To say the older male felt awkward in this situation would have been an understatement. How can you feel anything but, when you’re around someone you should know so deeply and yet don’t. Circumstances have taken someone he felt kin to, and turned them into a complete stranger. How can he mend a bridge burned down by centuries and centuries of hate? It weighed on Yunho. Like a ton of iron gracing his shoulders, the thought kept popping up. Even as he invited you to join him in his penthouse while he fixed up his home… the stress was there. This era was much different, he couldn’t take you hunting in Seoul. But after so long, how does a father go about helping a son who has grown so strong on his own. A sigh passed those lips as he pressed the button to his flow and the elevator closed behind you.
He wasn’t angry, how could he be? His first child struggled through so much alone because he was incapable. Those deep earthy hues rising to take in your visage. How can this be made right… His mind was a battlefield and the scars of war taxed at his conscious and yet he’d keep this inner struggle to himself. “Do you have much you plan to bring with you?” the questions fell from his tongue lightly as he checked that watch. “From the… school?” those brows furrowed in a momentary confusion as he tried to recall where you resided.
“You’ll have to tell me a little about this place…” and your life after I disappeared, he wanted to add but the words played silently against his lips. “This will be a struggle. I know. But I want our bond, like your sword, to be mended. If you do not wish to stay here with me, you are not obliged, but I do wish to know you… Manato. ” firmly he gripped your shoulder. “Unfortunately the castle needs work, but when you see the apartment. Make your decision. I’ve already had a room prepared for you should you stay.”
“Plus.” The elder added with a lighter tone as his arm fell to his sides to rest in those expensive clothed pockets. “I’m sure you have many questions about your abilities… at your age, they should have manifested.” Sharply the elevator rang out as it halted to the last floor. The doors pulling open and revealing a hallway. Neat and clean with its white walls and polished floor. The door to the penthouse just a few feet away. “I have to admit I’m curious as to what you’ve inherited from me.”
The vampire had spent so many centuries hating the wrong person for what happened the day he had been turned that he almost didn’t know how to act in the other’s presence. He felt greatly ashamed that, because of his mistake, he had attacked the one who had given him the means to survive and be more than just a ronin. But even if there wasn’t a chasm between them, due to what he did, their dynamic had changed. They were no longer just friends, like before, they were maker and fledgling, and Manato didn’t know how that really work. His only experience had turned out really bad, so much so, that he rarely even thought about it.
The ding of the elevator doors closing behind him brought him back from his own thoughts and he turned around towards to the doors, looking up and watching the number go by. The invitation for Manato to move in with him was something that he hadn’t been expecting but he had accepted nonetheless. After having been certain of what Yunho had told him about that fateful night, Manato wanted to make that chasm fill up until it was no more and have his friend back, even if their dynamic had changed. At the question he shook his head lightly. “Not really. Two duffel bags, maybe. One with weapons and one with everything else.” He replied turning his attention to the male beside him. “Ren might have a little bit more or maybe less, I don’t know. That is… If you allow him to move in with as well, that is.” He added feeling a little sheepish about having asked that of the elder. But it was his house, after all.
The grip on his shoulder gave him strength and felt like it was anchoring him. He nodded at the request. “I want to mend everything, as well. And yes, I'll tell you about the school." He was about to continue talking when the elevator dinged again, signalling their arrival at the designated floor. He followed the elder out of the elevator before he resumed talking. “I think it was like a safe haven, for anyone that needed one, because the wards didn’t let anyone that wanted to hurt the ones inside, through. We also had classes that we could attend and trips the school organized.”
As they reached the door to the elder’s apartment, the younger vampire looked back towards the elevator and unconsciously counted the steps from there to the door. Not that he was expecting to have to flee the place but one never knew what might happen. At the mention of abilities his attention was brought back to the taller male beside him. “Abilities?” He frowned lightly. “I only have two. Psychometry and controlling metal. Am I suppose to have more?” He was now curious of what abilities he was suppose to have or would end up having.
