She loves nature and animals, plants and fungi. She was presented with a great opportunity to go to a summer study program in the Everglades that's truly changed her life. She boarded the plane thinking about changing from general biology to marine biology, taking notes in the field guide she'd gotten during her studies on things she remembered from the classes. And then the unthinkable happened. Marcy doesn't remember the crash. She remembers hanging in her seat by her seatbelt, her head dizzy and the light a little too bright. As far as she could tell though when she managed to get down was that she just had some scrapes and bruises. On paper, Marcy should have been overly prepared for a situation like this. She should know exactly what to do, what plants are safe to eat, how to catch fish, how to survive with minimal supplies because it was basically what she had been doing for the last few weeks, camping out in the everglades. But something here is off to her. She keeps getting headaches. She keeps hearing whispers and seeing shadows. She's heard others talk about some strange happenings on the island, but she doesn't know if that's what this is. Mostly, Marcy is quiet, clearly shaken by the crash. She'll do what's asked of her and will talk a little, but seems very out of it most of the time. The times she's most talkative are when she's sitting alone, staring off into the jungle. Something is trying to talk to her. Telling her things about the island. Ways to survive. And also insisting her to come further into the wilds. Is it some magical voice speaking to her from the island's soul? Or is some part of her trying desperately to stay alive?
