P.S. I’ve been more active on Instagram for the past couple of months so if ever you’re interested in that, check out my account. I post a lot more often there than here on tumblr because well, I’m a millenial. Social media platforms take about 70% of my life even though half of the accounts I own are unnecessary and redundant but it helps distract me at around 3 am when I suddenly decide to regret everything in my life and wonder when that 7.2 magnitude earthquake will hit Manila.Â
So it’s been a really long while since I’ve posted anything here on tumblr. It’s nice to know there’s something I can come back to from time to time. Hello to new followers... again, why do porn sites keep following me??? C’mon guys, I go incognito for a reason gahd. So a lot of things have happened and changed but photography is still here for me and that’s nice. Right now, I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to do with my life so maybe I’ll just keep on taking pictures until I find out.

Thoughts of the working class: “sana hindi na ako contractual.”Â
- - - - - -Â
Contractualization has long been a problem for Filipino workers especially those in the service industry. Because of contractualization, they are hindered from getting regular pay, work benefits, and worst of all, they do not have any job security because of the looming end of their work contracts.Â
Workers’ groups such as Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), pushes for the repeal of the DOLE Department order 18-A series of 2011 which, according to them, “has institutionalized contractualization by setting guidelines that teaches employers how to circumvent labor laws and legalize their contractual employment schemes”. Labourers should have the right to job security and regular pay as it is essential to the betterment of one’s economic state. As private companies and major businesses garner billions and billions of pesos every year, the number of their contractual employees also increase year after year. This only results to the unequal divide of profit and salary which leaves majority of Filipino workers stuck in the low-paying job for years without salary increase. Â
