On the stage in my heels, it’s where I belong

Meet two new members of my still unnamed AU! I’ve been turning these two around in my head for so long, I felt it was only fair to finally give them their debut!

As I’m sure it’s incredibly obvious, I’m taking some serious inspiration from real life celebrities when it comes to the creation of this AU, but that doesn’t mean it’s just a retexture of our world with my favorite Hermits, Empires, and Life Series members faces overtop real people. There’s a whole world I’ve been building, a whole story to so many different people and how their lives intersect, who they are, and their own personas. And I can’t wait to keep drawing and maybe even writing to expand upon it.

I meant to get this finished earlier in the day so I could post it, but the day got away from me.

Feliz Día de la Independencia a Mi Bella Guatemala! Ahora que vivo en los Estados Unidos, me encuentro extrañando tantas cosas que antes solía dar por sentadas. Desde las cosas más pequeñas como el clima, el olor del aire, y la vista de las montañas que me rodeaban, hasta las personas que hacen mi hogar lo que es y la comida que no puedo encontrar en este país. Guatemala siempre será mi hogar, donde mi alma anhela estar, sin importar en qué parte del mundo esté.

Como dato curioso, cuando comencé a hacer mi “sona”, quería ser una guacamaya roja, ya que son una de mis aves favoritas nativas a mi hogar, pero no quería que la gente la asociara con Grian, así que elegí la cotorra en vez!

Now that I live in the United States, i find myself missing so many things I used to take for granted. From the weather, to the smell of the air, and the sight of the mountains all around me, to the people that make my home what it is and the food I can’t find here. Guatemala will always be my home, where my soul craves to be, no matter where in the world I am.

As a fun fact, when I first started making my sona, I wanted to be a scarlet macaw, as it’s one of my favorite birds native to my home, but I didn’t want people to just associate it with Grian, so I went with the non native Sun Conure instead!

I finally finished writing the first chapter for the Public Eye AU! Its been sitting in my docs for months at this point, delayed by a pretty wide variety of real life situations, but its finally here! I'm gonna really try to get chapters posted regularly, both for this specific fic and more fics to expand the story, universe, and the way all the characters interact with it!

It’s been a crazy few months with moving and new jobs, but I’ve finally had the time to work on some more personal pieces! It took way too long for this to finally happen, but I finally started watching Empires! I just had to draw Scott first.

I've started writing again!

It's taken a long time for me to feel up to writing any sort of fic, but I've been feeling inspired lately! So I'm going to be turning my Public Eye AU into a series of fics, as well as other stories I've had swirling around in my mind!

Now that we’ve finally got proper intros into the three main people I’m basing this AU off of, I can finally move into more storytelling pieces and fleshing out the world around them. How exactly I’m going to be doing that is still up in the air though.

As of right now I’m considering a few different options, including; art accompanied by short drabbles or “excerpts” from articles within the AU, fleshing it out into a full comic series (a lot more work, less frequent updates), and writing a full fic for it, possibly still accompanied by the article excerpts posted here!

I felt like Scar got cheated with his original intro page, so here’s a full body intro of our favorite guy!

Meet Scar, Ariana’s personal bodyguard. He goes everywhere with her, and takes keeping her safe very seriously. It’s not uncommon to find her out and about with Scar by her side, and it’s safe to assume that if you see the bubbly pop star somewhere, Scar is somewhere nearby, if not glued to her side.

Don’t mind me, I’m just staring down every single fanartist, writer, and general hermitcraft fan over 18 that I follow and vibrating with the desire to befriend them. Except I genuinely have no idea how to make friends anymore and am seized with the anxiety of coming off wrong, or not even knowing where to start.

Meet Ariana! Signed to a record label at the age of 16 after a being discovered through the videos she’d upload online, she moved her way up as a teen pop star until her eventual split from her old manager once she turned 18. After a few years of struggling through the world of music without a manager, she decided to take a chance on a sweet, easily flustered Brit introduced to her by a rather reclusive composer she’d occasionally see skulking around the studio building.

I will struggle, and rewrite, redraw, ask more experienced people for advice, spend hours doing research, throw my pencil across the room in frustration, and a million other things to try and create something I’m proud of and I feel is good enough.

I will NEVER use generative AI, whether it be for writing, drawing, or anything else. I would sooner have a piece take me three times as long to draw or write than ever get near an AI program

It’s been over a year since I made my original meet the artist, and a lot has changed since then, mainly my confidence in my art and how I perceive myself! So I wanted to finally delve into creating your official online “sona”, which is based on a Sun Conure! It’s not native to Guatemala, my home country, but I worried that making myself a scarlet macaw, which is, would make me look too similar to Grian, especially with my natural hair color.

After meeting an up and coming pop star while visiting an old university friend at a recording studio, he found himself caught up in the glamorous world of stars when he received a message requesting an interview with him for the position of manager to said singer. Seems she took a liking to him.

Meet Scar, Ariana’s bodyguard. Hired by Mumbo to be her personal bodyguard and the head of her security detail, he goes everywhere with the pop star. From award shows to a friends birthday party, he takes his job of keeping her safe very seriously. But as all that time spent together leads to them developing a close friendship, it’s hard to keep things purely professional.
