He has fallen but not an angel. He was alone but prays for company. He was blind – being in the dark for too long. He held out his hands and looked for the switch. He knew he cannot find the light if he brought his hands down. But it was midnight. And he was extremely tired. So, he gave up. But the chain of hope dangled in his fingers. He lie down and looked in the dark. I am afraid of the dark, he has whispered to no one. He closed his eyes and hoped loudly, I hope I wouldn’t wake up. But his heart has whispered silently, a contrast to his thoughts: I pray for the light to brighten up my eyes.

The night passed.

He woke up.

It was still dark.

Ok you know me, rant time.

Alina DID NOT lose her powers because of Mal. That makes no sense at all. The whole theme of the novel is greed. The ending was always going to be Alina losing her powers. “What is infinite? The universe and the greed of men.” There is a limit to the amount of power and Alina reached that limit in the Fold. That’s what the story is about, greed. She didn’t just give up her powers because of Mal. She lost them because that’s how it was supposed to be. She could have very much been Queen and Sankta and still end up with Mal. But that’s not the point. So being salty about her losing her powers instead of admiring how realistic the story is and how human Alina is is just stupid. And what’s stupidest of all is blaming and hating Mal for something he had no say in. It’s not his fault. It would’ve happened no matter what. It’s not his fault. It’s not his fault. It’s not his fault.

Sorry but find a valid reason to hate him.
