Got my first league official clean game last night! A clean game is a game with no open frames, so spares or strikes throughout. That last fill shot doesn't count :P #thedudes #whoseturnisit #leaguebowling #Bullseye #Dropshot #Lefty and #TheBeast (at Albany Bowl)

About to get nerdy on y'all, get ready. "The Camron-Stanford House is the last remaining Victorian home from an era when Lake Merritt was publicly inaccessible, being ringed by private estates. Built in 1876, the Camron-Stanford House housed the Oakland Public Museum from 1907 to 1965. Today the building is a museum and contains offices, and is available for event rentals like weddings. The home was built by Dr. Samuel Merritt while he was developing the area. The home is named for some of its residents: the first family were the Camrons (1876-1882). Later residents were the family of Josiah Stanford (1882-1905), brother of âBig Fourâ member and university founder Leland Stanford. Other notable residents include the family of of David Hewes (1877-1881), an associate of the âBig Fourâ who is probably best remembered for donating the âgolden spikeâ for the ceremony marking the completion of the first transcontinental railroad in 1869. The last residents were Capt. John T. Wright, Jr. and his family (1903-1907). They sold it to the city of Oakland in October of 1907 for $40,000, and it became the Oakland Public Museum. The Camron-Stanford House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and on January 7, 1975, the home was designated an Oakland landmark." -LocalWiki.org This is right next to my work, so my inner history nerd gets to ogle at it during shifts :) #nofilter #historybuff #nerdy #notwhiteandnerdy #LakeMerritt #Oakland #TheTown (at Camron-Stanford House)
My Refuge, My Fortress, My God - original print from The Worship Project.
In this transitory space that Iâve found myself in, I am deeply moved and comforted by Psalm 91 - a verse that has been spoken over my life at different times, especially in the lead up to, and in this new life that I am living in California with Bethel Music.
âWhoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, âHe is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.â Surely He will save you, from the fowlerâs snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.â
Psalm 91:1-7 (NIV)

Arithmetic - original print from The Worship Project.
Brooke Fraserâs lyrics from âArithmeticâ have absolutely arrested me today. Such a beautiful declaration of allegiance to Jesus.
âI wonât find what I am looking for, if I only see by keeping score. 'Cos I know now you are so much more than arithmetic. If I add, if I subtract, if I give it all, try to take some back, Iâve forgotten the freedom that comes from the fact that you are the sum. So You are the one I want. When the years are showing on my face, and my strongest days are gone. When my heart and flesh depart this place, from a life that sung Your song, Youâll still be the one I want.â

Obligatory âI AM ASIAN-AMERICAN, GAHHHâ Post
Yo guys. Two things happened in the past month that infuriated me as an Asian-American. Get ready.
#1 The Two Girls
My department is Communication. I will be getting a Bachelor of Arts in it. Itâs a pretty dang diverse major and has people of all ethnic, socioeconomic, etc. classes. Youâd think weâd be the most aware of our behavior and actions as we study this stuff day in and day out. Two girls from my classes are complaining about a teacher (bear in mind, Iâm sitting right next to them cause I was chatting with them, also just some background - these two girls are not Asian). This teacher of ours has a thick Chinese accent but being an Asian-American myself I understood and understand her fine. These girls begin to complain not about her course outline, tests, or group projects but about her accent and how they canât understand. One of them goes on to mimic her accent in a seriously offensive way and guess what happens?
Oh, nothing. I didnât realize how messed up this was until a day or two later. I remember thinking it was strange but not too offensive. I look back now and I should have thrown a chair. Youâre Communication/Media Studies majors! You study race in almost every class! YOU KNOW WHAT IS NOT OKAY AND WHAT IS OKAY. You LIVE in one of the most racially progressive parts of the United States. Apparently regardless of how much a person can gain in knowledge, their ignorance is still going to take time to change. BUT thinking about it now - how did you not notice you were doing this right in front of an Asian person? Seriously? Would you do this in front of anyone of any other race? Am I just supposed to sit here and be a goody-two-shoes quiet Asian boy and take it? Nah, dude. I think this moment may have been the moment my brain snapped - I will no longer not be candid in how I feel about other peopleâs ignorance. Of course I will attempt to be candid with grace, perhaps âlovingly candid.â Conclusion? Doesnât matter where you live, what you studied, and how smart you think you are, you are still ignorant in some way or another. Iâm guilty of this too, and no one isnât.
#2 In My Country
Weâre celebrating a friendâs birthday at a local bar in Berkeley (progressive city, probably one of the most accepting and attempts to not be ignorant with social issues). Our friend who is turning 21 keeps joking around saying he wants a White Russian to end the night but later changes his mind (he had already had enough, haha). A drunk/delirious older white woman was nearby and would randomly chime in on our laughter and whatnot, it was kind of weird but nothing I havenât experienced when going out. The kicker was when she got up and showed us a dollar and said âLetâs get this White Russian started!â My friend politely declines and tells her heâs not going to have any more, but she insists. She then says âIn my country this is how we do birthdays,â or something in that manner. Once I heard the phrase âin my countryâ I lost it. I almost screamed at her but I audibly said out loud âWHAT. THE. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-â (I didnât technically swear but I basically did). I got up and went to the bathroom to calm down and two of my friends were reminding me âDude, she is clearly drunk and out of it.â The doormen and server both asked me what she said as I came back (calmly) to our group and I told them âShe said some racist things. I almost threw a chair at her.â They decided to ask her to leave, and it seemed they had been watching her for awhile and keeping track of her. I assumed she had been there for awhile cause she was pretty gone. Apparently when I was gone to the bathroom trying to calm down she had also said âxie xieâ to the group (thank you in Mandarin). This was yet another facepalm moment but man...that phrase âin my countryâ infuriated me. All of us spoke with perfectly normal American English accents, most of us born and raised in California/the West Coast, and she would not have said this to a group of white kids going out for their friendâs birthday. I realized yet again as we were leaving that crap...we are right next to UC Berkeley too, literally across the street. So yet again, regardless of the progressiveness of a region in terms of race some people are just plain ignorant. I have said âin my countryâ to people before, and they know Iâm talking about the United States, even people I met on missions in China and Australia. Iâm so trying to have grace for this woman because perhaps she is older and more âold-fashioned.â But dude! Bow ties are old-fashioned. Horn-rimmed glasses are old-fashioned. Top hats and monocles are old-fashioned. We cannot just let people get away with blatantly racist bs like this just because theyâre older and âold-fashioned.â Weâre making excuses for them and in turn bowing into our âavoid confrontationâ stereotype that we already have as a âsuperminorityâ or âmodel minority.â I refuse to associate myself with these attributes. I refuse to sit back and just politely wipe off the bs people fling at my face. Loving candidness, here we go.
May the 4th be with you! My school never fails to randomly impress me. #MayThe4th #ebstormtrooper #stormtrooper #NotATrap (at Pioneer Bookstore)
