Isabella Skelton | Retribution Event | Elysian Client
Growing up an only child in the lap of luxury; Isabella Skelton was an exceptional student. She was raised in a household where grades, dedication, and ambition were the stepping stones of success and the key to getting everything you wanted out of life. Being an only child, a child to an oncology surgeon and biotech corporation president, she was eager to be everything her parents wanted her to be. Yet, she rarely saw either of them due to their busy careers.
Although, as years bled on, Isabella became very independent. Instead, she drowned herself in the beautiful, rich, and famous lavish lifestyle style. She was no stranger to the party scene and many one-night stands. It earned her a reputation. But in her own words, she didn’t “do relationships.” She was much too focused on her endeavors and accomplishments. This decision often turned heads given her renowned parents. So, she settled into a less than star-studded life. In her eyes, a life of mediocrity. She worked hard enough to please her demanding parents and their expectations about getting a fulfilling career in life, but that was about it. While she was completely capable of taking over her father’s corporate legacy, she chose the path of genetics instead was in a way, one more bitter act of stubborn defiance, resentful that she was catering to their wishes at all. Yet, her subtle rebelliousness had always been something that others admired in her.
Being heard of wasn’t the problem: it was being distracted. A thirst for knowledge; maybe that was the catalyst that started her bright future. Yale University had brought her everything she’d hoped it would; success, experience, passion. She became immersed in her research. But then found herself distracted. A gentle and kind soul, Isabella was everything the love of her life was not. A few short years later, with a wedding in their futures and their graduations behind them, Isabella was ready to tackle the world. But that dream was ripped from underneath her feet when her husband left to catch a flight to Milan for a cousin’s funeral—and never came back. Soon she fell back on her old habits and picked up the bottle again. When she wasn’t working, she was drinking, and when she wasn’t drinking, she was working. Or fucking.
After a year, she gave up hope and moved to start anew in Covaire City in 2014. Her life in Covaire as a client was a private and reclusive one working as a medical geneticist at the hospital or hiding in her lab. When the earth ripped open, and demons spilled forth, Isabella awakened as an Elysian. Having a hard time coming to grips with the change, she became exceedingly depressed and hid away searching for a cure for this strange affliction. Her every attempt at a “cure” ending in vain. She rented prisoners out of pity and the need for lab rats. She paid escorts to sate her chronic boredom and loneliness. Ultimately, she came to terms with herself and instead used her newfound abilities to aid her work. While she has compassion for others, she often comes off as cold and clinical. Her personality is very analytical and reserved; she attributes this to her work and distant upbringing. When it comes to the upper-echelon of Covaire, she makes herself scarce, finding most of their mannerisms irksome. Eventually, she took pity on one prisoner in particular—a blonde human with a mouth on her named Jewel. Seeing potential in the prisoner, she opened her home to the girl permanently. Whether she regrets it or not is up for interpretation.
