I stopped watching the news a long time ago.
Today I remembered why. While walking by the tv room as my grandmother watched the noon report, I accidentally saw how two men from different countries killed other human beings by either stabbing them multiple times, or hitting them with a bat to death. Without mercy. Without compassion. Going at it pretty strong. No stopping, no love.
It froze me; I stood there, behind my grandmothers seat, silently shivering and yelling on my mind. I felt tears streaming down my cheeks for seeing such atrocious violent acts, and I just couldn’t process life in that moment anymore. Those bloody images kept playing over and over again on my mind. I kept wondering why, why, why.
Where the heck is this world going?
I stopped watching the news because I don’t want to lose my faith in humanity. I stopped because I still want to believe love is stronger than anything and everything.

there is a level of seduction that exists beyond the body. something less tangible, and perhaps more potent. anais nin understood this idea about how desire does not begin with touch but with language, perception, and the sharp electric pull of a mind that challenges and excites you. in her journals, desire is not just a physical hunger but a hunger of the intellect, an unraveling of thought before an unraveling of the body. to be drawn into someone’s mind, to feel their thoughts press against your own, can be more intoxicating than any physical closeness.

i went for a walk, i sat on a bench. i was a little sad, a little uncertain. thinking about my life. i looked up to sigh. and then i saw the trees hugging nearly making a heart with their arms. it is going to be okay
