I did a lot of writing today.
You can read it here for free; the first part of a story about a fading curse.
Rooms rented at the inn were small, but provided everything one needed. A bed of course, layered with cotton sheets and wool toppers, as well as folded extra blankets set by the foot of it. The patterned and hand stitched fabric remained a staple of the little rooms.
I’ve just posted the first part of my story focusing on lesbians in the wild west.
It’s free for anyone to read!
Mythic Tale...
Everything was pink, from the sky to the grass. If you went outside with a paper cone you could swirl the clouds onto it and taste their sweet candy sugar. The light of the setting sun behind these clouds warmed the soul, but chilled the skin, and pale forms basked in its bright, cool embrace. Though there was no wind, a whisper flitted through the air constantly as the people converged through the fields of tall grass, dyed lavender in the evening light. Beyond them there was not a tree unladen with draped, colourful swaths of fabric, their garb matched to that of those who dressed them. Troughs marked the ground, formed like sketches, their lines deliberate but not certain in their ways. Tonight, finally these interlinked dug out patterns were complete, now filled with shadows for ink in. Every piece together made a web without any straight portions. Arches emerged from the centre of the pattern and swirled outwards, crossed at predictable intervals by widening circles which reached out so far that all citizens were required in order to encircle the edge of the grand sigil. Every being present joined hands with the ones beside them along the patterned rutts. Held hands hoisted high, all joined in the sway to call down the sun into the bed they had woven for it in the earth.
The clouds dipped down like stretched gauze as the sun leaned in to the beckoning of the people down below. Once the wisps in the air were at their capacity their hold broke, and the righteous ball of light burst through, into the bull’s eye of the nest made by the people it gazed down upon for so long. A homecoming. True night had been evaded, but darkness was still coming. The sun would sleep, tough not over the horizon as it always had before, it still needed rest, to douse down and have time where the only energy expended was on itself.
From an incredible expanse the sun lessened itself, exhaled its expectations. All that was golden rose petals of light and fire calmed into smooth obsidian surfaces, at odds with one another, and liquid at first… But as the entity eased further, its form too evened out. Soon, in the absolute centre of the scorched field, lay a perfectly ovular black stone. Its unmarred surface glistened with the light from stars pinned in the sky, no haze of light to outshine them any longer. The slumbering sun began to move, to turn over as it dozed, and formed further from its simple shape into that of a child, skin still as black as the sudden night that had fallen with it. The people who had prepared the bed paced inwards, and two worked together to swaddle up the called down star. The sun would no longer be expected to strain on its own for so many, would never be without love, would be able to rest for as long as it liked.
Congratulations to @snowelves for getting this prize, a blog-inspired story, as one of four winners in my patreon contest! For more, follow me here or check out my patreon page. I write reader-influenced fiction!
Part five of Verba Moriens is up, and I am in love with it !!!
I was always a big fan of choose-your-own-adventure stories, but found they lacked impact on the reader for the choices they picked...
So I’m writing stories on my patreon page that are impacted directly and permanently by readers’ input. Or if you’d rather be along for the ride instead of calling the shots, there’s also the option to have characters in the stories named after you! If you or anyone you know is fond of interactive storytelling, spread this around, check out my page, and read the first chapter of one story for free right here!

Chapter Three is up!!!!!!
“While you were living, you and I made an agreement… It’s time the terms were fulfilled.”
- Iorel in Verba Moriens, chapter two.
Keep up with this necromancer’s tale on my patreon: patreon.com/ceraph The first chapter is free!
The first of many chapter stories for this patreon, Verba Moriens follows the proceedings of a necromancer's life and tasks.
Hello, I recently moved out of an abusive household and am now on my own. I have a sleep disorder that prevents me from being able to have a regularly scheduled job, I’m living off of very quickly dwindling savings right now.
So I'm on Patreon! I’m an author, and I have plenty of stories planned out for this Patreon page, which I’ll publish monthly one chapter at a time. This first one is free! Read it at the link above to see my writing.
The goal is to have enough income so I can cover food, and rent, and bills, as well as have some savings for some medical expenses I'll have in the future (serious jaw issues, tendon issues, continuing medication for depression). If 400 people pitch in $5/chapter, I'll have exactly that! There are also options to pledge $2 or even $1 per monthly chapter.
The best thing is you don't have to just read these, YOU CAN BE IN THE STORIES, and INFLUENCE WHAT DIRECTION THEY TAKE! See the tiers listed on my page for details~
Check out the link above, consider pledging to help me survive, and spread the word so more people can get involved!
“Each red droplet fell into the pail over the cauldron a little slower than the last. The sound of blood rippling into the pot with the rest melted in with the soft noise of midday rainfall outside the round hut.
The ground soaked the water in and fed it up to the herbs growing off to one side, lined up in well kept rows. The trees that were circled around the small clearing caught the rain only to let it drip off their branches again to feed their roots. Apart from the slight bounce each leaf and limb made as it unburdened itself with a little more water, all was still. The well was covered so no raindrops disturbed its deep surface, there was no roiling fire in the pit, the drying racks were bare, the chopping block wasn't in use, and the horse was asleep in her sheltered stable.
Moss decorated the roof over the hut and the porch, on which two chairs made of roughly shaped branches sat. The doorway, made of log like the rest of the home, had a long cloth hung from its top post, dyed a deep shade of indigo. This kept out very little, but Iorel preferred it that way.”

“Fresh blood was necessary, at the very least blood that was still liquid, none of that coagulated business would work here.”

Patreon Launch Contest!
I’ve just launched a patreon where I’m putting up chapter stories, and the first chapter of the first story, Verba Moriens, is up right now, for free! Read it here!
For this launch I’m having a contest, and there are FOUR prizes to be won! Here’s how you enter for each one of them:
Pledge to my Patreon: patreon.com/ceraph for a chance to win a 1000 word story based on your request! I’ll reach out to the winner for their request once they’ve been randomly picked.
Reblog this tumblr post for a chance to have a 500 word story written based on your tumblr page!
You can also retweet this tweet for a chance to have a 500 word story written based on your twitter page!
You can also share this facebook post for a chance to have yet another 500 word story based on your facebook page!
Only pledges, reblogs, retweets, and shares count as entries. ○ One winner from each site will be picked by a randomizer, if the same person wins on more than one site, they get more than one prize! Entering in every way you can is worth it. ○ I’ll contact winners via message mechanics on each site, if I don’t get a reply 24 hours later, I’ll pick another winner for that site. ○ I’ll post the stories on my patreon and send the winners a link the same way I contacted them in the first place.
You can see all the pledge rewards on my page, but two exciting ones are: ○ Being included in raffles to have characters in the stories named after you! ○ Being able to influence the stories by making suggestions for things to be included in upcoming chapters!
This contest will end at 11:59pm on May 31st 2017! Good luck!
Bonus Reward Update
As of launch of my alien worldbuilding patreon on Jan. 18th, people already have their foot in the door for some spots in the special launch rewards, but there are still 23 open slots!
The first 2 people in each tier to hold a month’s pledge on my patreon will have their name be the basis for the name of a character in the final novel!
World Map is up!
For patrons of the appropriate level, the current iteration of Viul’s world map is now available on my page!
I’m creating lore for a novel, and you can be a part of it!
Here: patreon.com/marcamceraph
The first 2 people to hold a month’s pledge to each tier of my patreon will have a character name in the final novel based off their own name! This character name reward is normally only available at the very top of the tier ladder! But there are 13 tiers, so there are 26 of these bonus perks up for grabs!
When it comes to alien planets I always imagined they would be wildly different from Earth in every respect, and that’s exactly what I’m doing with this project.
Viul: a moon with scatterings and stretches of pale lands, surrounded by a deep red sea, each inhabited by sentient life that moves with three or more legs, all circling round a radioactive gas planet.
There are no beings that are just humans with purple skin, the fauna of Viul are not bigger versions of Earth animals. The sky isn’t blue, the flora isn’t green, the changing light cycles aren’t as tidy as Earth’s. There is more than one apex species- each of which have their own languages that are not spoken through their mouths, counting systems which are not base ten, and there are certainly no genders.
This project is all I have to support myself on, any pledge you can make is deeply appreciated, and getting the word out is crucial as well; please reblog, and consider pledging,
Come explore something new!
