This is kinda out of the blue, but everything about Gorillaz lore makes sense when you realize it’s two Aries creating a band consisting of three Geminis and a Scorpio.

Hey, everyone. I’m still fucked up about the whole “About Us? About You!” line in 2D’s journal. Here’s why:

It suggests that Murdoc and 2D bothered to put their own pride aside for awhile, and tried to have a serious conversation about the nature of their relationship before Murdoc got locked up.

However, Murdoc ended up going about it the wrong way. He made it all about himself and didn’t leave much room for 2D’s own thoughts and feelings.

In my opinion, Murdoc was so overwhelmed with guilt about his past behaviour that he kept on talking about the horrible shit he’s done, inadvertently turning the discussion into a pity party. He suffered from this mentality that he wasn’t good enough for 2D and kept beating himself up for it, rather than assuring Stu that he’ll start getting out of that vicious cycle.

By the end of their talk, Murdoc and 2D hadn’t gotten anywhere. Stu didn’t feel more secure about their relationship, and was only bewildered by the fact that Murdoc remained a victim to his own callous and self-deprecating mind. Murdoc didn’t have any course of action to put in more work to improve their relationship, and that only left Stu feeling disappointed and heartbroken.

And thus 2D resorted to songwriting and journaling to help work out the trainwreck going on in his mind…

I am also obsessed about those lines and mostly that is why I decided to get the deluxe edition (marketing done right, kids!). I, however, am not as eloquent as you but yeah, pretty much...

it’s fine if you wanna see 2D needing Murdoc’s help with shoelaces/etc. as something cute or w/e, but I feel like it’s never acknowledged how it’s possible that 2D needs that help in the first place because of Murdoc’s influence on his life

Hey everyone, I felt the need to update you all and let you know I plan on putting out a new chapter of A Caged Bird Sings LATE tonight. I’m sorry I know it’s a little late! I really strive for 10,000 words a chapter and I want this chapter to be worth the wait! Djskfjsks I really hope it won’t be disappointing. This chapter is… well I won’t spoil anything. But I’m excited to get it out so thank you for your patience! I’m gonna try to stay on it a little better from now on 😩
