Recently I've been much more dedicated to my French learning - organizing weekly practice phone calls with friends, listening to podcasts, reading books, etc. I'm amazed by the difference it's already had on both my comprehension and my confidence!

(chants) new pen day!! new pen day!!

in the last few months, i increased my fountain pen collection to include these four… two madoromi pilot kakunos, pilot metropolitan, and a pilot custom 74 (first entry into gold nibs!!). thoughts below:

i LOVE my pilot metropolitan, it’s a huge jump from the kakuno (even though they’re both steel nibs). the pilot custom 74 is still growing on me — although the gold nib is springy, it doesn’t run as wet as the metropolitan. unsure if it’s an ink issue but i spoke with the sales clerk at yoseka who said her custom 74 writes the same way so i might just be unaccustomed to pilot fine gold nibs. i got way more inks and ink samples from goulet so i’m excited to continue inking my pens with fun colors and introduce more color into my world 🎨🖋️

I had some serious cramps and health issues since coming back from London and I only just got better today. Work is stacking up, my first reading event is in two days (!!!) and idk what to do with myself from excitement and anxiety and workload-stress.

To Do today:

practice for reading event

study international law

write book 2

tidy flat

morning lecture : constitutional law

I must not lie down. Lying down after school is the day-killer. Lying down is the little treat that brings total obliteration. I will face my exhaustion. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when I have made coffee, I will turn on the computer to do emails. Once lying down is gone there will be nothing. Only homework will remain.

Trying a new setup! Actually I’ve been trying to build a setup that I liked for the past few months and I think I’m finally getting somewhere! I brought my hourglass from home and it’s already making it feel a bit more like ‘me’
