What are cups of joy

A product of SCP-294 if you asked it for a ‘Cup of Joy’. Has a pleasantly intoxicating effect similar to alcohol, but if taken in extreme and high doses (See: Dr. Maple), it can cause irreparable damage to your amygdala and endocrine system. Serotonin syndrome in a cup.

the original drawing was gonna be a better drawing of the pancake doodle it just didnt work well with lineart. the sketch is cute though

hi maple!! ^_^ quick question, what happens when you feel pain? do you just smile it away? or do you tend to cry? even a few tears! hehe :3 do tell!!! sorry am very curious xd

He doesn't cry, unless it's like irritation of the eyes or whatever. He generally does not feel any emotion aside from happiness. He's not resistant to pain in the way that'd make one invulnerable though, he just easily hurts himself and ends up in medical most of the time.

He's fairly scrupulous with his own safety though, usually keeps to low-risk jobs. Like paperwork. Boredom simply isn't a thing for him!

does maple ever open his eyes? all the art I’ve ever seen is him with his eyes closed, and it made me wonder!!

what's his favorite breakfast food? does he make it for himself often?

'full english' breakfast! he doesn't really make it for himself because it's kinda hell to get all the components together when you need to up-and-go in the morning (And he's currently based in America,). however, it's nice to pine about something you can have once you get home :-)

has there been an event where maple only being able to experince happiness has backfired? like, something bad happening as a result of his reaction to something?

aside from being a social slug & incredibly jarring in sensitive conversations, his lifespan has been extremely shortened due to the rewiring of his endocrine system as it causes his blood pressure to go through the roof constantly. but it's not as if he can be upset about it so >_>
