Everyone constantly complains about tumblr staff not caring about child abuse and cp on their site.

There’s a pretty good chance the reason that’s happening is cuz Tumblr staff wants that kind of content.

As in, they remove all the typically “bad” content to keep a clean image and leave all the incredibly illegal shady shit on the back burner where no one will notice it.

Some of the methods on the site that are used to distribute illegal content are very complex, yet easily curbed back, and they have been in use for years.

Every image uploaded to Tumblr is scanned against an industry database of known child sexual abuse material, and images that are detected never reach the platform

The only reason it actually got on here was because A routine audit discovered content on on here that had not yet been included in the industry database. (Aka pedos found a loop hole and exploited the fuck out of it) as a result They immediately removed the content once found.

Tumblr has a “have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to media featuring child sexual exploitation and abuse,” they work collaboratively with there industry peers and partners like [the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children] to actively monitor content uploaded to the platform.

Theres no way in hell that they would do this kowningly. But if that was actually the case, that’s actually extremely disturbing and they would be painted as hypocrite.
