quick to quit his greed driven antics.
Leviathan of course enjoyed âMammonâ being in his room, at least now he wouldnât steal all his valuable otaku merch. He didnât have to hear any of his loud and his stupid âget rich easyâ schemes, or his general stupidity. Leviathan actually adored posting puppy Mammon to his blogs and the message boards he had frequented. Like Lucifer, he wasnât immune to the mischief âMammonâ brought along as he found the pup digging into his manga and box sets. He was lucky that he didnât find the pup using his room as his bathroom.
Satan shared the same sentiment with his brothers in not having to hear the idiocy from his older brother. Yet he was careful when he had pup âMammonâ in his room. There was no telling what book he could possibly touch and turn him back to normal or something more troublesome. It was easier for him to deal with him when he couldnât get a hold of his ancient texts or scrolls. Finding the pup asleep in his lap as he read, he smirked to himself. Perhaps heâd turn Mammon into a cat next time? If only Mammon was as tolerable as he was like a pup, he would have enjoyed his company more.
Asmo was just as giddy when he got to spend time with âMammonâ, he was much more cuter and less annoying than how he normally was. He absolutely loved pampering him, giving him little outfits and uploading the photos and videos of his cute âbrotherâ to his Devilgram. He didnât have to worry about his jewelry or his expensive perfumes being stolen, though he did find the pup going through his clothes now and again, in a playful manner of course, so he let it go without much drama than he would with his normal brother.
Beel loved his family, and he loved dogs. âMammonâ as a little puppy might as well made his big olâ heart explode with love. He knew he had to be gentle, even though it was âMammonâ, he loved taking him to the gym with him and would carry him home when he was tired. He especially loved giving food for him, even if he was a puppy, he wanted eat more as he snuck some of his food to him at the table. Beel couldnât help but smile each time at the puppy that excitedly wiggled in his seat whenever mealtime came around.
Belphie found âMammonâ to be annoying in general, but now it was bit more annoying as the elder was possibly playing the role of a pup to get attention. He was supposed to be the baby of the family, wasnât he? But he tolerated the pup enough for him to have naps with him. It was rather peaceful with puppy âMammonâ with no nonsense plots of getting rich quick. Belphegor would even try to get the pup involved with the Anti-Lucifer League plots, knowing that Lucifer, as much as a sadist as he was, would not harm a puppy, even if it was Mammon.
As blissful as it was having âMammonâ around, cracks were starting to show as the lack of financial aid from Mammonâs favoritism for his brothers had been slowly dwindling. And the brothers were now catching onto it.
The brothers stared down at a rather happy âMammonâ who was busy chasing his tail. All the brothers were staring down at their âbrotherâ before Lucifer picked up âMammonâ and narrowed his eyes at him.
âUm...Lucifer, do you think Mammon will turn back to normal soon?â Beelzebub asked the elder as he twiddled his fingers. The last couple of weeks were a nice change, but the gentle giant couldnât help but miss his brother. âHeâs cute...But he canât be a puppy forever.â
Satan sighs, the bookworm had tried to go through all the possible books Mammon might had gone through to transform himself. But he couldnât find one, âIt could be the work of a witch or sorcerer. Or he touched a cursed item?â The normally intelligent brother found himself as a loss, as the pup gave him that same goofy smile. He couldnât help but feel his anger starting to bubble as he made the horrible realization.
âThis is not Mammon.â
The brothers gave each other shocked looks as Lucifer nearly dropped the pup as a small whine escaped his lips as he wiggled wildly to escape the elderâs grasp. Lucifer lets out a huff as he rubbed his temples, how could he had been so blissfully ignorant? âItâs obvious whoeverâs done this used a part Mammonâs essence to mask it.â
Leviathan nervously shifted in his spot as he stuttered, âS-S-So...Whereâs Mammon?â he looked around at the brothers as it dawned on all of them that Mammon was never home the entire them they had the pup in their care. And why their financials were dwindling while the pup had been freeloading off of them.
âWe should look for Mammon.â Beel answered firmly as he was more than ready to find Mammon. Belphie groans as he reluctantly nods, â...Yeah. What if his debt collectors got him?â That thought made the brothers shudder as it was why Mammonâs favor towards his brothers had started to wane.
Asmo sighed lowly as the brothers they were all to blame for why Mammon had left home. âWe should find him...Iâll get my fans to find whereâs he been.â he mumbled, that explained why he never saw Mammonâs face at all the recent DevilStyle photo shoots. Satan nods in agreement, âIâll see if any of my connections know about his whereabouts.â
âAll of us will look for Mammon, weâve wasted enough time. Letâs go.â Lucifer commanded as he stared down at the pup, who had decided that hiding under the sofa would be his safest bet. âAnd I will deal with you later.â
Beel was quick to take the pup before Lucifer could do anything, âLucifer, maybe he belongs to someone. Maybe he was taken from someone to use.â Leviathan quickly nods, âYeah! We find whoever owns this hound, we find Mammon!â
-Give or take a hour later-
âWe got something.â Satan informs as the brothers meet up in the townâs square, all looking rather hopeful that Mammon was found safe and sound. âIt seems there has been an uptick in casino activity lately. But...Thereâs also an uptick in loan shark activity, and reports of demons being tortured more often than not.â
âI suppose itâs normal for greed demons to act on such behavior.â Lucifer comments as he looks towards the casino districts. âPerhaps weâll find Mammon there.â Lucifer lowly sighs, as his eyebrows furrowed. It must have been one of his places where he felt at home, not that his own home felt like one.
The bright lights of the casinos and the never ending blinging and ringing tones of the slots werenât normal for the brothers. It was more of Mammonâs domain as the flashing lights were a bit much and the constant noise of slot machines and roulette halls echo throughout the walls of the building.
Lucifer, at the helm of the group of brothers had his eyes out for any sign of Mammon at the card tables or slot machines. But there was no sign of the white haired brother as the brothers were being watched by the floormen, some removing their sunglasses and raised their eyebrow to get a better look.
âMammonâs not here. Itâs odd.â Satan comments as if the brothers had been walking in circles around the casino looking for the second born. Leviathan stuck close to the eldest as he felt his anxiety flare up, âWhat if heâs not here?â he mumbles before hearing the pup in Beelzebubâs arm yip excitedly at a pair of demons.
Lucifer singles out a demon in a maroon suit among the black suits. As a demon with sunglasses whispers to him, both demons locked eyes as Lucifer makes his way towards him, as the latter does the same as he dismisses his underling.
âAh, Avatars. What a surprise seeing you here. A rare family outing, is it not?â the demon remarks in a playful manner as his lips curled into a smirk. âCan I interest you in the new Russian Roulette tables if youâre feeling lucky? Granted it may take a leg and an arm if you want to win big.â
âEnough with the niceties Archemond.â Lucifer hissed as the pup continued to whine at the tanned demon, and Lucifer putting two and two together. âThis is your doing, isnât it?â
âWell, seeing how you brought Lilâ Chomps back. You all finally used that brain of yourâs. Congrats.â Archemond sneers as Satan lunged and grabs the lower demon by the throat.
âGive me one reason why I shouldnât tear you apart!â Satan growls as Archemond smirks once more, as he could feel patrons and onlookers looking at them and merely chuckles at the brothers.
âTemper, temper Lord Satan. Tear me to shreds and youâll ruin the new renovations that your dear Mammon just finished. And would you like to be the lucky schmuck to hand him the bill on something he worked oh so hard on? Oh...But you lot always relied on your little devil goose to handle all your finances did you not? Treated him like an animal while you ungrateful bastards lived like kings? But even animals have their limit and will bite the hand that feeds them.â
Though Satanâs grip on the demon tightened, Lucifer was quick to respond as he put a firm hand on Satanâs shoulder, âSo Mammon is here.â he affirms as Satanâs grip loosened and released the demon.
The hound in Beelâs hold had wiggled out of his hold as he happily scampered over to his true master, and Archemond picks the pup up by scruff and smirks at the elder and the shocked brothers behind him. âYes. Mammon has been in his element the entire them youâve been living so blissfully with âMammonâ here.â
Beel frowned as he stepped forward, âCan we see him? Please?â The gentle giantâs expression was pained as his brother was still around, yet he made no move to let his family know that he was okay all along.
Archemond scoffs, âDepends if he wants to see you. Heâs a busy man.â he muttered as he turns to leave, and Lucifer calls out to him, âArchemond!â The demon glances over at the group of desperate brothers, on the verge of falling apart with their missing piece.
â...Follow me.â
Taking the long elevator up to the top penthouse suite was nothing but a storm cloud of anxiety hanging over the brothers, just waiting for it rain down on them at any moment. Only did the chime of the elevator remind the brothers on why they were here. Archemond stepped out first as he glanced over his shoulder.
âOut. And wait until the boss wants to see you.â he instructs as the brothers file out and watch as he knocks on the door.
âDo you think Mammon wants to see us?â Beel whispers as his frown never left him and his stomach was in knots. Belphie leans against his twin as he watches the other demon wait for Mammon. âHe has to...Right? He wouldnât leave his family for this long.â Belphie mumbled sadly as all the brothers shared a look of uncertainty as Archemond heads inside and closes the door behind him.
âChief. You have some guests storming in to see you.â Archemond reports to his superior as the desk before him had mountains of grimm stacked had blocked the white haired demon from seeing his underling.
Mammon groans as he loses his place in counting his grimm and moves some towers aside to see him. âGod damnit Mond, Iâm tryin ta count ma profits here!â he growls at the other dark skinned demon as he huffs.
The sight of the pup in Archemondâs arms is enough for Mammon to figure out who was here.
âI am aware Chief, but itâs your dear brothers. And Iâd rather not have our new renovations painted with our mensâ blood and guts.â the demon utters as Mammon slams the grim on the table and the established stacks tumbled over. âTha fuck do they want?!â he growls as the frantic pounding on the door made itself known.
Archemond hums as his boss rises from his desk and smooths out his black and gold velvet suit, âSuppose they want their beloved devil goose who lays the golden eggs?â he mused as Mammon snarls lowly and cracks his knuckle.
His dear brothers? Coming to seek him out after all this time? Mammon couldnât help but feel his blood boil. If it were any other time, they wouldnât have come looking for him. They had so easily replaced him with a mere puppy for the last couple of weeks and here they were, groveling to have him back.
Funny how things worked out.
Archemond proceeds to open the door as Leviathan, Asmodeus, and Beelzebub piled on top of each other, with Lucifer, Satan, and Belphegor followed inside. âMammon!â His little brothers called as they wanted to rush and hug him, but the cold blue eyes that gazed upon them did not hold a shred of relief nor happiness.
âTha fuck do you want?â Mammon repeats himself as Lucifer steps forward, yet the confident Avatar couldnât find the words as his precious brother stared back at them in utter contempt. The second bornâs usual carefree and upbeat aura was replaced with a distant and uncaring one, a set frown graced his face before Lucifer spoke.
âMammon.â Lucifer started as he stared at Mammon, to what he had become as a result of his brothersâ abuse and neglect. âPlease. We made a mistake. We need you back with us. We never wanted to replace you with that dog. You could never be replaced. Youâre our brother.â
Mammon scoffs and gives them a disgusted look, âWhat? The mighty Lucifer apologizinâ? For a scumbag? What happened?â He glances over at the pup in his right handâs arms before mockingly taunting them. âThe cute little Mammon ainât good enough for ya? Ya standards dropped harder than the Akudaq this week.â
Mammon narrowed his eyes at the brothers, âWhy should I go back with you fucks? So you all can beat me for everythin that goes wrong for ya?â He glares at the little brothers who, had never bared the brunt of Luciferâs punishments for their sins, yet they all punished him for his. Unfair was an understatement.
âYa just keep me around cause I gave ya everything you wanted, why? Because yer my family and I loved you and I did everything I could to keep this family together.â Loved? Lucifer falters, âMammon, please-â
âSHUT YER DAMN MOUTH!â Mammon roared at his brothers as Beelzebub held his brothers together, yet the giant could feel himself shaking from Mammonâs sudden rise in hostility. âThat pup taught me all I needed to know about my own brothers. None of ya cared that I wasnât the Mammon you all supposedly loved and cared about.â Mammon gags at the statement, before bitterly stating. âYou ainât no brothers of mine. And I ainât wanting to be your brother either.â
The brothers were frozen in shock, Mammon didnât want them to be his brothers anymore? Let alone as a family? The old Mammon would have forgiven his brothers as long as he knew heâd get their love and attention.
âI ainât wanting anythinâ to do with ya. Now get outta my sight.â Mammon snarls lowly as he heads back to the inner rooms of the penthouse. âArchemond! If they ainât leaving, sic the hounds on them!â he commands as the slam of a door was heard, echoing into the silence among the brothers.
âYou heard him, what will it be Avatars?â Archemond challenges as Lucifer could only shake his head, his family broken because of him once more. As the eldest leaves, the others follow close behind in silence.
Mammon stares out his high rise view of the Devildom night, somewhere down below were his brothers. Heading back into the house without him, it was all they wanted, right? And heâd finally give them everything they wanted.
âGoodbye dear brothers.â
End.
A/N : And thatâs it! Thank you for reading! All We Do will be worked on next, so be on the lookout for that!
Love Oh Baby! Brotherâs Aftermath I hope you can make a next one
Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed the aftermath. But I won't be making a continuation of this series. I am completely burnt out from the replaced!au and I want to write other stories. Sorry!
A/N : So I wasnât planning on making this into a series but I figured Iâd do the brotherâs reflections and perhaps the last part where they try to reconcile with Fem!MC. This fic will be written differently in the brotherâs perspective if the child is theirâs.
A/N pt2 : This might not be written as well as Iâd like as you can tell from the various ways Iâve written the brothers. But I am burnt out on writing in the replaced!AU so a definitive ending will probably not be out. Maybe in the future, but I canât promise anyone anything.
Best to read my fic Oh Baby! to get some backstory to this.
**âCW: general angst, parental abandonment, unhealthy coping habits(?) **
Having been banished by Lord Diavolo from ever seeing you and their child again, the brothers had silently returned back to the House of Lamentation where they were forced to face the reality of their actions.
You were gone, and your child was gone as well. And it was their fault for not catching onto the charm of Maura, no doubt learning the best from the Great Witch Maddi. They had been so easily charmed and believing that Mauraâs baby was theirs, and you, out of jealousy had proclaimed you were pregnant as theirs as well.
You had been nothing but honest, you had held onto hope that the demons you loved would have believed you. Yet the brothers had easily evicted you in favor of the witch. And they had moved on as if you didnât exist. The last they saw of you was your pained look and the upsetting cries of their baby were etched into their memories.
Scattered across the house were various things for the baby: baby supplies, books, clothes, toys, and in a cruel twist, they had turned your room into the nursery for Mauraâs baby. The gifts they had once given you, had been tossed out and a group photo of you and the boys had been smashed on the ground.Â
He couldnât remember how that night went down, he could only guess that you were desperate for any affection from him, and that was how his child came to be.
And now they had to face the music and pick up the pieces.
Lucifer
Being the eldest and the most powerful of the seven brothers, he should have seen this and prevented it ever happening. Yet again, he had failed someone he loved. And as with Lilith, he couldnât ever see you nor his child, and be a family once more.
Fuck. The Great Maddi
She had gotten him this time, this was her plan all along. The witches knew how close you were close to the Avatars, of course they would do anything to tear you apart. How could he not figure it out sooner before it got out of hand?
He should have payed more attention to how one by one his brothers had been deserting you, before he fell under the same spell as well.
He instructed his brothers to clear your room of the baby supplies, if anyone was up to it. Mammon could take them all back and sell them if he wanted, or Asmo could drop them off to the neighborhood children who wanted them.
He just wanted them out.
Sealing his room with a spell and soundproofing it as well, Lucifer drags his feet to his cursed record collection. Picking out the album that he was searching for, he blows the dust from it and sets it in the record player.
Pouring himself a glass of demonus, he sat down in your favorite chair where you had watched him work. The soft melodies fill the room as Lucifer swirls the liquid around and his vision starts to blur. The record was the same one when you both danced around in his office as a much needed break from his paperwork.
The song feels more hollow to him now.
How could he have forgotten how terrified you looked as you held his child? They had his eyes, trembling ruby red eyes that had gazed upon himself and his brothers. He couldnât fathom the pain you had gone through without him and his brothers.
His literal pride and joy was stolen away because he hadnât been quick enough to catch onto the way his brothers, one by one had betrayed and strayed from you. He could only imagine how you and his child was living your lives now without him.
There was no way he could compete with the life that Diavolo had given you and his child, you were basically living with royalty. Everything you and your child wanted and needed was there in a snap of a finger. Barbatos was considered his equal as well, so how could he compete with them both? You and his child were very much set for life.
And great devils, the angels had occupied your life, as well as his child. Surely theyâd have an influence on his child, for the worse. Especially that damned chihuahua. Would he and Simeon speak ill of him and his brothers for what they did to you?
And Solomon? On the surface, heâd teach his little one spells and magic and since you were still his apprentice, heâd still be close to you. An awful thought came to him. That he would use his child as leverage to make a pact with him.
He had been a less than stellar parental figure to Satan, and in some ways hadnât been the best older brother to the rest of his family. But being unable to be there for his child, and for you, it might have been akin to losing you a second time.
But he would never have wanted to be a horrible father. He had tried to distance the one who threw him and his brothers out of Heaven for opposing him. Would you have instill the fact that he was a truly terrible father to his child?Â
He knew he and his brothers hurt and neglected you for the past months, and he knew that you would not forgive them so easily for the pain they had inflicted upon you and your child.Â
As the record comes to its conclusion, he goes back to put the record on.Â
Lucifer shakes his head as he grabs the bottle of demonus as such foolish thoughts wouldnât gotten under his skin so easily. He proceeds to drink the entire bottle and wallow in his sorrow once more.
His pride wouldnât have mattered if it meant losing you and his baby in the process. He would do what it took to find a way back to your heart. He would beg, plead, fall to his knees, if it meant you both would come back to him.
Mammon
Mammon, surprisingly was the first to get to work on your room. He had gotten a head start on disposing of Mauraâs things, throwing out all the baby supplies and trying to get your room back to how it was before.Â
Perhaps heâd sell them right after this, it was the most logical thing heâd do. It was probably what his brothersâ figured as it was him who bought nothing but the most expensive and flashy things for her and her baby.
Heâd want to sell these awful reminders so he could buy you and his child the best of the best of course. But that moment was gone, you both were. Laying on your bed, he lets the tears fall as he tried to inhale any trace of you. But couldnât smell a trace of your existence here. He knew why of course.
And it was his own damn fault.
He was your first man, he should have been protecting you from what Maura had planned. Yet he was the first one to fall under her charms. Of course she knew what words to say to sway him in her favor, and how to isolate him from you.
Damn his greed to feel needed and depended on.
Finding the smashed photo of you and the family, his eyes started to water. The moment he saw the little carbon copy of himself in your arms, with the same trembling ocean blue eyes gazing upon him. He could had easily seen himself in his kidâs eyes and it was like a stab to his heart.
He vividly remembers the fear in your eyes from the brothers suddenly appearing once they found out Mauraâs baby wasnât any of theirâs. He remembers how it was him who outright rejected your baby. How he wanted to take those words back.
Why would you want him back? Or any of his brothers back?
Even if you wanted them back, how in the Devildom was he supposed to compete with the life you had now? You had everything you wanted and needed with Diavolo and Barbatos. He could hardly keep his greed in hold. How the hell was he supposed to provide for you and his kid?
Not to mention you had the Angels and Solomon by your side, were they going to tell his kid that he was the Avatar of Greed? A lowlife scumbag of an Avatar who did anything and everything for money at the expense of others? That his greed would bring harm to you and his kid?
You had made your point as they all had stepped up while he and his brothers shipped out. You had the best of the best now, why would you go back with him and his brothers?
As soon as he places the photo back to its spot, Mammon had sorted all the things heâd sell off, until your room was back to what it was before. Trudging over to the familiarity of your bed, he collapses as he starts to cry quietly.
His tears are soaked onto your pillow, he could only wish you were here with him. To hold him and to comfort him whenever he had a bad day with his brothers or the witches gave him a hard time. You had always been there for him.
Your unconditional love and kindness was something he had been greedy for in a long time. You were the best thing in his life and he so easily lost it as if it was another day at the casinos.
He wanted to be your first man again and he wanted to be in his kidâs life. All the grimm and treasures in the Devildom could never amount to the love youâve given him. Nor could it buy the unconditional love his kid would have given him either. Â
He wanted to give the world to you both, you deserved it after all that you had went through on your own. He wanted to be your protector once again, and he would be the protector his kid as well.Â
You were both the most precious treasures in the three realms, and no other valuables or riches could compare to. He swore by his fatherâs name, heâd fight his greed to be there for you and his kid. However long itâd take, heâd make things right by you and his kid.
Leviathan
This was like that anime, âI Got My Girlfriend Pregnant But A Witch Interfered And I Abandoned Her But She Had My Baby!â Levi was sure you and him watched that during his anime marathon ages ago. You joked how silly it was and itâd never happen, but here you were.
It was hard for him to wrap his head around the fact that he and yourself had done the deed. That charm must have stirred some courage in him if you both ended spending the night together, and that night had resulted in his little spawn being conceived.
He could see the fear in tiny citrus eyes that stared back at him, his own little spawn afraid of him of all people. He had never felt the want and need to have something as precious as them.
He had retreated back into his room as he had sunk into his bedtub, left to wallow in his misery. He had finished at his pace on removing the unnecessary baby supplies from your room. It was disgusting that he had burned through his Akuzon account to spend on Maura.Â
All the anime, especially Ruri-chan baby clothes and baby supplies were hard for him to let go of it. Being a devoted fan to his Ruri wasnât as satisfying as to him now that he realized that being devoted to you and his child. At least he wanted to know the feeling of being one, if youâd let him.
All he wanted was his best friend back in his life again.Â
He was the second to fall for Mauraâs charms seeing how she played with his envy. She had convinced him that youâd never want to hang with a filthy otaku like himself, and that she âgotâ him. She became his irrational thoughts come true when you couldnât make time with him and he had cursed his sin for winning over your words.
He already knew he couldnât compete with Diavolo and Barbatos as he was just lowly otaku. And the Purgatory Trio were able to care for you and your child without any commitment to lifelong anime and gaming. They were able to be there for you, unlike him.
He still had power as the Admiral of the Devildom Navy, but even that position would keep him away from you and his child if he was still on duty. Admiral or committed otaku. How could he devote a life with you and his child and still have both of the worlds he held?
It hit him now.
Would you want yourself and your child to be a part of his double lifestyle? He knew you probably wouldnât if he was committed to those interests rather than his own flesh and blood and the only friend he had. Heâd never be there and heâd choose his interests over you and the baby.
Would you have felt disappointed and disgust at the thought of him being jealous over all the time and attention you were giving to the baby instead of giving time for him and his wants and needs?
No.
You were the only true friend he had in his entire existence, and he wasnât going to let you slip out his hands. Nor was he going to be like his father and throw out his children when they were against him.
Like the determined protagonist, he was going to do what was right. He was dishonoring the otaku code as he had sealed the return packaging for Akuzon returns and sent them out. He didnât want to tie these disgusting reminders of Maura to his child. He would do better. For you, and his child. He wanted his best friend back in his life.Â
What was the point of going back to his old life if werenât there with him?
Satan
Satanâs first instinct was to wreck the entire house as it was where everything had gone to shit. Yet it would mean a part of you would have to go as well. Satan returns to your room, cat themed baby supplies, toys, and books sat, all from him.
Like Lucifer, he should have caught on sooner on what was going on as the brothers, one by one were falling for her charms and abandoning you. Perhaps the comment of learning from the Great Maddi was something he should have been more attentive.
Accursed witches.
â1...2...3...â Satan attempts to calm himself as he couldnât find it in him to tear these items to shreds without leaving your room as a warzone. He had lost you already, he didnât want to lose his child as well. If you two had ever decided to come back to them.
The night was a haze as he couldnât remember anything, but as soon as he saw his child, staring back at him with those vibrant green eyes. You had been telling the truth the whole time, and he could only feel regret for not finding out about Mauraâs plot sooner.
His anger within him were like ocean waves as they ebbed and flowed. He should have done more for you, a demon who valued knowledge, yet he had not foresee such a predictable outcome.
Carefully taking all the items in the room, Satan decides to leave them off at the local orphanage before he retreats back into his room. No little nuggets of knowledge or fantastical stories could distract him from the reality before him.Â
Lucifer wasnât a perfect parental figure to him growing up, and so he had to rely on his brothers to raise him. Particularly Mammon and Asmo. But the opportunity to be a parent to his own child was something he did not want to fuck up.
He wanted you and his child back, you both were worth more than the books and archives that he possessed. Finding a book from the human world, one on human anatomy. A rather large edition as he absentmindedly flipped through the pages.Â
He wanted to be there with every step of your pregnancy, he wanted to experience the wonder that was birth with you. His own birth was an awful reminder to his brothers of what they had lost that fateful day. What would his child see their birth as?
He so wanted to distance himself from Lucifer, who he saw as a failed parental figure to him. And now it seemed he was the failed parental figure to his own child. His blood boiled at the thought of comparing himself to Lucifer once more, and for the last time, he would do everything in his power to notÂ
Perhaps his child was in better hands? His child would be in a more stable environment growing up with the Royals. Even the angels and Solomon would provide a calm upbringing compared to the hand he was dealt.
Heâd devote himself to you and his child, heâd forgo his many pursuits of knowledge if it meant you come back. Heâd take a break from the Anti-Lucifer League if you both would stay, even if heâd wanted his child to take a part in it. You had healed the rage in him and fixed his family, he now wanted to heal what he had broken. It was only fair that heâd earn his happy ending.
Asmodeus
Asmo was a mess when they had come home, never to see you or his baby again. You were the first to love him for who he was, in his beauty and his ugly sides. He couldnât bring himself to clean your room right away. Eventually he would.
How could he though? He, along with Mammon had went all out in spending all the grimm in making Maura and her baby live like royalty. Having to let them go was such a waste, but none of that would fit you or the baby anyways.Â
Being the Avatar of Lust, the knows full well of the consequences of the many flings he had over millennias upon millennias. He probably had thousands of children that he carelessly left behind in his wake.
Yet when it came to you, and he had saw his child in your arms, he could not fight the tears that followed. Of course you had been telling the truth, and he and his brothers didnât believe you. Little light orange eyes that could only be his, had stared at him as he were looking at his own reflection.
The fact you had rejected him and his brothers when they had snapped out of their shared control, it hurt him more than anything. You were the only person besides his family that he truly loved, and heâd still want you even if you had banished him.
Asmo sneaks into your room and it seemed like the brothers had cleansed it of Mauraâs presence. He lets out a quiet sigh as the familiarity of your room had returned for now, and decides to head into the closet. Inside, there were the maternity clothes and baby clothes that had been left behind.Â
How did the charmer managed to be charmed? Asmo isnât too sure but heâs pulling the clothes and tossing them into a pile. Warm tears were starting to blur his vision as he emptied your closet, all that was needed was your clothes to be put back in its place.Â
It was beyond his wildest dreams to have a child with you. When he saw his child in your arms, his heart swelled with love and adoration. Yet, at the moment he could only feel so empty.Â
You were more than just another conquest, you had seen the ugliest side of him, along with the angelic and caring side of him that had been buried deep within him. Your love for him mattered more to him than any of his adoring fans, and right now, he wanted nothing but to shower you and his baby with all the love he possessed.
Not only did you heal the rifts in his family, you had healed the many rifts of insecurities within in his own heart. You had reminded him many times over that he didnât need to be perfect for anyone, but for himself. Yet he had wanted to be perfect only for you.
Between the sobs and sniffles, Asmo could only look at the mountain of clothes and accessories spent on. If only he could be the one that spent all his time and money on you and his baby, Â
No amount of self care and partying could heal the hole you left in his heart as he knew you were in good hands. Diavolo, Barbatos, and the angels would treat you like the queen you were. And Solomon? Asmo had hoped he could find a way for Solomon to keep him in the loop on how you were doing.
He knew you wouldnât come back so easily, but he could only hope youâd forgive them for something out of their control. He would throw himself at your feet, commit every fiber of his being to you and the baby if it meant youâd come back.Â
Beelzebub
Beelzebub was reluctant to go back home, he desperately wanted to have you and his little one back to be a family once more. Again, it was his fault that he had lost those that he had loved.
He had lost two more family members, you and his little one. He had vowed himself as the familyâs protector, yet he couldnât protect you from himself, nor Mauraâs charms over him and his brothers.
Remembering how it was him and his twin who guarded Maura, Beel felt how queasy stomach felt right now. He really was just the dumb muscle of family as he blindly followed his brothers without question.
Beel would help clean out your room of what was there for Maura, as he tried to find anything left of you. Clearly, that wasnât the case after the day you announced your pregnancy and left the brothers for good.
How could he have not noticed the strange knots in his stomach and irregular hunger patterns? They were obviously from you as you had gone through your cravings phase. Throughout it all, did you eat well? Did Solomon feed your his gourmet atrocities? You must have been well fed since you got the best food from the three realms.
Cleaning out the room, he had found baby food that he had proposed, and with Lucifer and Satan giving the green light, had enough food for the babyâs first crucial years. Beel frowns at the baby food, of course he wouldnât let it go to waste. Maybe heâll join the brothers in taking all of it to the orphanage.
Staring at the cleansed room, Beel wished you were back here with his baby. Sure the baby shared his twinâs eye color, but he was observant to notice the light orange peach fuzz on their head. His own little bub, only to slip out of his grasp as like Lilith had done before.
Finding himself in the kitchen, he could only reminisce on the memories you both had spent here, to be never felt again. Finding the fridge full of food, yet he couldnât find it in him to eat a thing. His hunger was directed elsewhere.
You were in good hands, werenât you? You had Barbatos, and at one point he had wished Barbatos cloned himself so heâd be here at the House of Lamentation. You also had Simeon and Luke there, you and your baby had all the food he could possibly imagine he could be feasting on.
He was sure Diavolo and Solomon would take the place of your protectors, with the Prince and the sorcerer with 72 demons; you were protected no matter what. He had prided himself as the familyâs protector, yet he couldnât protect you, nor his family from Mauraâs intentions.
There was a unending ache in his heart and in his stomach, and he knew the only way he could make it stop. He would do anything to have you back, he wanted you to cure this ache like you had done before.
He had wanted to explore the new possibilities with you and his baby. He had so many new places he wanted to show you and the baby. He wanted them to experience the many outings that he had done so many times with you.
He wanted to be your protector, and the protector for his child. He wasnât going to lose any more people that he loved. If you were to come back, he would commit himself wholly to you and his baby.Â
His family had been broken many times before, this time though. He would make damn sure that it would never be broken again.
Belphegor
Belphegor would have joined his twin in cleaning your room back, but he was too emotionally and physically exhausted from the fallout of what had happened. Their home didnât feel like a home now that you had left them.
And he, once again was the cause of your demise.
Once the brothers had finished clearing your room of Mauraâs things and her babyâs, only then did Belphie sneak into your room. Finding his way towards your bed, he collapsed.
The baby of the family sunk into the mattress, he was aware of the lack of your presence and he knew that trying to find any trace was hopeless. The last nine months were a whirlwind for him, and with the seven brothers. You were completely erased from their home.
He, along with his twin were the ones who had fiercely protected Maura as her personal guard dogs. He blamed his sin for not being aware of her charms as he and his brother were charmed together as one.Â
He saw his child in your arms and even with his twins eyes, he knew that they were his. A terrible ache swelled in his heart as he guiltily tries to sleep the thought off, yet he could not.Â
Belphegor may had the power to give people nightmares and put them into eternal sleep, yet he was quaking at the thoughts of his own nightmares of you both.
Your hatred of him would have bloomed back as quickly as you had forgiven him, and now would his child hate him as well? There were so many ways you could have punished the brothers for their incompetence and their baby would have been known of it.
He missed you, he missed the nights spent together whether taking naps in the attic together or staring up at the stars at the planetarium. And he wanted to share it with his little one now, but would you give him, or any of his brothers the chance?
You had repaired his broken family, and yet he and his brothers had broken you. And they were broken once more, when would the cycle of his family being broken over and over end?Â
As he holds onto your pillow, he could only wish you were here holding him in comfort. But you were in good hands now, what reason could you come back to him and his family?
As much as he despised Lord Diavolo and Barbatos, as much as he loathed the angels having any influence on you, and as much as the thought of you trusting that shady sorcerer over him and his brothers...They were the ones that did look after you and now looking after the baby after you were cast out by them.
Why would you come back? Did the love for his family died the moment they all turned on you? Belphie held the pillow tighter as the tears dared to be shed at the thoughts of having to watch you and his child just be a fleeting image.
The pain of having to watch you and his child live your life without him was enough of a waking nightmare that he could only wish he could wake up from.
The weeks soon turned into months, and the brothers were no doubt miserable without you and the baby. The house had never been so quiet and empty as the brothers sat in the living room.
By now, the house had been cleared of all traces of Maura living there and your room had been restored to its former glory. The only thing that was missing was you and their baby to make the house whole once more.
Another day without both of you just wasnât worth living as the brothers could only reflect on how they should have noticed the red flags. If they could go back in time and kick some sense into their old selves, none of this would have happened.
âI want to see MC and the baby again.â Beel breaks the silence as the brothers sadly groaned. Giving the brothers an apologetic look, Beel huffs as he gave up on his bag of newt chips.
It was apparent that no one spoke up about you since their banishment, and the brothers had resigned the fact that theyâd never see you nor the baby again. Nothing was going to make it the same as it was.
âWhy canât we go see them? Itâs not like we had any control of what happened.â Belphie mutters as he leans against his twin and closes his eyes for another nap.
The normally vibrant Asmo had been picking at his unpainted nails, âBut...We havenât been there at all, we might be here now, but she still doesnât want us.â he sighed dejectedly.
Satan sighs as he shakes his head, and tossed his book aside. âEven if it was out of our control. We abandoned MC, and the baby. We couldnât be there for her. Thereâs no doubt that she suffered greatly because of us, simple as that.â Â
âEven if MC wanted to come back, why would she? Sheâs living the good life over there at the castle.â Levi mumbled as he had lost interest in his game and sighed as he slumped into the sofa next to the twins.
Mammon who had been uncharacteristically quiet since you had left, looked to the eldest as he always did in crisis. âLucifer...Canât ya do anythin? Anythin, whateva it takes to get âem back. Iâll stop bein a scumbag if tatâs what it takes to get em back.â Â
Lucifer is silent for a moment. Anything? Memories of swearing allegiance to Diavolo flooded back to him. Would it have to happen to his brothers too, just to get you back? âThereâs nothing we can do now. MC has made her decision...It may as well take a miracle that she decides to forgive us. We will wait until then.â
They gazed upon the family portrait that hung above the fireplace. There, you sat in the middle of the brothers, who had surrounded you in the shot. There was only one thing they wanted.
All they wanted was to be a family again.
It was a normal day in the Demon Lordâs Castle as you were in the middle of an routine appointment with one of the royal doctors as your little one was growing up quickly.
âYour child is growing just fine. Impressive for the little spawn, the avatarâs blood is strong in this one.â Felnara comments as your little one was already teething. âIt seems the brews you had taken during the pregnancy havenât affected your little one very much. Which is good.â
The weeks had gone by quickly as your little one was growing fast, it was so exciting, yet so bittersweet. They were looking more and more like their father, which made it harder for you to forget about the Avatars. You had wished they were here to see them reach their milestones. You wished he was there to see his child grow up. But with the brothers being banished, you knew it was for the best.
Deep down, you still missed them all.
You had traded in a normally chaotic life with the brothers for a calm, yet orderly life in the palace with Diavolo and Barbatos. It would have been full of hardship had you been a single parent, a human with a halfing would be daunting for anyone. But you were grateful for the Royals and the Purgatory Trio, who were there to assist you and let you have breaks from being a mother.
âMC.â Barbatos had come with tea and biscuits for you. Felnara bows to the steward, giving your little one a pinch on the cheek before leaving you both.
âOh hi.â You reply back as if you were in a trance. But your little oneâs squirming in your arms and their excited babbling in response to seeing Barbatos reminded you of the present.
Raising an eyebrow as he studies you, you had these fleeting moments as of late. As you let your child nibble on a biscuit, you kept your focus on them. Barbatos hums as he rubs his chin as he knew you too well.Â
Since the day you found out the brothers had been banished from seeing you and your baby.Â
âYou miss them, donât you? Especially him.â Barbatos figures as you look away guiltily and sigh. He chuckles lowly and shakes his head as he sits across from you. âDo you wish to see them again? Him?â
âI do...I know itâs foolish of me to. Since, you know...â You murmur as you wipe the crumbs off your childâs face and their eyes met yourâs. There they were, a constant reminder of him. âI want them to know who their father is of course.â
âSo you have forgiven them?â the butler speculates but you shake your head in response.
âI havenât. Not yet. I know it was out their control, but I still felt the pain from what happened. But...â You look down at your child as they giggled at Barbatos and you sigh.Â
âI may not want them in my life at the moment...But I canât help but think about my little one. Somewhere along the line, theyâll ask me who their real father is. I donât think itâll change the fact that Lord Diavolo, Simeon, Solomon, and yourself are wonderful father figures to them. But, theyâll have to know the truth sooner or later.â You let out a frustrated groan as you could only imagine the many âwhat-ifsâ in the future when it came to coming clean to your kid about their absent father.
You felt worry lines creep across your forehead as Barbatos simply smiles, âI see. If that is the case, I will mention it to Young Master. He has feelings about father issues as well.â Barbatos states as he bows to you, leaving you with your thoughts.
Your baby fusses at the butler leaving them and you sigh as you kiss their head, âWell bub, what do you think?â
Now came the hard part.
Would you choose to forgive them for what theyâve done? And let them back into your life with their child? Or did you want to move on from them forever and forge a new future for the better of your child?
Will "All We Do" be on hold for much longer or will you be working on it next? Or do you have plans for something else/ a break before you decide to continue it? I caught up with it recently and it's so good. I'm biting my nails because of how it ended đ
Hello! All We Do is currently next on my to do list right after I finish the Oh Baby aftermath fic.
Though I can't promise it will be done in a timely matter as I do have midterms coming up. So it might be a while before the next chapter is up.
Are you still planning to make an Aftermath of the Oh Baby fic you made? I loved it so much and I want more of it!
Hello! I'm currently writing the aftermath. It's written differently so it's going to take a bit longer. But it should be out sometime this week or next week. ^^
