As you held the dagger, Lucifer reached out and slowly closed his hands around yours. Then he guided your hand upward, preparing to strike. Taking a deep breath, you held it ready, pointing the tip of the blade straight at yourself. There was no hesitation when you thrust it into your chest.
“NO!” His eyes widened in horror as it drove between your ribs, the handle he was still holding onto quickly becoming stained with blood, soaking his gloves as well. Carefully, he lowered you to the ground, his hands trembling as they hovered over you uncertainly. “No, no, please…” he whispered.
Weakly, you reached out, wrapping your fingers around his wrist, smearing even more blood over his skin. “I- I’m sorry, Lucifer,” you gasped out tremulously as unbearable pain crashed over you.
“No, no…” he repeats, blinking rapidly. Was he holding back tears? You couldn’t tell, your vision was too blurry. Only when his thumbs stroked bloody streaks across your cheeks did you realise you were crying yourself.
Each breath you took was labored and unsteady, but the pain faded away, ever so slowly, giving way to a paralyzing cold, threatening to pull you down. Uncontrollable shivers coursed through your frame.
“You can’t die. Not now. Not like this. Please,” he all but begged.
I’m sorry, you wanted to say, but your mouth refused to obey you.
“You’re not going to die like this, I won’t allow it.”
You smiled at him and his face crumpled.
An agonised sob was the last thing you heard when you exhaled your last breath.
With a strangled gasp, you woke up, a hand pressed against your chest, right where you had driven the dagger into your flesh. There was no wound, no blood - just the sensation of your heart pounding within your ribcage, stuttering with each frantic beat. It took you a moment to orient yourself, to realise you were in your room where everything had taken place, but you were unharmed, alive. In the dim light, you looked down at your hand. The ring was right where it belonged, wrapped around your finger, proving that everything was fine, nothing bad had happened. No one got hurt. No one died.
And yet you couldn't stop the wild beat of your heart, primal fear still gripping you. You could almost feel the warm blood sticking on your skin, soaking through your shirt. Taking a deep breath that just ended up getting stuck right in your throat, you tried to calm yourself. To be rational about it.
It hadn't even gotten further than the attempt to take your own life back then. The blade never pierced your skin like it had in the dream, where it slid between your ribs, piercing your heart. Simeon arrived just in the nick of time, thwarting what was about to happen.
Still, there was an ache in your chest, hot and searing, as if the dagger was stuck deep inside you, ripping you open. It wasn't. Of course it wasn't. You knew that, you weren't stupid. It was a nightmare. Just a stupid nightmare. You knew. But what if…?
No. No. You needed to-
The thought hadn't even fully formed in your rattled mind, and you were already on your feet, shivering slightly as your bare soles met the floor. You didn't think about where you were going, acting more on instinct than anything as you padded through the dark corridors. When the familiar door was in front of you, light seeping out from the gap despite the late hour, you only hesitated for a short moment before pushing it open.
He raised his gaze from the documents in front of him, hair slightly mussed, the tie around his neck loosened. “Lucifer…” You hated how small your voice sounded, how shakily his name left your lips. Wringing your hands anxiously, you watched his eyes soften when he saw you standing there, looking so obviously rattled. He immediately stood up, walking over to you, reaching out to gingerly untangle your fingers. Without a word, he slowly wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer. A quiet, wobbly sigh of relief escaped you as you found yourself pressed into his chest. Your arms snaked around him in turn, fingers clutching tightly into his shirt, no doubt wrinkling the fabric. One of his hands found its way upwards, cupping the back of your head and holding you firmly against him. Closing your eyes, you let yourself sink into him until all you could feel was the strength of his hold.
The first sob that came forth unbidden startled you, and you found yourself helpless to stop the tears that followed. Instinctively, you began to pull away, not wanting to soil the expensive fabric of his clothes. However, Lucifer refused to let you go, instead shushing you quietly and pressing his lips to the crown of your head.
“It's alright,” he simply said.
It's not alright, you wanted to cry, nothing about this is alright. But you were unable to find the strength to speak, to force the words out. Instead, you vigorously shook your head against him, trying to choke down the sobs escaping you. He hummed in response, gently swaying from side to side with you.
“I know, I know.” His hand smoothed over your back in slow circles while he cradled you as closely as he could, making sure to fully envelop you in his warmth. Your knees were like jelly beneath you, threatening to give out if it weren’t for Lucifer keeping you upright. “Breathe with me,” he encouraged you. “Slowly now.”
Trying your best, you mirrored the exaggerated way his chest was rising and falling against yours, contrasting the shuddering, uneven breaths you had been gasping in. Despite the occasional quivers in your breathing, you could hear him humming in satisfaction at your efforts. And, gradually, the sobs stopped, replaced by quiet hiccups, and the strength returned to your legs.
Only when he felt the tremors in your body ceasing did he pull away a little, cupping your face in his palms, thumbs wiping away the moisture on your cheeks. “There you go. You did really well. Are you feeling better now?”
Meeting his gentle gaze with your teary eyes, you gave him a small nod, sniffling quietly. “I'm sorry, I… I didn't mean to bother you,” you responded quietly, leaning into his touch.
“You need not apologise for such a thing,” Lucifer gave back without hesitation, tightening his grip on your face slightly. “I'm always here for you, no matter what. You know that.” He wrapped his arms around you again, kissing your temple as he held you close. “Do you think you can go back to sleep?” he asked softly.
You tensed at that, the thought of returning to your bed now, all alone, was enough to make your heart race all over again, your fingers digging into his back. “In my room, with me,” he added when he felt you going rigid, soothingly stroking your hair. “I ought to get some sleep as well. What do you think, hm?”
“Okay…” you mumbled, reluctantly pulling away from the comfort of Lucifer's embrace and wiping away the remnants of tears with your sleeves. “Don’t you have to work?”
He glanced back at his cluttered desk before looking at you with an indulgent smile. “The papers will still be here when morning comes,” he assured you, brushing a stray strand of hair from your forehead with a light touch. “I’d much rather be with you right now.”
The house had gone quiet after a book had been slammed shut with such a force the sound had leaked through the closed door and reached out their ears as a threat, the low groan that followed startled them as though a lightning had struck their chests. In silent agreement the inhabitants of the gloomy manor tiptoed upstairs towards the room where the muffled screams were coming from.
"I am aware of the fact I must do as you say, however on this occasion my final answer is a no".
A deep sigh was audible, and the eavesdroppers could picture the eyes rolling that accompanied such sound.
"Lucifer..." the always friendly yet commanding voice uttered with a slight hue of a plead. "I have no option here, refusing it could lead us to another war, you know. And that's not good for anyone, it won't change anything, it's just a protocol... he promised".
"I know better than trusting father's promises", as usual, the words were expressed with resent, however, this time, pain could also be perceived in his voice.
Silence followed to such statement, they were surprised father was mentioned, and they knew that name could only mean trouble, the curiosity they had been feeling was slowly replaced with the growing concern encroaching their hearts, they held their breaths for some minutes waiting for the conversation to continue.
"You have to do it, Lucifer, I wish I could do something in order to prevent that from happening because I know how much pain it brings to you, but as the next in line for the Devildom's throne I seek for peace between your father and us".
Another sigh, one that made the ones listening on the other side of the door feel sorrow.
"Tempting this new favourite human of his to prove if he'll remain loyal after he makes him go through more suffering than his body and heart can bare sounds souless"
"I have to agree, especially since he claims he's his son, the best one, but I don't have any right to interfere".
"He hasn't changed one bit, and I still don't understand what he wants from us... I used to be his favourite too at some point, he punished me and my brothers for my lack of obeying due to unfair matters, now he's repeating his actions, maybe he's afraid he'll turn his back at him as I did when he finds out he only cares about power, for his own good I hope he's able to thrive".
"Even if he does..." Diavolo muttered, and then stopped himself.
"Even if he does? What's that supposed to mean?" Lucifer raised an eyebrow, fearing about that man's fate.
"I've heard he's been condemned ever since he was born, he's had plans about his death, which are not pleasant by the way".
Everyone including Lucifer felt a shiver running down their spines.
"There must be another option".
"You know your father better than I do. You have to leave tomorrow and take water with you because these thirty days in the desert will be tough, that guy will be put on a test, and he'll be fastening for the thirty days, at least you won't have to do through that, come to my office tomorrow, I'll hand you the instructions given by the Celestial Realm".
Everyone was in shock after hearing those sentences and five out of the six demons listening, trembled, as they remembered the pain and suffering, they had been forced to face and feared for the fate of the man Diavolo and Lucifer were talking about. They looked at each other, sharing their sorrow, except for Satan who seemed oblivious to it, as he knew the story but had not witnessed it completely. Heavy steps reached the door and it soon opened without notice, the sorrow was replaced by surprise, the now uncovered six demons ran towards their rooms and Diavolo chuckled at the sight, it had not annoyed him, he always found the demon brothers' shenanigans hilarious.
"So... Lucifer has to tempt this guy" Leviathan summarised while his body trembled... "Because father wants to prove if he'll stay by his side even if he tortures him?"
"And Lucifer will have to do the dirty work? How's that fair? Everyone will think he's all evil" Asmodeus stated with a concerned look on his face.
"He's not though?" Satan frowned; he had been trying to retrieve his memories from the celestial war, he had been able to see a bit through Lucifer's eyes, but it was like a blurred picture, where everything he was able to distinguish was blood, "He's a sadist, that's what he does".
"It'll be humiliating for him". Beelzebub sighed and left the rice he was having aside. "Having to fulfill father's orders after being treated the way he was treated and having to pretend everything that's happening it's because of him... that's sad".
The six of them remained silent and thinking and left early to bed, Lucifer didn't leave his office for the rest of the day, and they knew probably they'd find a brief explanation letter about his absence the next morning.
No demon in the House of Lamentation was able to sleep that night, all of them remained quiet within their bedrooms as they were too concerned and didn't want to create additional trouble for their eldest brother, except for Lucifer's archenemy who left the house without being noticed and way earlier than the eldest.
"It has to be him?"
Diavolo nodded, but Satan could see the lack of confidence in his eyes, something that was not usual.
"It's not stated in the instructions, but Michael said it had to be him".
Satan took the sheets of expensive paper covered with golden letters that resumed everything Lucifer had to do.
"Let me do it, as long as his name is not in the contract it doesn't matter", Diavolo knew Satan had acquired vast knowledge due to the time he spent in the library, and while it was a risky decision, yet Satan was willing to help and it would save Lucifer from the humiliation, so he nodded, "leave before your brother finds out".
It took Satan two days in order to get to the dessert where the appointment was, he knew by then Lucifer was far behind, when he arrived he wrapped himself in a black sheet that covered him from head to toes just leaving his green eyes at sight. He noticed a young man on his knees praying by a huge rock. Satan intentions were not following the instructions as they had been told because while he still hold some kind of resent against Lucifer and he loved to annoy him, he didn't appreciate the Celestial Realm meddling in their affairs, they had been kicked out of it, now why they should obey them? It definitely had nothing to do with the fact he didn't want Lucifer to be humiliated by his father again.
Satan took a second but finally walked towards him.
"So, are you the son of God?" he asked casually, feeling the awkwardness of the situation raising, he could see the other man was nervous and scared, he didn't even dare to look at Satan directly in the eye as he continued praying in silence with his eyes closed, Satan sighed and cleared his throat, he didn't like to be ignored.
"Go away creature of darkness, no matter what you say I won't not listen to your evil words".
Satan sighed and sat by his side, surprisingly he didn't feel anger, even considering he was the avatar of wrath. Seeing that man in such condition made him feel bad. He was nervous, scared and he could see the uncertainty in his face, he was holding on the hope his father would come and rescue him at the very last moment, and he felt sadness knowing what the plans for him were.
"He'll forsake you, you know". He muttered as someone else's memory crossed his mind and his body... a memory of distress and abandonment, it overwhelmed him at a degree he didn't expect until he found a tear rolling down his cheek that he had to cover, he was supposed to be all evil and yet he was now crying because of a stolen memory from Lucifer.
"He won't" the other stated with a trembling voice, he was determined and had hope. Hope was a good thing, he decided no one should be deprived from such sentiment, so Satan just sighed and took the book he had been carrying while the other man kept praying for a couple of hours, after all, even if it was a bit boring, he had asked Diavolo to allow him to go and now he had to at least remain there.
"Do you want some?" It had been hours and Satan was getting rather peckish, he had been prepared for the trip and so, he offered the other man a bit of his beloved apple pie he had taken with him.
"I will not fall into temptation, you demon". Satan frowned and wondered what fastening had to do with anything, he looked tired and hungry.
He shrugged and started eating, since he could not bear it anymore.
"You know, it's very good you're not a cat or you'd very soon be having issues with your liver".
The man looked at him, frowning.
"What's... what's a liver?"
Satan frowned, then he remembered humans were still way behind when it came to science.
"It makes your body works" he explained. "Anyways, do you know cats can only survive a week without food? Still, it's very dangerous because their health condition could be severely damaged".
"I had no idea" the man responded, it was a bit odd a demon was talking to him about cats.
"How's that possible? Are there not cats in your hometown?"
"There are but I have never paid attention to them."
Satan took a hand to his chest and her mouth dropped wide.
"How's that even possible! Cats are beautiful creatures and fascinating, you know they can fall and always land on their feet without suffering any kind of damage, that's quite fascinating"
The interest of the man grew as Satan talked about cats in such a way, he was surprised, and for a considerable amount of time, he forgot it was a demon, and by the time the night fell upon them, he had to accept he was making his staying in that desert more bearable.
"And where's this book conference being held, Diavolo?" Lucifer frowned in suspicion as he crossed his arms over his chest, it had been a month or more since last time Satan had departed, Diavolo had said he had sent him to a book conference because he knew he'd enjoy it, it was only a coincidence the Celestial Realm didn't longer needed Lucifer to go to tempt that poor man, of course.
"In the East" he shrugged, "don't worry the event will end soon".
Lucifer didn't have too much of an option but to wait, he had a lot of work to get done so he committed himself to it, a letter buried in his previous paperwork then appeared in his desk.
It's been forty days, the temptation was supposed to last only thirty, go and pick up your young brother.
- Michael.
Lucifer rolled his eyes but forced Diavolo to disclose the location of Satan, and he picked him up, he saw how the human and his brother exchanged a hug while Satan wished him good luck and the man walked away while the demon looked at him with a saddened expression as he knew what future held for him, he thought he was a nice man and he was also smart even accounting to the fact humans had not discovered anything about their world yet... and by the end his new acquaintance was now also a cat lover due to the information he had shared with him, yet he could feel the pain of everything that was going to happen, he could perceive the same kind of pain Lucifer had once felt... The eldest frowned and Satan gasped as he saw Lucifer, no words were needed, they both began their way home.
"You didn't have to do this". Lucifer spoke in a low voice, always looking at the path that would lead them to the door to the Devildom.
"I did it because I wanted, not because of you". Satan lied.
Lucifer nodded and once they reached out the Devildom he smiled at him.
May I please ask headcanons for the demon bros reacting to Mammon giving them a a paper and saying this:
"I'll be moving out soon I got permission form Lord Diavolo and also some papers for you all to not come near or talk to me unless it's an important event. In short, we're no longer family, this good for you you guys since this is what you all wanted for so long."
A/N: Sorry if it’s not on par with some of my other Mammon angst, I hope you enjoy it regardless 😅
Warnings: Anxiety/panic attack(?), ooc in some aspects

Short Story
It was dinner time, and everyone except Mammon was at the table. Everyone was wondering where he could be, his credit card was taken and the brothers thought he had no money as of now.
Beel frowns and stares at Mammon's empty seat. Before he could say anything, the door opens and in came Mammon, with a stack of paper.
"Mammon where were you?" Lucifer stood up.
"At the castle." Mammon says dryly, giving him the papers.
"I'll be moving out soon. I got permission form Lord Diavolo and also some papers for you all to not come near or talk to me unless it's an important event. In short, we're no longer family, this is good for you guys since this is what you all wanted for so long."
Reactions
Lucifer
Lucifer was impatiently tapping his foot as he waited for the second eldest to come home
Usually, he wouldn’t care as much, but Mammon has been going out lot lately and he couldn’t help but worry
When Mams does return, he tells Lucifer he was at the castle while handing him the documents
What Mammon said and what the papers read..
It was restraining orders and a few other important papers
He.. He was going to lose another sibling.. Just like that..
Lucifer should've expected this, he pushed Mammon too hard, he abused Mammon so much, he wasn't being a brother..
He could only watch as Mammon goes to his room, supposedly to pack his stuff up
As much as he wanted to convince Mammon to stay, he knew any attempt would end up being useless
He tensed and shook, spitefully gripping the papers he has been given
Lucifer failed as a brother..
Leviathan
Mammon being gone was normal for him
Maybe he has been dealing with witches for the past few days
The nervous looks his brothers were giving made him worry though
Everything is fine, Mammon is fine.. Right?
Levi perks up the minute Mammon came back
But what he said made him freeze with shock
Moving out..? Mammon was moving out?
And they are no longer family?!
After Mammon left, he shrunk in on himself
His vision blurred and his breathing became heavy
Levi was quick to excuse himself and go back to his room, grab a weighted blanket and just hope all of this is a bad nightmare..
Satan
He was trying to think for the best, but all the evidence he gathered was leading to something bad
Mammon has been out more, he’s been either responding dryly to texts or not even responding at all, he’s been ignoring the brothers some days even!
Satan was right to be worried, as what Mammon said and given to Lucifer hit him right in the chest
What does he mean by they are no longer family..?
H-He can’t just do that!
He was bubbling with sadness and rage as he snatches the papers from Lucifer’s hands and read what they say
The papers were mostly restraining orders
How could Mammon put restraining orders against his own damn family?!
...It’s because the Avatar of Greed no longer sees them as family.. Isn’t it?
Asmodeus
Lately, Mammon has been completely ignoring Asmo, especially during photo shoots
Asmo asks to paint his nails? Ignored. Wants to do a photoshoot together? Ignored.
Okay, maybe that’s a bit harsh but still!
Asmo didn’t want to worry for Mammon as much as he was, he knew his older bro was strong.
When Mammon finally came home, he stood up, wanting to say something, but Mammon stopped him.
What he said... Was he serious?
Asmo wanted to go after him, but he was too shocked to even try
Tears well up in his eyes as reality hits him that he was going to lose a brother
The same brother who held everything together
The same brother who’s patience they took for granted
The same brother who helped all of them cope during the Celestial War aftermath
The same brother who he dearly loves...
Beelzebub
Rain traumatizing their himbo: part whatever the fuck
Beel was deeply worried for Mammon, as even he noticed the times he ignored them, or the dry/rare texts
He stares at the empty seat, not daring to eat the plate of food he had laid out for him
You can imagine his relief when he heard a door open and footsteps, but the worry set back in when Mammon hands Lucifer those papers
And what he said had Beel’s heart sink then shatter
He was a family man, and cares deeply for all the brothers
But.. Mammon doesn’t want to be apart of the family anymore
It was a lot to take in, especially with the fact Mammon didn’t even want them to around him
Mammon says that this is what they wanted, but in really
This is one of his worst fears, and it just came true..
Belphegor
Rain traumatizing their sleepy brat: part whatever the fuck
Belphie noticed how distressed Beel looks and would try to give comfort
He did find it odd how Mammon was acting
Belphie also noticed that the brothers seem to of crumbled somewhat since Mammon’s lack of communication with all of them
When he did return with papers, along with what he said
It had him awake in seconds
Was.. Was he serious?
He looked at everyone, all having mixed reactions
Belphie swallows thickly and goes to follow him, but Lucifer stops him
“Let me go!!”
“There’s nothing we can do, Belphie.”
“Like hell there isn’t! Let me go talk to him!”
Tears stung his eyes as he recalled what he has said

welcome "home"
Mammon knew he had been out for a while, especially knowing Belphegor’s power. The demon opened his eyes slowly, closing them a bit at the sudden bright light that had hit him when opening his eyes. He felt he was on a familiar mattress. Mammon turned his head to the right, opening his eyes once more.
He was back in his old room, from what he could see. It had been 14 years, and his room still looked the same. Mammon pushed himself up off the bed, he felt a cold piece of metal on his arm, he looked to see his wrist had a chain attached to it, which was attached to the concrete wall.
Mammon tried to break it, but found out quickly it was a mana draining chain, so fighting against it was useless even with brute strength. Mammon noticed it was the only restraint, and it was quite loose either way. He looked around his room again, noticing spells on the garage door and windows, and even one of the bedroom door itself.
He was trapped inside his room.
Mammon clicked his tongue then his mind filled with worry, where was Riko? Where was his daughter? Mammon pulled against the chain, making a loud ‘clang’ sound. Shortly he heard the door open, but the seal was still active.
He looked up to see Diavolo of all demons come into the room. Mammon glared at him remembering what his servant said. The demon prince didn’t look mad; he actually smiled towards Mammon.
“Welcome back Mammon!” He said, cheerfully like this was a friendly reunion and he wasn’t just kidnapped back from the human world.
“Where’s my kid?” Mammon sneered at the demon prince.
Diavolo’s smile faltered, but he put it back on quickly. “You mean the human girl? She’s currently downstairs in the guest room. She’s made quite a problem in the human world while trying to bring her here.”.
Mammon frowned, “I want to see her.”.
“That won’t be possible for the moment.” Diavolo said he grabbed a chair from somewhere in Mammon’s room, bringing it to sit in front of the bed. Sitting down formally. “First, I’d like to talk to you.” the demon prince said.
Mammon frowned, he knew something was up. “If we talk, you’ll bring my girl ta me?” he asked.
“Depends on your answers, if she clears then yes. I’ll send Lucifer to get her.” Diavolo said.
Mammon grumbled a bit, but nodded his head. His blue eyes still glaring daggers at the demon prince in front of him.
“I have the basic idea of what happened before you left 14 years ago. You brought the girl-” “daughter.” “-daughter to the Devildom. Lucifer found out and had the girl, you two got into a large dispute and you left.” Diavolo explained, correcting his words, that Mammon corrected him.
“I saved that little girl 14 years ago, and I was going to hand her over to a witch friend of mine to take care of her. Lucifer found her in my room and rough handled her. I got pissed and I attacked him. I left with my daughter afterwards. We were doing fine before ya came after me.” Mammon said.
Diavolo sighed, listening to Mammon’s part of the story. “Alright..” Diavolo looked like he was thinking about something. Mammon watched his every move.
“What have you been doing in the human world then?” Diavolo asked.
“Stuff.” Mammon answered. “Just some odd jobs for a witch.”.
“Who is this witch?” Diavolo asked.
Don’t say anything.
The voice said quickly, but for some reason the words faded, like a blocked signal. Suddenly a sharp pain flooded through Mammon, causing him to grip his skull in his free hand.
Diavolo stood quickly to Mammon’s side. Magic on his fingertips. “So Barbatos was correct.” Diavolo stated.
“‘Bout what?” Mammon sneered, trying to swat the demon prince away from him.
“You’ve possibly been cursed.” Diavolo said, not moving away from the swats. Mammon frowned at his answer, then remembered what he said before.
“Don’t you dare think my kid did this ta me!” Mammon yelled at the demon prince, causing the man’s eyes to widen. “My kid wouldn’t hurt me. Never!”.
Mammon’s demon form began manifesting again, Diavolo quickly put it down. “We just suspected Mammon, calm yourself.” Diavolo ordered. Mammon continued to glare at the man with hatred.
“Let me see my daughter.” Mammon ordered right back. Diavolo sighed, he wished to question him more, but see he hit a nerve. Diavolo nodded before opening the door, saying something to a person outside, seeing the slight figure, he could guess it was Lucifer.
Diavolo didn’t leave the room, Mammon glared and watched him like a hawk the entire time. He could see how much that human meant to Mammon, seeing his reaction. “She’ll be here soon,” he said, sitting back down onto the chair.
Mammon frowned, crossing his arms over his chest. “Guess I’m a prisoner here now?” He asked.
“We don’t wish for it to be that way. But it’ll stay that way for a while. Until we know you won’t attack anyone, or harm yourself.” Diavolo said. “You’re not in any trouble, well you haven’t broken any rules, but you might be in trouble with Lucifer though.”
Diavolo tried to make it sound lighthearted. Mammon almost responded before the door opened and a flash of black flew into Mammon. Mammon quickly put his arms around her, “Dad!” she hid herself in him.
Diavolo seemed a bit surprised at the interaction between the demon and human, seeing that this human truly looked up to Mammon like a father. Lucifer stayed in the room, closing the door behind him.
“So I guess she wasn’t the cause?” Lucifer asked, looking at Diavolo. Diavolo shook his head, “She didn’t do it, but a witch did.” Diavolo answered the elder demon.
Lucifer looked at Mammon, who held Riko close to him, glaring at Lucifer. “Welcome home Mammon.” Lucifer said.
Mammon didn’t respond. The tension in the room was thick. Lucifer sighed heavily. “Diavolo, could I try to talk to him alone?” he asked.
Diavolo nodded and left the second-eldest’s room. Lucifer took the seat Diavolo was sitting in. “What happened-”
“I didn’t say I wanted to talk to you.” Mammon grumbled, his tone irritated and his body showed it also.
Lucifer frowned, this wasn’t the same Mammon he always knew. Not his cute little troublemaker brother he always knew and loved, this was someone completely different.
Could this be from how far Lucifer and his brothers pushed him? Could this be from the curse he was inflicted with? Or could this curse bring out Mammon’s true emotions towards his brothers he hid for so long?
Lucifer did not know the answers to the questions, or even which question was the right one to ask. Lucifer took a deep breath, pride be damned, this was his brother.
“I’m sorry.” Lucifer said, bowing his head towards his brother. “Mammon… I am so sorry.”. Lucifer didn’t look up, he didn’t know what expression that was on his brother’s face, or if his expression had ever changed.
The last fic I published was back in January that’s really sad
Apologies for not writing anything, again, university has been killing all inspiration to write anything. My writing might be rusty, so this might just be a bit of a warm up into getting back into writing!
With the Chronicles of a Fallen Warrior series, I guess this is a follow up to this fic, even if I said there wasn’t going to be a follow up to this. Not proofread, but it’s whatever I guess. D:
CW: Mentions of physical and verbal abuse, blood, mentions attempted murder, bodily harm, character deaths(non canon characters)
The House of Lamentation stood in complete silence as the wind blew furiously at the brothers through the broken window. Courtesy of Mammon after his outburst and the realization as they would never change themselves for him. As if the skies were outraged with the rumble of thunder and an impending shower started to fall upon them, all the brothers do is let those words sink into them.
“If I knew this was the family I’d have after we fell, I would have never followed you Lucifer.” “Maybe if you’d all let me die, I’d be lucky enough to go back to the Celestial Realm. And never see any of you again for as long as I live.”
It was a betrayal to their brotherhood, they had treated him like they would with the lower demons. Worst than that, they treated him like an animal, with disregard to how he felt and how they had treated him over the years. Mammon suffered in silence and never fought back, all for the brothers to thrive in their literal hell. He forever loved them, even with his body, heart, and soul, his very being was beaten down by them over and over again. But yet he still put his brothers first.
They failed their big brother. Mammon had sacrificed his well being to make sure they had it good. He was the one who tried to keep them together and safe from the new dangers of the Devildom. He was the one who had decided to take on the challenge in raising the raging ball of wrath that was Satan. Mammon’s favor towards his brothers was why they got to live it up. At the cost of his own happiness, even if he gave them the world.
He failed his favorite little brother and his right hand. He may have been a gleeful sadist and never outwardly showed affection to his brothers as the Avatar of Pride, but now it was his sin that brought his brother down. Mammon had kept the family together while he grappled with their fall and the deal with Diavolo about Lilith. How could he have repaid Mammon back in kind with such cruelty and Mammon stilled called them his brothers, his family?
Demons they were, but the bond between the brothers were supposed to be stronger than anything else in the universe. Yet the bond must have been at breaking point if Mammon of all demons had gotten so outraged by them. Did he even want to come back to them even if they would be kinder to him?
Such wishful thinking.
Mammon is the fastest demon in all of the Devildom, it is a known fact. Not even the most powerful demons, Diavolo and Lucifer could match his speed. And even in his weakened state, Mammon knew he was leagues ahead of his brothers if they chose to foolishly pursue him.
The rain had turned into a downpour and hindered Mammon from heading towards the casino districts where he’d feel more at home. The constant thundering gave way to lightning that danced across the dark night, not wanting to get struck by the elements, Mammon flies into an abandoned warehouse near the district.
Crashing through the worn down windows, glass shatters as Mammon crash lands into a pile of cardboard boxes and into the old and worn packing peanuts. He groans as he groggily lifts himself out of the pile and hobbles to the closest wall and leans against it, at least he was sheltered from the rain with a conveyer belt hanging overhead.
“Fuck me man...” The Avatar groans as he feels over his wounds, he grimaces as he still felt the wounds still healing. The wounds were healing, thanks to the work of Satan or Lucifer. He closes his eyes as the thoughts, along with the tears started forming.
Would his brothers treat him with more kindness now that they almost lost him? What if it happened again? Was he worth the trouble? Was it worth the insults and the physical torment from his brothers? Why did it take near death for them to realize that they could have lost him forever?
Maybe if they did, all their troubles would just go away. The perpetual burdens that he shouldered upon them, the shame and embarrassment that came from him; that the brothers would rather pretend that he didn’t exist. His constant sin of greed was always punished, whereas his brothers were barely acknowledged. Maybe a slap on the wrist for them while the more crueler punishments were always reserved for him.
He knew one thing, he was tired. So tired of being the designated stress ball, punching bag, and the target of their problems. Since when was it decided that he was the whipping boy for everything that went wrong in this family? Did he deserve it though? If he died instead of Lilith, would the brothers have acted the same?
Oh god Lilith.
If Lilith was here instead of him, they wouldn’t have all the problems that Mammon brought with him. No one would be complaining of their belongings going missing and the complaints of Mammon just being himself and his sin, all their troubles would have just disappeared. Maybe he should have died instead of her, everyone would be happier. The thought itself was almost too tempting to fulfil for the needs of his brothers.
Would that solve all his brothers’ troubles once and for all?
He screams loudly at the thought, the sound echoing through the empty warehouse, soon being muted by the loud sound of thunder boomed up high. The Avatar soon found sleep with his thoughts as the sound of the rain soon lessened over the hours. He must have made a decision then, a set frown gracing his facial features.
Morning came as the storm had subsided, leaving the Devildom streets slick with rainwater dripping down from building signs and puddles formed on the sidewalk. The citizens could have sworn it was Lotan who caused the storm last night as the day before was a bit of a dry heat.
Things seemed normal as everyday folk went on with their day, a crowd gathered around some dead bodies that stuck out in a nearby alleyway. Mangled limbs that had been tossed around like rag dolls, the rain had washed away the blood. Of course there wouldn’t be a case if there wasn’t enough evidence on who committed the act. The passerby-s would glance and continue on their way and made their comments on such a sight and the bodies were either eaten by the gluttony demons or claimed by family.
It was the way of the Devildom as demons would either kill or be killed to survive.
Mammon walked past the scene as he headed down into the Devildom slums, the last place any of his brothers would find him. Knowing them, they were desperately looking for him in the casinos or the horse racing downs. He scoffs and wryly chuckles, as if his brothers would actually go out and find him.
If anything, the thought of his brothers looking for him and wanting him to be home with them was laughable. If something like this happened to Lilith, they would have dropped everything just to have her safe and home with them. Him though? They would have waited days, maybe weeks after and then wonder where he was, and then they’d act on finding him.
As the glittering streets of the Devildom soon turned into the dirt cobblestone pathways, Mammon looks up at the less than stellar housings and the lesser demons who stared at him as he walked through the neighborhood. Some stared with raised eyebrows, others with forced reverence for the Avatar, and some acknowledged his presence before going on with their business. It’d be the perfect place for him to reside in, after all, what better place to house a scumbag like himself?
A raven caws and lands onto Mammon’s shoulder and nuzzles against his head, reprieving him of his thoughts. Mammon gives the familiar a small smile and strokes the raven, it caws lowly before cooing into Mammon’s ear, “Really now? They said that?” He shakes his head as he continues on his way.
His brothers? Kind to him? Back then maybe when they were little cherubs and little demon, but right now? It didn’t seem likely now, and maybe not in the future.
Stopping in front of one of the housing projects, Mammon knocks on the door, his ring clinking against the worn down entrance. Silence at first, but the sounds of footsteps shuffling to the door soon came as the occupant opens the door slightly ajar. “Who is it?” A demoness’ voice quivered on the other side as she dared not look out.
“It’s me Prislea.” Mammon answers as he remains where he stands before hearing the frantic fumbling of the door locks coming undone. And Mammon yelped as he was dragged inside before the door was locked back up once more.
The small dwelling where Mammon was pulled in was common for the lesser demons of the slum as he stood in what was more or less a living room. As Mammon groans and rubs his arm and turns towards the demoness, giving a small smile. “Ya look well, I mean, what happened last night and all.” Mammon starts as he gives the latter a once over and frowns as he rubs the back of his head.
The pale demoness rubs her arm and nods as she wrinkled her nose at the white haired demon. Her ebony locks contrasted greatly against her pasty skin as Mammon could see bruises from the night before on her arms and wrists. Bright topaz eyes shyly looked up at Mammon as she lets out a sigh, the smell of blood wasn’t lost on her despite the healing spells from his brothers. “Yes, thanks to you of course.” she replies before going quiet and gives the Avatar a weak smile, “You didn’t have to go and do that Lord Mammon.”
Mammon shakes his head and shrugs, “Listen dollface, it was nothin the Great Mammon couldn’t handle. And whaddaya mean? Course I had to do somethin. I wasn’t about ta leave yer boys without their ma now.” He gives her an equally weak smile as he plops down on the worn sofa, dust popping off as he sat, “And consider ya account with them demons closed, ya ain’t gotta pay money to no loan sharks now.”
“Where are tha boys anyways?” he asks as the demoness turns her head towards the sound of footsteps coming from the other room, “Speak of the Devil-” “Mamma! I’m hungry!” Out from the back bedroom were two demon boys, little carbon copies of their mother, but with citrine orbs, though just as equally bright as her’s.
“Mr. Mammon!” the boys chirped loudly with joys as the jumped onto where Mammon was and let out a squawk as they piled on him. “Ay! Easy now boys!” he cautioned, even with his wounds healing, they still felt tender. The second born lifts the older boy off him and chuckles.
“You beat the bad guys, didja Mr. Mammon?” The younger boy asks him as the older one tries to get a hold of Mammon’s attention, “Course he did! That’s why he’s here!” Mammon was in a fit of squawks and chuckles as he tried to pry the boys off of him and Prislea shakes her head. “Come on boys, get off Lord Mammon, he’s still recovering.” The boys groan as they did as they were told and Mammon gives the boys a half smile, “Of course!~ There ain’t nothin the Great Mammon can’t do!”
Mammon ruffles both boys on the head, “How’s about the Great Mammon treat ya to some lunch? On me!” he offers as the two boy light up as they turned to their mother.
“Can we Ma?” The younger one asks as he bounces around her, and the older one nods fervently and tugs on her hand, “Please Ma!? Can we get some real food this time?” Shooting Mammon a look of ‘look what you did’, Prislea sighs and relents to the pleading eyes of her sons, “I suppose if it’s Lord Mammon’s offer, we shouldn’t decline it.”
Well fuck. Mammon left the house without his DDD and his wallet of course. His mouth always did find a way to get him into trouble and this was no different. Well, there was no time to turn back as he followed Prislea and her boys to a small cafe just outside the slums.
As the boys skipped ahead of the grown ups, Prislea noticed how quiet Mammon was as she nudged the Avatar, “Something wrong Lord Mammon? You don’t have to do this for us.” The demoness looks ahead to keep an eye on her boys before turning back to Mammon.
“Wha-? Oi. Of course I gotta, gotta make it up to ya after last night. Yer boys got the scare of their lives of course...I couldn’t let ‘em lose ya. I mean...They ain’t got a papa around..Sooo...” Mammon trails off as the demoness comfortingly puts a hand on his arm.
“You’re uncharacteristically kind for a demon Lord Mammon.” she comments as she chuckles, “It seems your angelic traits haven’t been lost even after your fall. Your brothers are lucky.” She hears her boys call for her and Mammon as she shakes her head and continues on her way.
Mammon shudders, the early years in the Devildom was quite the troubled times for the angel turned demons. Not only did they had to transition into demons, they had to deal with the ball of wrath that was Satan. Mammon did what he could to keep his family together. He tried so hard to protect his younger brothers, though Lucifer seemed to come in time to steal the thunder from him.
All Mammon did was for the good of his family, so why was it he was paid back in pain and suffering? Mammon couldn’t remember Lucifer punishing any of his younger siblings with the severity dealt on him.
Satan and Beelzebub’s penchant to destroy and consume, Asmo’s partying and revolving doors of lovers brought to the house as his brothers looked the other way, Leviathan’s constant cursed games from his Akuzon purchases causing trouble for the boys, Belphegor using the baby status of the family letting get away with just about anything and everything, and Lucifer. Dear god, if this is what he got for loyally following his big brother to the depths of hell, then maybe he might as well quit while he was still ahead.
It was only fair that they got what they give.
“Mr. Mammon!” The younger of the boys called for him as Mammon shakes his head and catches up with them. The younger one leans forward and squints at Mammon as he tilts his head, “What’s the matter? You ain’t hungry? You still hurt?”
Mammon chuckles as tussles the younger’s hair, “Nah. I’m a’ight. Ain’t nothing the Great Mammon can take!” The older brother nods as he pushes the door open, “Of course he is! He’s the Avatar of Greed, he’s the second strongest, he’s tough!”
Mammon chuckles as the family heads on in, though it dies down as he’s left outside for a moment. The title of the ‘second strongest’, it didn’t really mean much to his brothers, did it? They were lucky he never unleashed what he was truly capable of was onto them for all they did to him. He could easy wipe the floor with them, and maybe put up one hell of a fight with Lucifer if it came down to it.
‘Tough huh. I’m tough. I’m so tough I can handle anything...Except my own damn brothers.’ Mammon shakes his head as he heads on in.
“Jus put it on my tab!” Well damn, his mouth struck again, but he wasn’t going to heave this on Prislea and her boys. Mammon said he’d pay off the tab if he could just get his beloved Goldie. He had assured the staff at the cafe that he’d return with payment if they’d give him a chance to head back to the House of Lamentation.
Mammon dreaded coming back to the House of Lamentation, especially with his brothers being there, probably planning to be all sweet and kind to him. All he needed was his DDD plus the charger, and his wallet. He’d never step into the house again.
Mammon crept over to where the window to his room was. The window looked like it was untouched, perhaps unlocked even. Perhaps it was a trap to lure him in and his brothers would get him then.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
Stepping into his room, it was surprisingly clean and organized, nothing like it was normally was. He had been expecting Leviathan to trash it, in the search of the figure he never stole. Or Satan coming in to trash his room as well, it’d be understandable that the fourth born would trash the room since last night?
And now was the part where his brothers jumped him, right?
Yet there was silence as Mammon silently shuffles around to gather his essentials. Reaching for his wallet and the phone charger, he frowns at his beloved Demonio 666 Lexura. How the hell was he supposed to get that out of here without his brothers knowing he was here? He huffed, some sacrifices had to be made.
The House of Lamentation was no longer a home to him if he was the only one singled out for his sin and inappropriately being punished for it. For so long he had to endure the punishments so Lucifer didn’t punish his little brothers. And in turn, his little brothers followed Lucifer’s footsteps in abusing and insulting him. Lucifer always called Mammon his favorite brother. Favorite brother to take out all his frustrations and to get off on his sadistic pleasures. By now he was sure he wasn’t even considered a brother if they’d continue this treatment of him, it was easy to cut his losses now.
Mammon takes what he needs as he lets out an exhausted sigh, and he heads towards the window. Not before a warm and familiar wind gently engulfs him what he figured was a hug.
“I’m sorry Lilith, I just can’t do this anymore.”
And with that, Mammon leaves the familiarity and safety of the House of Lamentation. Since then, the crows and ravens that hung around the house were no longer seen or heard. The House remains silent as Mammon’s absence was felt, the brothers could go on with their business, yet there was a gaping hole that they’ve tried to cover up. One that always tore open if the second born was ever mentioned.
Another sibling lost to the brothers’ actions, and one that could have easily avoided. But then again, they got what they deserved, didn’t they?

A/N : So it’s been awhile since I wrote anything, this was mostly to see if I could back into my writing, so this might not be the best thing I wrote. Hated how I ended it but I didn’t know how to end it. Still, I might bang out some other fics when I get back into my writing groove. Thanks again for reading!

"C'mon luci let's go play", a childish wish from a younger brother craving the attention of his caretaker, his grip oh so tight almost removing the circulation from the eldest arm causing pain tho not a lot. "Not now Mammon" the elder spoke trying to pry him off, "I am busy a little later alright?" The child just whines. "But luci...! Non of our other brothers wanna play, plus you always focus on your work!! Just play with me please luci" he looks like he'd cry if not give the attention, the elder tries all with his might eventually givimg in. His brother refused to let up, forcing him to be unable to do anything but allow the young angel to have his way.
"Alright I'll....play with you.."

"Lucifer?" Mammon slowly walked into the avatar of pride's room, a sheepish look upon his face. "I was thinking maybe just us to can spend time together? I mean your always focused on your work and I the GREAT Mammon think you should take a break at least for today ya?" Oh the annoyance Lucifer felt, how dare the destructive brother inturpt his work. He had very important papers and couldn't turn them away, they are very much more important than whatever money making scheme Mammon was thinking of making into some silly game. "No Mammon I'm not in the mood, my work is very much important as of current which must be done as soon as possible" he responds glaring at the tanned male. "But Lucifer I really think you need a break. Take some time to play a game with me your little brother?" "NO mammon. If you do not have anything of importance to tell me then leave." Oh how Lucifer will come to regret those words. "....fine" the former angel of charity leaves the scene, saddened his older brother rather kiss up to 'Diavolo than spend time with him. Bah like he cares.

"Mammy read that book to me again, the one about the prince and the Knight" a blond haired spawnling spoke, hands holding up his favorite children's book up to his older brother/mother figure. He was no older than a 6yo in human terms, a young impressionable 6yo at that high hopes high potential high... wrath. Oh sweet baby he was. 'Mammy' just smiled at his youngest sibling, strong tanned arms bringing the child into the elders chest kissing his head followed by a friendly laugh which radiated through the whole of HOL. "Of course I'll read to Ya tan tan!" The avatar grins oh how his heart fluttered and swelled, never could Mammon ever say no to Satan. "Do you want to read in your room or the library?" No answer was truly needed, 'Mammy' already knew. "library library!"
.

A frustrated Satan searched everywhere far and wide for his missing book. Where was it? Who could have took it? It could not have been some low life demon! Of course not this was HIS private library after all only he, his brothers, Diavolo + Barbados, and in few RARE occasions the exchange students could enter! Who in the world could have taken his book...Who would dare have the audaci- "MAMMON!!" Shifting quickly into his demon form the 4th brother avatar of wrath would go looking for the 2nd born with an undying force a desire to eliminate the thieving scumbag. He spots Beel, Levi, and Asmo all hanging out playing one of Levi's video games. Rare. "What's got your panties in a twist?" Questions Asmo raising his brow.. "let me guess the scumbag stole from You?" Levi huffed "yeah he stole from me to! I can't find my limited edition ruru-chan fighters game anywhere! Ugh!" "And my perfume and nail set" the 2 OBNOXIOUS siblings spoke both seething with hate. Beel just stayed quiet. "Have any of you seen Mammon at least!?" Everyone shrugged where was mammon no one knows. Annoyed, Satan retracts his demon form to instead visit Lucifer, man's pulling a snitch like Levi does. It's not like he cares about what happens to mammon.

He should have cared. Satan should have cared. He didn't care when he saw Lucifer whipping his brother, he didn't care when Mammon cried saying it wasn't him that took everyone's stuff. No..He didn't care when he saw Mammon's dull eyes looking straight at him while a smile plastered the elders face a really really fake smile. He should have cared he knew he should have cared. Yet he didn't. HE DIDN'T. He let it happen...He.. He let the man that raised him for centuries ever since he was just a little spawnling suffer..while He watched, while he participated, while he accuse, called him names, shamed, and emotionally as well as mentally abused him. What kind of brother was He? The blond avatar can only feel wrath seething, could only feel the wrath threatening to lash out at anyone or anything that dare DARE inturpt his search.
Where was He?
Where was Mammon?
Where was the man that used to read him books every night?
Where was the brother that used to sing to him while everyone argued and fought?
Where was his knight?
Where was the brother that promised to always be there for him?
He needed him
He needed his Mammy
Why wasn't Mammy coming to his aide?
"MAMMON!" He cries out continuing his search.

The demon wheezed and coughs, he failed his attempt, he's been lying here by himself stuck in the human realm for what..4 days now? Great.....just perfect...he thought he could do it much easier here yet...ugghhh whatever he'll..he'll try again. After all
Who could ever care for the great scumbag mammon

What has he done...he drove him away... he was trying to protect him from a fate worse than death, yet in the prideful Damon's efforts to protect drove him away. Fuck this was just like Lilth over again. It's been 5 days, they searched everywhere in Devildom by now and now were searching in the human realm. He felt the bond, the spukd bond no longer as faint as before...They were close....They were close they were going to find him. Once they do Lucifer plans to spoil Mammon rotten. Play as many games as Mammon wanted, bake with him, visit all the famous casinos, May be even gamble a little only a little! He was going to...he had to he needed..
Wait
The soul bonded was acting up like fucking crazy, he was close Lucifer is do undeniable close he'll find Mammon soon he will he knows! Following the little hot cold game the soul played he ended up finding a certain white haired demon who looked so disorimtated so awful. " Mammon!" He calls moving t grab him only to watch his hands go through him. "Wha-" no no it can't be..he was,no.."Mammon, Mammon!!"

They were to late..they were way to late. Their brother mammon? Dead gone faded into nothing. when they heard the news everyone's worlds broke into a billion peices.
Beel couldn't bring himself to eat for weeks.
Belphie struggled with sleep constantly waking from nightmare upon nightmare.
Asmo shut down, a response no one could read for not a single person can tell how this plagued him.
Levi left his room often yes but constantly sulked, he never dare talk about or mention ruru-chan or anything related instead walking in and out of Mammon's too, on occasion to take his stuff hoping just hoping his brother would return.
Satan's wrath was off the hooks, when he heard the news he sulked for days upon days, he went through the stages of grief desperately looking through each and everyone of his spells to return the big brother/mother he had lost. When that didn't work he lashed out constantly, he lashed out at Lucifer accusing him blaming him to the mess saying 'he never cared' because he never saw a single tear in the those raven haired eyes. He moves onto the other brothers before moving onto himself, the boy broke. He read the story about the knight and prince as well as the other countless amounts of books his mammy used to read to him hopesnthst he'll return. He never did.
He never did. Lucifer...Lucifer Oh how he failed his little brother, some nights he prayed to their father with hopes of the return of his brother, null. How the once prideful avatars pride faded quickly at the mention of his favorite, he never truly did accept his death. Couldn't bring himself to. Lucifer oh lovely lovely Lucifer 'the failure first born' forever plagued by the last conversation he shared with little mammom before his death.
"Lucifer?" Mammon slowly walked into the avatar of pride's room, a sheepish look upon his face. "I was thinking maybe just us to can spend time together? I mean your always focused on your work and I the GREAT Mammon think you should take a break at least for today ya?" Oh the annoyance Lucifer felt, how dare the destructive brother inturpt his work.(work he shouldn't have payed attention to) He had very important papers and couldn't turn them away(why not turn them away this one time?) they are very much more important than whatever money making scheme Mammon was thinking of making into some silly game.(why didn't you play?)"No Mammon I'm not in the mood, my work is very much important as of current which must be done as soon as possible"(take a break Luci...) he responds glaring at the tanned male. "But Lucifer I really think you need a break. Take some time to play a game with me your little brother?" "NO mammon. If you do not have anything of importance to tell me then leave."(please come back to me...) Oh how Lucifer will come to regret those words. "....fine" the former angel of charity leaves the scene(I shouldn't have let him...).
A/N:this genuinely took a while like LITTERALLY lol. I stayed up late thinking and gathering inspiration cuz I only really write upon impulse and this was one of them. Anyway I'm happy it's done and hope people like it :) sorry if it's too depressing/to long or if there's grammar issues I stayed up writing like for days lol.
“How about you just kill yourself, Mammon? Hmm..? It’s not like anyone would miss you..~”(ASMO) Mammon already knew this.
“I wished that you died instead of Lilith.”(BELPHIE) He was also fully aware of this too.
“Your useless and holding the rest of us back!”(LEVI) Telling him what he already knows, okay okay...
“We all hate you so stop trying to get us to like you. It’s pathetic, really...”(SATAN) Oh.. Ok, he was somewhat aware.
“You do nothing for this family, Mammon. You're not a good big brother...”(BEEL) Excuse him, Mammon has sacrificed so much for this family. But he cannot be too mad because it probably came off that way for them, right? Right?
“Haha... Are you just going to take the insults? You really are pathetic.. Ahaha...”(LUCI) He has been taking the insults since forever... Maybe it was too long...
“We would be better off with out you.”(ALL) Better off without him... Yeah... Wait... He would be better off without you...
“Just leave already!!”(ALL) Oh...
SHATTER
The white haired demon sounded out the insults his brothers were throwing. The colour from his eyes faded quickly. The wall of lies he told himself, crumbled down, bringing the love and compassion for his brothers, down too. All that was left was hatred and sadness.
After all these years who would of thought that just a little, ‘Just leave’ would break him. But then again his cup was already full to the brim and couldn’t take much more until the pressure from the water broke the glass.
His brothers didn’t care for him, even after he did so much for them. Mammon went through years and years of being an emotional baggage and punching bag for them. He would always reassure them that they are loved. He worried for them over himself. He tried so hard for them to love him back.
But maybe that isn’t what he wanted nor needed.
Because for the time being he wanted their dead corpse on the ground. Their blood splattered on the walls. The house burned to the ground. The look of fear in their eyes.
He wanted to give them a reason for hating him. And what’s a better way than to try and kill them. That’s a scummy thing to do, right? Kill the one’s you love and adore so much?
He looked back up towards his brothers to see them all looking at him. He then noticed that he was giggling like a madman. He gave them a long thin lined smile and empty cold eyes. He took a few wobbly steps towards them. The orange head went over to Mammon and put his arm around his brother to keep him stable.
Beel then started apologizing, saying he didn’t mean all the stuff he said. Mammon turned his head towards the seventh born and a flame lit in his angel eyes. Mammon started giggling more. ‘Oh god... hehe... This isn’t going to be a very hu-man thing to do... hehe..’
Beel gave him a confused look but before he can ask, Mammon put his shaky hand on the red head cheek. He let out a little gasp as his older brother’s fingers dug into his face and pulled. Beel and Mammon were now face to face. The greedy demon’s angel eyes shone with hatred as he cooed,
“It’s all right, Beel~ It’s all right~”
Beel smiled awkwardly and tried to pull away when Mammon brought his knee up and slammed the seventh born head on it. Beel pulled back and held his forehead, which was now bleeding.
“Mammon-” Lucifer warned as he made his way towards them.
“Mammon!” Belphie growled and ran over towards Beel.
The angel eyed demon turned away from the bleeding red head and charged at Belphie. He grabbed his wrist and threw Belphie. Belphie hit the wall hard and coughed out blood. Lucifer turned into his demon form and lunged to grab Mammon while the others stood still in shock. Mammon with the side of his eye saw a hand coming towards him. He dodged with little to no effort and kicked the demon of pride.
Mammon giggled, “I’m done! I’m done pretending! Your right! I’m pathetic! A scumbag! I’m really, really USELESS!” He jumped back as Lucifer helped Belphie up. Lucifer then turned around and glared at Mammon and sternly asked,
“Mammon. What. Is. The. Meaning. For. Your. Action? Do you think you. Can. Just. Kick. Me?”
Mammon eyes shimmered and he held his hands close to his mouth as he chuckled, “Enough with the questions! I’ll be the one asking now! Do you all hate me now?!”
Asmo was hiding behind Levi, asked as he peeped his head out, “Are you ok?”
The greedy demon blinked in confusion and then laughed, “What does it look like? I’m not ok! And do you know whose fault that is?” He gestured with his finger at Asmo then to everyone else, “It’s yall’s fault! Hehehee... And now I want to give ya a good reason to hate me! And not for some thing I can’t control!”
Beel shook his head, “Mammon... We didn’t mean it..”
Mammon sighed, “A little to late for that Beel...” He pretended to wiped a tear off his cheek.
Mammon jumped forwards and boom! A fight broke out! All the brothers were in their demon form. They were surprise of how strong Mammon was. And to be honest the demon wasn’t the strongest but right now his hatred for them made him stronger. Funny right? Usually it’s love that out powers all. But now it was the dreadful hate towards them.
Mammon laughed like a madman when ever he made the brothers bleed. And obviously they made him bleed back too.
“WHY?” One of the brothers yelled out as Mammon’s eyes were looking for blood.
Mammon touched his cheek as he was thrown to a wall by Lucifer. He got up quickly and noticed (besides the blood) that he was crying.
He cried out, “I was never good enough for ya’s! I just wanted to be the brother ya could trust, you could depend on! I did so much for you all!” He flung himself at the blue haired gamer, “But it was never enough!”
“Mammo-” Levi was cut off as Mammon yelled,
“I WAS NEVER ENOUGH! I AM THE SCUMBAG! I AM THE BAD BROTHER YOU TALKED ABOUT ALL THE TIME! I AM MAMMON THE FUCKIN’ IDIOT WHO SHOULD DIE! I AM THE UNLOVEABLE LITLLE SHIT HEAD! And-”
Mammon was kicked off of Levi and looked up to see Satan helping him up. Mammon glanced around and noticed that he was cornered. He felt his strength leave his body and he felt kinda light headed from the blood loss.
Everything seemed to freeze. Mammon looked and saw that his little brother Asmodeus had a spot open. If he were to charge towards him... He could slit his throat. Mammon’s hand itched as he wanted to make the life of one of his abusers leave their eyes. He felt nothing but hatred towards them anyways, right? Then an idea hit him. If he kills Asmo, His brothers will attack him again. He wanted his brothers to kill him. He wanted them to finish the job they already started. He was already dead mentally, how about just kill him entirely.
He charged and in just a second, Asmo’s lifeless corpse hit the ground. Not too long after he felt something hit him and he fell to the ground.
Mammon felt the life drain from his body and could barely hear anyone. He then looked at Asmo and with his last breath he muttered,
“Oh... I’m sorry..”
No one heard him over the chaos.
He closed his eyes and his body felt light.
He felt refreshed. He felt calm. He felt ok. The it hit him. He looked down to see his brothers grieving over the loss of the 2nd and the 5th born. Mammon felt a stab of guilt but a hand touched his shoulder. He glanced up to see his little sister smiling pitifully at him. He felt a hand on his other shoulder and he gasped as he saw the pink haired demon.
Mammon remembered how he killed him. He also remembered how much he loved the demon of lust. He remembers how much he loves them all.
Asmo bent down to Mammon’s level and cooed,
“It’s ok Mammon. I forgive you. You weren’t in the right mind and that was partially my fault too.”
Mammon let out a cry and grabbed onto his little brother.
Yes Asmo was right. Mammon’s mental health was shit but he killed him. Asmo should not be forgiving him.
Asmo looked pitifully down at his other brothers and sighed, “I just wish I could tell them that where we’ll be going is a place for only joy.”
Lilith smiled warmly and gestured for them to follow her.
Mammon got up wobbly and followed, as Asmo let Mammon lean onto him for support. They walked through a tunnel and the deeper they went, Mammon felt calmer and stronger. He was able to walk by himself halfway through.
Asmo giggled and chased after Lilith who started running. Mammon smiled and something hit him.
He stopped and watched as the two stopped running looking back at him. Mammon shook his head and held his arms.
“Mammon...” Asmo and Lilith started slowly.
Mammon smiled and turned away, “I’ll catch up with ya two! I just want to check somethin’ out.”
They looked at each other and Lilith nodded. They started down the tunnel again without their brother.
Mammon felt a tear go down his cheek. He sighed. He started the way he came from. But as he went back he felt as if he were going down and he was. He kept going knowing he will never see his brothers or Lilith ever again.
The ground beneath him opened up and he fell. He fell to never see the light of day again. Because he was not going where those two were. He was going to hell. A place for bad dead souls, weather they are human, demon, or angel, if they are like Mammon they will go there. To burn for all of eternity.
