Please don’t stop talking about Palestine.
🇵🇸
To clarify, this is a war crime, the Geneva convention bans the targeting of medical transport. There's no caveats. It doesn't actually matter who's driving it.
The last month has taught me that apparently all the Geneva convention is really good for is getting indie games to change a red medical cross to some other medical cross and that it can do fuck all about actual war crimes.
The fact that over 10,000 people and counting in Gaza (likely way more than that considering how many people are missing/buried under the rubble) are dead is fucking unfathomable. I don’t think some people even understand how many 10,000 out of 2.2 million people is. Nearly half a percent of the population. Nearly one in every 200 people are dead in the Gaza Strip. In my home state of Texas, this would be as if you killed roughly 135,000 people. Any number of lives lost to violent military occupation is horrific, but this is on a scale that I don’t think most of us can even wrap our heads around. And just today it was reported by the Wall Street Journal that the United States is sending $320 million to Israel to arm them with more fucking bombs. I hope no one ever forgives us. I hope we never forgive ourselves.

Gazans are being forced to leave the city and walk for 10 km ( 6.25 miles) on foot because Israeli air forces target any cars.
The first Nakba was in 1948 when 700,000 Palestinians were forced to leave their homes with the promises of being allowed back. They never were.
There will be a summit on 11/11 for Arab leaders. It's the United States and Europes pressure that keeps Arab countries from helping Gaza.
If we can keep pressing, maybe Egypt can finally be allowed to at least deliver proper portions of food and water and medicine.
Keep speaking up. Keep pusing.
We know from Sag aftra that speaking up and striking works!
This is how colonialism works. It convinces us that the fallout from resistance is entirely our fault, that the immoral choice is resistance itself rather than the circumstances that demanded it.

also, a friendly reminder, the world we live in now consists of an active genocide.
of warcrimes being posted on twitter by the official account of israeli government.
of people looking at children, women and men being bombed, killed, starved and butchered and saying it is okay because of a single terrorist group, THAT ISRAEL CREATED.
of westerners saying to look away from the slaughter happening in gaza because your mental health is more important than thousands of lives.
of israeli politicians straight up using propaganda from nazi handbooks to dehumanise palestinians, calling them less than human, less than the rest of us, animals.
and what one palestinian man posted on his social media hit me more than anything: “if we actually were animals, people would care.”

PRAY FOR PALESTINE 🇵🇸
[ID: a screenshot from twitter of a user replying to another.
the first tweet by @ ventigz reads, 'if u are studying in a university in the USA and u are vocal about ur support to palestine pls be careful. there's a website called canary mission that targets students and teachers that support palestine and they post ur pic, ur uni and the organisations ure into ++.' attached to it is a screenshot from the website of two (censored) students and their information.
the reply by @ idolsoyorin reads, 'this is not just limited to the US, canadians have also been put on this website. to those of you taking actions irl, please cover your face up and remain anonymous. when posting about it online, make sure no personal info is on that profile #ceasefirenow.' end ID.]
palestine legal is a great organization for if you end up on one of these lists and their intake form can help those who have been doxxed or faced issues while protesting. they provide free legal advice and can refer you to lawyers and other resources you may need.
excellent work by marc
Clarification: Marc Lamont Hill lost his job at CNN in 2018 for simply saying "free Palestine from the river to the sea" at a UN meeting. He has since become a mainstay at Al Jazeera English.
Just typed up a transcript of the video excerpt posted above:
Marc Lamont Hill: The UN said that the humanitarian situation quote, "will only deteriorate exponentially, and that crucial life-saving supplies, including food, fuel and water, must be allowed into Gaza.” So the UN is saying: you must do this. You are saying… you’re not going to do this. Um, how do you…
Danny Avalon, Former Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister: No, we’re not, we’re not saying that.
Hill: He’s saying, do it immediately.
Avalon: No, no —
Hill: He’s saying, do it immediately.
Avalon: I — I got you. I’ll tell you exactly what we’re saying. We’re saying: we will do everything for the Gazan people. Once and now we demand immediate surrender, unconditional surrender of Hamas. If Hamas people come out with their hands up and clear their weapons, believe me, everything will be restored to Gaza. It is Hamas — in Hamas’ hands.
Hill: OK, now I understand. Thank you for clarifying that, sir. I think we’re actually on the same page here. You’re saying that once Hamas leaves, you’ll grant the Gazan people food, shelter, fuel, electricity, hospitals, schooling. And if they don’t… "if Hamas doesn’t leave, then you’ll continue to starve, and die in hospitals." You are defining, for the international community right now, collective punishment. You’re saying, until Hamas acts differently, the 2 million people in Gaza are going to be treated this way. And once Hamas acts differently, these 2 million people will be treated better. That is exactly what collective punishment is. You’re holding them accountable for the actions of others. That is the textbook definition of collective punishment. Now, you may accept that that’s what you want to do, but this is absolutely in contravention of international law.
Avalon: Well, I’ll tell you exactly — no. Had we pushed people to the wall, but we’re not pushing them to the wall. We want to open a humanitarian corridor so they can leave. But if Hamas, if Hamas —
Hill: So that who can leave? Who can leave? Citizens?
Avalon: …
Hill: You’re saying civilians can leave? But only through the Rafah border, correct?
Avalon: At this point, yes. Because, where else?
Hill: YOUR COUNTRY! They could come into Israel!
Avalon: … I’m telling you, uh, one more thing I want to tell you…
Hill: No no no, I want you to address that point. Don’t just smile, sir. Respectfully. You’re saying…
Avalon: I’m not…
Hill: You’re making a corridor. They can go to Egypt. You’re bombing them. You say you want to save them. But they can’t come in.
Avalon: … I’m … (stumbling) … first of all, I’m not smiling, I am crying in my —
