A week of reflection

Had a busier than usual week with some missteps for sure but also reminding myself that discomfort is the only way to grow.

It wasn't the timing I had initially anticipated but it was an opportunity I could not pass up applying for. I keep reminding myself that there's no risk involved, I have nothing to lose, but the part of me that craves success not-so-secretly hopes that I will get it. I'm content with where I am at currently, I love my job and what I do day to day. I had hoped I would exhaust all learning opportunities in this role before moving onto the next but it popped up and I have to try. We'll see what happens, fingers crossed.

In the same vein of professional achievements, I need to get moving on my studying for Law and Ethics. Ya girl does not plan to have to take that exam more than once. At least work allows education leave, which I plan to take full advantage of.

I love using planners but I also want to start better utilizing other productivity applications, like notion or something, just to see how that goes.

Something to look forward to: Leticia's wedding is in a week and I'm so excited to see all the traditional Latino culture incorporated.

Typing on my keyboard feels and sounds so satisfying that I'm just up..typing.

Side note: Wpm is in the triple digits if I'm just typing from my brain but transcribing?? Tell me why it's almost half as slow.

Okay, I get the cult following that Leobog has. I got one before and didn't like it enough so I returned it. THEN I had my erg eval where it was recommended that I use an Alice keyboard so I ordered the Leobog A75 and I think I'm in love. IN. LOVE. So creamy.

My only complaint is that it's cream colored, which doesn't really go with any of my keycap sets presently and it kinda throws me off but that's an easy fix, I guess. I hope they come out with more colors, I definitely want to be able to get one for home and in-office.

Edit: I found the perfect keycaps for it that would make it less stark white on beige.

Sooo I would consider this past weekend to have been a rollercoaster of emotions for me. I had a great start to the weekend- spent it with good company, got a fantastic new monitor that I can't be more in love with (1080 to 4k is actually life changing) AND got the new switch 2. Here is where the trouble begins. In the process of transferring my data from the OLED to the 2, of course I lose the only data that matters to me: my ACNH island. 875+ hours sunk into it, gone. I called Nintendo multiple times and no one was able to recover any data, it just no longer exists, lost in the void forever.

Devastation would most aptly describe what I was feeling. I kept telling myself, I have gas in the car, money in the bank and a job that I love, but grief is what it is. There was no option but to pick myself up and start a new island, so here I am, spending all my free time rebuilding. Granted, it's only been a few days but it's coming along and I guess the feeling of loss is dimming (for the most part).

Oh yeah, and SJMade Summer Fest was fantastic, as always. I really hope they continue to grow and continue to have events. It is so well organized, the artists who attend are so talented and well curated- I honestly think it's one of my favorite events.

Additionally, boo bear got back from Ireland and did so well in buying me souvenirs, lol. Although Ireland is renowned for its knitwear, I just knew my sensitive skin wouldn't be able to tolerate the itchiness and so did he, so he got me green sweaters with IRELAND across the front instead and I couldn't be more excited for sweater weather.

The feeling of finding the perfect ring is exhilarating, I can't wait until it's on my finger and I can feel forever in my bones.

French press Thai tea is one of the best ideas I have found in awhile and it's so good.

Current snack fixation: dill pickles, hot cheetos limon, cream cheese and bacon bits.

I am also dyingggg to go back to the farmers market in LA at The Grove because not only do they have the best Dubai chocolate bar and Lindt Les Pyreneens chocolates but I want to try the Turkish delights to see if any of them were worth Edmund giving up his entire family and more of the food stands.

ALSOOO, even though we haven't signed our lease yet, I am READY to start decorating. Home Goods has such cute decor out for the new season, I want it all.

Coming to the conclusion that there are actually very few cafes that make a matcha that tastes as good or better than the ones I make at home

I will never go back to any other sized throws other than king sized. Elite coziness.
