What? When did i ever villainize anyone of you?
Now, i feel terrible about apologizing. Shouldn't have done it in the first place. Everything was sorted out, and you just had to step in with that post where clearly you are the one villainizing me.
I wasn't going to voice my thoughts regarding this whole thing after the answers I got from djmarinizelablog. I decided to leave it there, but now I think it's better if I state them.
All i did was ask djmarinizelablog for an explanation as to why all these events are only for filos, because the last time i checked levihan wasn't a Filipino ship. after they explained the reasons, I was able to understand and therefore, i apologized.
never did i attack them, never did i villainize anyone.
Its alright if you want to do events only for the Filipinos, even though the whole concept unsettles me because it really does seem like some gatekeeping. But its fine, I wasn't going to say anything.
The point is not about how content catered to Filipinos is hard to translate and we won't get the jokes whatever. That thing is understandable.
The point is but 'Have you even ever catered to the international fandom too?'
I will say it again, it really doesn't feel like we belong to the same fandom in anyway. You guys claim you don't discriminate among shippers, but maybe if you didn't, you would also think about the rest of the fandom and how they feel when they are constantly being left out.
The truth is you don't care about anyone outside of your community. We don't matter to you. Just admit it.
First of all, the admins of the server decided to speak out not because we want to villainize anyone, but because we want to clarify any misconceptions that people may have regarding the server.
Once again, we would like to reiterate that there is no intention to gatekeep. We make content catered to Filipinos simply because that's the community the server was made for. That doesn't mean we want to "other" the international fandom.
While we are global citizens, we are also Filipinos with our own culture that we want to celebrate.
'Have you even ever catered to the international fandom too?'
As previously stated in our master post, we have many Filipino creators who make content accessible internationally. Levihan Filo Week had themes that were Filipino-centric, but the content produced by the fans are still accessible to the international fandom and was, in fact, enjoyed and interacted with by a lot of fans not just within the Filipino community but also outside it.
Furthermore, a lot of Filipino creators have made content in AO3, Tumblr, and Twitter, which international fans are free to enjoy because a majority of the content there is in English.
We believe that the rest of the fandom understands why we created our own safe space for Filipinos. To that, we are eternally grateful. However, since you feel left out due to the existence of events we made to cater to our own people who share the same culture we do, I have attached the tumblr blog for the international fandom for your perusal:
https://levihanweek.tumblr.com/
They have a lot of events that we are very happy to consistently support. Cheers to our fellow project managers who work hard in order to give the fandom the content they deserve!
To conclude, we would like to say that this shall be our final statement on the matter. We refuse to allow negativity to perpetuate in our safe space. Filipinos are happy in our discord server, we have events that people enjoy, and we freely interact with several very kind moderators who manage international Levihan events. To us, that's all that matters.
We want to thank the international community for supporting our endeavors! We will always be willing to participate in events now and in the future. We invite everyone to celebrate our diverse community by supporting the works of our international creators! Mabuhay ang Levihan community!
