“It’s not like I went out and threatened someone when I snuck out. I just grabbed the rubber chickens to take the school for the Senior Prank.” And maybe some live chickens from the neighbor’s yard. With owner permission of course. “And you’d think Mother saw me committing a national crime from the prime minister or something.”

“...Yu...I know i’m not the smartest person in our family, but i’m pretty sure it’s because you snuck out in the first place, you know how she is about that stuff.”

“Why didn’t you ask me to cover for you.”

“Oh? Are you, of all people, grounded?”

    “Hn…” The younger sibling hummed quietly in response while he shrugged. “I suppose so.”He mumbled. He then glanced up to meet Yasuhiro’s gaze, “Yosuke burned himself on the stove once, too, while we were hanging out.” Yu lied and mentally apologized to his partner for using him as an excuse. Then again, the teen doubted very much so that any of his siblings would believe that he’d gained this knowledge though a world inside the TV after fighting shadows if they didn’t have the proper healing items. “It just kind of stuck since then.”

He hated lying to his siblings.

Yu worried his bottom lip for the next few moments, thinking. His silver gaze found its way to the burned hand. “If they say anything to you about responsibility or how you should be more careful, then,” he took a deep breath and held it as he met his brother’s gaze once more, “I’ll take the blame for it. Tell them I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings and bumped into you while you were cooking something for us.” A newfound determination glinted in his eyes. Although he didn’t think their parents would go so far as to blame or belittle Yasuhiro’s ability to take care of himself. Just in case… “It’ll be okay, Hiro.” Yu lightly squeezed his brother’s upper arm in response. “It will work out.”

He huffed out a laugh, “I know.” The teen briefly reminisced over his childhood memories with Yasuhiro acting almost like his bodyguard occasionally when bullies were around. “Why are you so worried about me now? I can manage on my own and I don’t get sick over every little thing now.”

    He shrugged , “Yeah, but It wasn’t like I was in danger, though. Besides, it’ over now. The killer was caught.”

“No, no you don’t have to lie about something like that.” He appreciated the offer, but having his younger brother taking any blame for something he himself did..he didn’t like the thought of that. Call it some kind of older sibling pride or whatever. 

Their parents wouldn’t be upset at him- he knows it. They both do. Yasuhiro truly believes that they’re good parents.. (he loves his family dearly) though, sometimes he thinks they can feel like too much at times. Was it him taking their worry as disappointment? Does it have to do with him not being like some of their other siblings? Worried about any comparisons? Hah. There he goes again. Taking one thing and blowing it out of proportion- he’s just putting too much on himself, right? He’s the only one that’s doing any comparisons around here.. “You know me, I tend to over think and overreact. Thank you..but I gotta be able to deal with whatever comes my way you know?”

He lightly swished his hand around in the water to let the burn feel some of the cooling. Holding still made him feel the heat more, and Yasuhiro wanted to relish in the small seconds of relief from the movement. “Yea, you definitely can..you’ve definitely changed yea? You seem...I dunno. More confident in yourself? Especially after the past year.”

“I guess i’m just worried you might take on too much on your own at some point.”

How many minutes has his hand been in the water? It felt like forever, but he knows it’s probably been barely five minutes. He clicked his tongue and frowned. “Wasn’t it someone he knew though? That’s a lot to be around..” A pause. “Just know that..you can talk to me about anything you need.” Maybe Yu wasn’t around too much of it- he really didn’t know. His brother did say that he wasn’t in any danger but...wouldn’t being in the area that was going on at get to people? Especially if it all turned out to be someone that was around you? Was he even around that guy? Probably not..but Yasuhiro tends to go to ‘what ifs’ often.

Well, people do tend to act differently in situations. 

“I just don’t like the thought of anything happening to you.”

    “I guess.” He shrugged, “if you’re okay with it, then I have no room to argue.” Yu remembered all of the times the older sibling had done it in his high school days- or, more specifically, nights; an the few times Yasuhiro had used his window on the second floor as an entryway. “Just don’t give me another heart attack if you do come into the house through my window again. I still have that bat, you know.”

    When his brother finished up sweeping a majority of the glass shards, Yu hopped back down. He checked his watch to see how long they’d have until their mother- or father- came home, “Mom should be getting off work soon; so we have an hour at best to pick out the plates and get back here. I’m sure we can find something that will match the other dishes. If not, then maybe something similar?” If worse came to worst case scenario, perhaps an entirely new set of dishware- plates and bowls alike- wouldn’t be so bad. “We should hurry, though.”

“That much time? The closest store that sells nice dishware would be..." He trailed off in thought and looked around the kitchen counters for his keys in the process. “Uh...I don’t know, like? Ten or so minutes?” Unless they get side tracked they should be fine. Please let there be no traffic.

“You think we should leave a note in case mom or dad get back before us?” If they even have time to. “Eh...you know, let’s just risk it and go. C’mon.”

“For the last time, I didn’t let you die in a McDonald’s. But if you’re going to continue to yell at me, your friend stood by and watched as well. So where’s his blame?”

    Seven’s movements slowed as the seconds went by. The offending pear eventually rolled down his back, out of his shirt, and onto the hardwood floor. He shivered. That was not a pleasant sensation to experience; however, it wasn’t the worst thing he went through. The hacker would live.

The redhead turned to the young woman who stood only a few feet away. He was ready to lecture her on how she shouldn’t interrupt him while he was working, but then burst out into laughter himself. They weren’t in immediate danger right now, and besides, her laughter was infectious.

“Oh-” He began, “Oh no, the.. Great God707 is not one to… to be filmed. The camera would break.” He snickered. Not that he would let anyone really record him anyway- safety and protection and all that. He wasn’t the one who deserved the spotlight. “But anyway,” The male settled for a devious grin upon his face, the laughter subsiding, “Maybe it’s a good time to run,” He lifted both his hands up, his fingers wiggling vigorously. “Who knows what…”  He took a step forward.

Currently, all she had was a straw. She was not armed with any other boba pearls...and oh lord she knew that the other was going to get back at her. It was painfully obvious at his words- but all she had was a stupid straw.

A part of her felt bad about interrupting him, (which, she was not going to make it a habit to do so.) though to her relief he was not upset. He was planning his revenge. Okay, well, better for a playful attitude than a serious one. (Especially considering she brought this onto herself)

When Seven took a step forward, she took a step back. One hand rested on the door frame and the other clutched the straw close. Her smile grew, and her laughing fit calmed down enough. “Oh forgive me, God707, for my sins.” 

Slowly she inched out of the room, never taking her eyes off the hacker. “I may not have gotten a video...but who says I didn't get a photo?” An obvious bluff. But hey, you have to keep the suspense going right? Her flight mode activated. After a moment, she turned and bolted away.

    The redhead didn’t pay too much attention of whom had come into the room while he sat on the floor in the dark surrounded by several of his computers, honey eyes scanning each of the screens at once. He knew someone came in, out of the two other people in the apartment, Seven could clearly make out the footsteps of the person who entered. Those steps were too loud to be Vanderwood, so that left- “MC-” His somewhat serious tone cut off and turned into a startled yelp when he felt something wet roll down the back of his neck and down his shirt. “Gyaaah~!!”

He jumped up off the ground, nearly knocking over the computers while he half danced, half shook around to get whatever-the-heck that was out of his shirt. “What is this?” The hacker stuttered out. He wanted to sound serious, but the amusement failed to leave his tone. Equipment nearly forgotten for the moment while he kept on shimmying.

As soon as he jumped up and yelled, she started to become a giggling mess. She bent in on herself, straw still in hand as she held a fist to her mouth. Seeing the other struggle to get the pearl out of his shirt, she’s glad she went through with it.

She opened her mouth to speak, closed it, then opened it again and let out a wheeze before leaning against the door frame. No, she can’t speak. Seven’s current reaction was too entertaining.

“I should have-” She said between laughs, “Gotten this.... on video.”
